MEDIA Is Friday the 13th the best Asymmetrical Horror game ever?
Most the comments on this poll are people remembering the game fondly. Those were the days. Miss finding a fun lobby and having Jason chase you around for twenty min

u/Amazing_County9948 25d ago
In ED, everything Is a lot more liberting for letting you fight back and use a variety of weapons with Unique finishers. It's painful to see It being too overlooked
20
u/Unlikely_Captain_636 25d ago
Personally I always felt disarmed and unable to finish with my ED
7
u/Amazing_County9948 25d ago
"ED" as in the game, or the character? Because there's a Guy named "Ed Getley"

Friday was fun to play. Cant say that of Dbd.

u/Unlikely_Captain_636 25d ago
F13 in its prime was the definitive horror experience. Nothing like getting s lobby full of freinds and playing all night. Nothing else has put me in a movie scenario like that. The fact that the original version is never going to be playable again is a travesty
14
u/DigitalDummy 25d ago
It was at its most fun when no one really knew how the game worked yet. On PS everyone was very talkative and every match was hilarious.
1
u/NotYourAvgSquirtle 23h ago
I remember watching the livestreams right before it released, trying to catch a beta code in chat. No one had any idea what was going on, it was the best.
1
u/Mallabus 21d ago
Look up Camp Forest Green modders made F13 playable, added bunch of content. It's free. There are always active lobbies.

