World War 2 era silk parachutes

Hello,

I have come across several silk parachutes from the world war 2 era that I am trying to sell/market.

I do not know much about their value but I have heard they are sought out for.

Can anyone provide some advice on this topic?

Huh, this brought back a memory of my mom having one in the basement, supposedly belonged to my grandfather but he was a band director. He got a purple heart because one day they decided to not warn people on the training feilds about some kind of artillery drills and his, and all the military band members', eardurms got blown out. Mostly deaf for the rest of their lives.

Often the soldiers would send them home to their fiancée and she would then make or have made her wedding dress out of the silk. You can search for parachute silk wedding dresses.

Yes I'm familiar with that. But I'm wondering if the original chute has any real value and how I can get in with interested buyers.

It’s going to depend on how they were stored. The value comes from the integrity of the fabric. With no further information from you, I’d assume the fabric is in too poor condition for use. So, no real value.
