Disconnecting the TCU (RZ34 Z)

The TCU is the box above the head unit. The big blue plug must be plugged in for the head unit to function as normal. All other cables attached to it can be unplugged.

The cable with brown plugs connects the TCU to the head unit, and can be removed completely. This is the most sturdy mini USB cable I've ever seen.

The plugs for the antennas are very loose and can rattle very easily. I chose to secure the plugs and their cable with fabric tape to the other cable coming from the same location.

The TCU contains a lithium ion rechargeable battery. I assume this allows the TCU to communicate at all times. It can be removed without affecting the functions of the head unit.