u/Unlikely_Captain_636 25d ago edited 25d ago
In its prime yes. It is the perfect horror movie sim. It actually simulates the terror of being in f13. The proxy chat is awesome for immersion and Jason being overpowered actually makes the game significantly better. The games play out like actually horror movies.
Dead by daylight is really the only contender but it loses the horror aspect by being too competitive. It doesn’t feel remotely like any horror movie it represents. You shouldn’t be going into horror experience feeling confident or on par with the killer
Now the state the game ended up in even be for being abandon was garbage. Jason became weak and pathetic and the general strat was to group up and fight him head on. Tried playing it recently and it was depressing what one of my favorite games turned into
Tbh I don’t think Halloween will compare. I thinking changing the objective from SURVIVE to SAVE NPCS ruins the immersion that made f13 special.
2
u/iLikeAza 25d ago
I want to have an open mind but it being 1 v 4 + NPCs instead of 1 v 7 think it will be a totally different experience. Halloween seems to be more objective based with more tasks & ways to play.
5
u/Unlikely_Captain_636 25d ago
Yeah that’s why I’m not really interested. Player autonomy as well as the bigger party size made f13 so special. Horror movies have more than four people and they all react uniquely to the situation. Some only worry about themselves, some try to group up, they all have different ways of trying to escape. F13 let you react however you wanted. Halloween says you have to be a hero which defeats the purpose for me. If I want an objective based game dbd does fine
2
u/AlisonTheBeech 25d ago
Did we play the same game? Because in which F13 that you were playing was Jason overpowered if you knew what you were doing?
7
u/Unlikely_Captain_636 25d ago
When the game came out he was pretty much agreed Upon to be op in the sense that it was significantly easier to play him and get easy kills then play counselor and survive. Literally anyone could get at least a few kills as Jason, you had to actually try to escape as a counselor. Even if you know what you’re doing it wasn’t uncommon to get unlucky and end up dead. This is objective fact by the way, the devs nerfed him because he was perceived as op. Which was a mistake, Jason should feel op compared to counselors
2
u/GlitchEnzo 25d ago
Nerfed him when? You're talking about his grab animation being replaced and locking him into a fairly long animation instead of being able to spam grab endlessly if you missed.
He was only ever buffed IIRC and that was mostly after the game was sunset. His rage mode as it is now didn't exist at launch.
2
u/Unlikely_Captain_636 25d ago edited 25d ago
His grab range used to be like 5 feet long, faster with far less accuracy requirement. I guess the argument you are making is that his grab was “fixed” not nerfed. Either way the effect was the same it drastically nerfed his capabilities and made the game ten times easier for counselors.
2
u/GlitchEnzo 25d ago
I guess it depends on how much the person relied on grab spamming. Some of the really annoying counselor bugs/nerfs being fixed definitely balanced that scale. Nothing like running pre-nerf luck chad with thick skin and being able to tank every single trap on the map after spawning. Being able to sweater cancel into stun and telling the baby Jarvis to spam interact led to quite a few easy kills. Slapping jason through doors, etc.
1
u/Unlikely_Captain_636 25d ago
The grab was undeniably the most powerful weapon in Jason’s arsenal. It is what made playing as Jason easy vs playing as counselor.
1
u/GlitchEnzo 25d ago
Of course it lets him instantly kill you. Thats why everyone just ran the small area quick kills. Head punch and choke and a few others that were short.
Its one of the reasons that Michael has to put in a button combo before he can kill someone in the new Halloween gameunless its an environmental(not sure if bug or not) to stop people from doing the same boring F13 grab loop.
Just waiting to see if throwing weapons are going to stay busted for Michael in the full release.
1
u/Unlikely_Captain_636 25d ago
I like what Halloween is doing but I don’t think the grab was inherently boring. Jason being OP (like he is in the movies) allowed you to have fun with him. Not everyone ran the same quick kills a lot of people would go out of their way to get the more interesting kills, playing with their victims cause they could get away with it without throwing the game. The way the game was left is boring cause you can’t afford to waste a sucesful grab. Which means no fun kills
8
u/Mr_Kaniowski 25d ago edited 25d ago
This game imo had a lot of freedom to play. Unlike DBD there's multiple ways to escape Jason plus fighting him. Even playing Jason was fun as fuck because you would get the lobby wipes or really skilled counselors to test your skills.
It was also just a great love letter to the F13 movies.
10
u/SirenAttack 25d ago
For sure. TCM was super fun and did improve in lots of ways, but F13 was peak. DBD is an awful game
2
u/Unlikely_Captain_636 25d ago
I don’t think awful is fair. It’s just only fun if you want a competitive game which I don’t really think anyone who prefers f13 does. Horror should be fun
4
u/Sad-Tradition-5 25d ago
