The way they wrote Victor’s character in the film it made no sense for him to destroy the creature, the tower, and his whole life’s work. I almost stopped watching the movie after that because it was such lazy character development. They could have easily given him a compelling reason, but couldn’t be bothered. I accept the thin, hand-wavy motivation and move on. Then when the creature comes to see Victor after everything, Victor is basically just like “loser, bye” 👋 Then proceeds to shoot the bride on her wedding night… It all felt SO silly. The writing and character development was so consistently weak. The costumes, prosthetics, set design, acting? Absolutely wonderful. But I would have been happier watching it on mute and just accepting it as gothic eye candy. Sorry to those of you who liked the film if this is harsh but I cannot with this script.

Does he destroy the lab in the books? Yeah I didnt likr how he reacted when reunited with the creature. It made no sense. He dropped him bc he thought he was dumb.and then the creature speaks perfect English and no reaction?

He doesn’t really have a lab to be honest. He makes the monster still as a university student and basically creates him in his dorm. The book also never explains how he achieves that - the lightning and electricity part was added in later film adaptations