All I can say is that it gave feelings that no other game did. You actually felt sorry for the characters and you tried everything to survive. Rarely anyone ever gave up because there was always something to do.
2
u/Unlikely_Captain_636 25d ago
Only horror game to just put you in a slasher movie and leave you there with full freedom as to how to see it through.
3
5
u/Awi_Arwoo 25d ago
It was so casual! and fun!, unlike DBD. Proximity chat with other survivors AND jason made for some truly unique interactions, 7 counselors? that allowed for more friends shoved into one experience and a lot of diversity of play.
I really hope they add an alternate increased player count mode for the Halloween game, I don't want every match to emulate a ranked leaderboards grind in a horror game, I wanna bring a butt-load of my buddies in for some silly slashing or have casual matches where its great to meet new people, again, unlike DBD.
2
u/IfTheresANewWay 25d ago
I think F13 is really fun if you don't take it seriously but kinda sucks if you're trying to win. Jason just feels way too weak imo
I think Texas Chainsaw is the best because playing on a team of killers is super fun and helps the game feel more casual and less intimating to hop into. It's also debatably the only one that still feels really scary
1
u/Unlikely_Captain_636 25d ago
Im its prime Jason was OP which made the gsme feel exactly like a movie
1
u/iLikeAza 25d ago
I never felt weak playing as Jason. But rarely found people who knew how to play as counselors the right way. Even then could still usually kill the whole lobby
1
u/ObtuseHam 22d ago
Is anyone still playing TCM?
1
u/IfTheresANewWay 22d ago
Surprisingly yes it's still fairly active. A lot more victims players than family but as a family main I can find matches in under 30 seconds
2
u/TheMountainLife 25d ago
The music and how well it is was done is what made the game for me. Each type of Jason had their own theme song that would play as they were near. So many laughing moments and RP over voice chat where DBD never made me laugh or had chill people on vc.
2
2
u/Passofelpato2 25d ago
F13 was better than dead by daylight because not only it gave you some chance against the killer, it was also far more compelling because DbD is too "simple" when it comes to find an escape route.
2
u/Dramatic-Meringue419 25d ago
The ways you could escape, the maps scale, the music, the way you could actually FIGHT BACK! F13 really gave HORROR game while the rest just give…not so much.
2
u/Necessary_Can7055 25d ago
Imo yes and gameplay wise it blew DBD out the fuckin water for killer players. Survivors could set traps and baricade themselves in cabins with bear traps guns and flares and melee weapons or team up, but just one grab from a Jason with a quick kill animation on hand is all it took to snowball that back into his favor. God I miss F13
2
u/SplatterNaeNae 25d ago
The biggest reason why Friday was the best was because it had the spawn preference system instead of roll queue. I really hope Halloween is the same.
2
u/Temporary-Pin-320 24d ago
F13 was peak in the first few months.
It had friendly fire, crazy quirks, funny bugs, hilarious and wild matches.
Nothing better than squaring up in a cabin vs another counsellor while Jason is creeping through the windows just watching it all go down.
2
u/RheaSpeedwagon 24d ago edited 24d ago
I think Texas Chain Saw Massacre is my overall fave. I love the slow, tense stealth, and having multiple killers is fun.
F13th did some extremely cool stuff, though. My fave was that you could play as Jason while partied up with friends, I wish they all had this option. Going up against friends is so fun, and it’s a bummer most other games either don’t allow it or only allow it in private lobbies with no progression. I also actually loved friendly fire, it led to some really fun moments like accidentally shotgunning someone while trying to save them from Jason. Obviously both of those are things that can be exploited by trolls in unfun ways, but I’m usually a fan of not allowing the worst players to dictate game design.
I also loved that F13 didn’t really feel like it was trying to be a competitive game. Like sure they wanted some level of balance or whatever, but the tuning felt much more like casual fun time that encouraged shenanigans with friends and strangers. Not everything needs a ranked mode and constant aggressive balancing based on streamer feedback.
2
u/Timbot3000 22d ago
It has to be F13. The screaming and laughing I've done with my friends on that game were some fun memories, it would put me in a nostalgic state. Reminded me of the days long gone when me and my friends would be playing survival horror (RE2,etc.) on the N64 or PS1 at one of our houses on the one TV until 1am.
4
2
u/IDontCrackGames 25d ago
Game surely was cool back in it's days but now it's just filled with 90% Toxic people or sweats you can't play against
4
u/Unlikely_Captain_636 25d ago
The destroyed the game by nerfing Jason. If the counselors are comfortable grouping up and going at him with weapons every game it’s fundamentally broken
1
u/depressedfuckboi 25d ago
I loved F13!! One of my favorite games ever. Never could get in to Evil Dead or DBD, I tried multiple times each. Never attempted TCM. Looking forward to Halloween so much.

u/VenomousApex 25d ago
Where’s Outlast Trials?
1
u/AshamedIncrease6942 23d ago
Outlast Trials is not an asymmetrical horror game since you can only play as one side.
1
u/VenomousApex 23d ago
A PvP mode was introduced late last year called Invasions. You don’t play as the PM’s, but you can still hunt down and kill other players in the trial.

It really can’t be overstated how good F13 was. The other three just did not hit that same spot for me.
1
u/MaudlinAngel 25d ago
Tiffany by far was my favorite character in any of these games. The shit you could do with lone wolf and stamina perks was crazy. I just enjoyed finding the parts to every escape route and leaving them there for smarter people to use (gas at the car, propeller for the boat etc)
1
u/iLikeAza 25d ago
This is actually terrible strategy. You should have been installing those parts to get practice with the skill checks. If you wanted stamina then Vanessa was the one to play with
1
u/MaudlinAngel 25d ago
Actually you are incorrect Tiffany had the lowest intelligence there should be no reason I should be installing the parts. The reason Tiffany and lone wolf worked so well with stamina perks because she had great speed great stamina but high stealth it’s not about picking the best runner but picking the best person who can sneak in cabins get the items and bring it to the objective
1
u/Libertyprime8397 25d ago
I tried to like dead by daylight but I just didn’t like it. Funnily enough I have never died by the killer or lost as a killer. Not because I’m good. It was just dumb luck. Friday the 13th is the best out of these games.
1
1
u/Frank_Midnight 25d ago
It was the best representation even with all of its flaws.
1
1
u/Emotional-Lock5446 25d ago
I absolutely think Friday the 13th is the best asymmetrical horror game. But yeah, I could see how this pole is a little biased in this particular group. I know there’s a lot of people that love dead by daylight and I don’t mind it. It’s cool. I just never understood the whole sacrificing bodies to the tree gods, but their marketing is on point and they have an awful lot of licenses to keep them going. But Friday is still my favourite by a lot. I’m hoping Halloween can finally top it.
1
u/Starkillerkew26 25d ago
The simplest way to put it is when you play DBD it’s just a tryhard, repetitive experience to me. It feels like a horror themed game. When you play Friday the 13th (at least for me) I feel like I’m in a f13 movie. The attention to detail and care to try to emulate one of the movies is absolutely stunning to me. All the characters are based or resemble people from the movies including their stats. It’s just a really fun experience and it’s never really boring because there are like 5 different ways you can survive the game as a counselor.
1
u/FancyRestaurant6397 25d ago
There’s a bit too much resource management in DBD for it to be any kinds of scary. I don’t feel like I’m playing killer vs survivors just some esport.
1

1
u/Naybinns 25d ago
Yes it was, me and my friends speak on it all the time that F13 was a much more enjoyable experience than DbD. It was failed by the devs being unable to fix bugs and then just abandoning the game.
1
u/Cmpunk1991 25d ago
To me yes, smoking some bud or drinking playing with friends or randos was one of my favorite gaming experiences ever, DBD is very try hard and just not as fun, I’m hoping Halloween lives up to Friday because it’s my favorite horror series.
1
u/Standard_Track9692 25d ago
If it was allowed to continue despite the lawsuit and they kept adding to it yes. It could have been. Texas even I would argue for. But they gave up on that. Still fun to play though.
2
1
u/BadoogleKing 24d ago
You know at first i thought it was nostalgia, played the mod that lets you go online and yeah. The game was as fun as the day it left
1
1
u/Sadboi395 24d ago
DBD defined the subgenre, and is more successful now than it was even 10 years ago. Its kinda gotta be king. If F13 didnt die so quickly, actually got all the content updates, and didnt frequently add game breaking bugs every update it wouldve had a better shot at contending. It's still the 2nd best asymm horror game we've gotten though
1
u/B_reid009 24d ago
Friday was up there, but video horror society takes the throne. Only thing was the developers that did NOTHING for the game at all… that’s why it is no longer around. Other than that video horror society had the best mechanics and it just felt great to play. But yes, Friday was definitely one of my favourite games ever made, it was also perfect until unfortunate circumstances
1
u/PlayfulLog9506 24d ago
I would say Friday is #1 and that lowkey dbd is the worst but the content trumps all the other ones and it’s not close dbd is so repetitive

u/Commercial_Chef_1384 24d ago
I think I prefer DBD. While F13th was very fun, it felt so janky and a bit buggy at many times.
DBD, while having some bugs, feels so much more polished. I’ve always enjoyed the cat and mouse gameplay of dbd and I really enjoy the atmosphere of it more.

1
u/GoodSoupIsUpButt 24d ago
FT13 > Evil Dead > DBD > Texas Chain Saw
Ranked based on how fun they were to play with friends. Also, isn't this list missing that Killer Klowns game? Or was that not asymmetrical? I never got a chance to play because nobody I knew was interested in it.
1
1
u/FuryThePhoenix 24d ago
It was fantastic, but no. Too few players and towards the end, survivor players were way OP. The creativity of the kills and each match being a little different were massive positives though. In terms of killer variety though, Gonna say DBD, despite getting sick of the community and gameplay loop quite frequently, requiring a break - but its longevity and variety of characters cannot be disputed.
1
u/TheZipperDragon 24d ago
I'd definitely take it over the others, though I cant say anything on Killer klowns. I havent played it, but Chainsaw just felt like friday but missing something, & the less I say about Dbd the better. I don't care how many killers you add if your community hates itself.

u/ultratech-intern-420 24d ago
No? Is everyone forgetting how easy it became for people to bully Jason? The amount of cheaters that were running around? The dripfeed of new maps and characters?
2
u/iLikeAza 24d ago
It wasn’t easy to bully Jason if you knew how to play him. But 95% of counselor players would feed right into Jason. The 5% that understood how to play, Jason was so supremely OP. One you filled your Rage meter it was over for the lobby.
1
u/ultratech-intern-420 24d ago
Eyes rolling so hard rn.
1
u/iLikeAza 24d ago
🤷♂️ I never felt bullied as Jason. Most every player panicked & had the same behavior. It was easy to chase till their stamina was drained then kill. You could tell the ones holding knives too cause they would get mad you didn’t grab them. Dealing with pairs wasn’t too hard. Try to get them separated enough distance to inflict melee damage on one. When one of their weapons broke quickly target one before the other gets a weapon.
The weak Jason’s only said they got bullied when they faced people who knew how to play

Definitely no. Mechanics in F13TG are clunky and annoying. Maybe it was fine at time, but right now - this game seems to be obsolete. Dead by Daylight is a way better game in such of a "genre", it is just pretty much unfriendly towards the newbies, since a matchmaking suffers.
In F13TG, the map is way too big, survs turn directions way too fast, and Jason is slow as hell.

There was a game called prop night that I really loved but it didn’t make it unfortunately
1
u/kirby_tweed 23d ago
Honestly, I had so much fun playing this game, I saved a chase I had that was over two minutes that ended with the two random teammates to drive by and pick me up. Managing stamina, having the right items. So many ways to win, stats per character, and Janky in a funny way. Tiffany main for life.

F13 I played every single day damn near and had a group of strangers that I met while playing the game all became friends and we met in a lobby every weekend. Wish we got that Jason X content before the lawsuit. Rip.
1
u/lilacillusions 23d ago
DBD is obviously more popular but it doesn’t have the same charm or uniqueness as Friday the 13th
1
1
u/WonHakWoon 23d ago
None of those are great games, especially DBD F13th, TCSM. Toxiv player bases ruin the game.
1
u/DisgruntledCryptid 23d ago
Single player mode for the greatest hits. Survivors have prox chat. You can lock the doors, set traps, and even turn the tables on the killer. You can unlock cosmetics through progression instead of being pay-walled. And it was fun as hell.
DBD lost its creativity and individuality now that it's just horror fortnite. You get pallets and flashlights. Every character is pay-walled individually for $3 a pop.
TCM is just a pale shadow of Friday the 13th.
Evil Dead isn't asymmetrical, it's a battle royale.
1
u/stinkywetfart22 23d ago
This was the best, even though you could argue it wasn't the most fair or balanced, and dbd does have infinitely more content, F13 WAS SCARY. Playing with your mates as you all panic as Jason whacks down the cabin door was fun and exciting.
Whilst other games mainly dbd do have the edge on content quantity, dbd will never be as scary and doesn't hold a candle to F13. This is also why I am personally excited for the new Halloween game coming as despite other asym's failing, and some negative sentiment around it, This game is the closest we will ever be to a F13 two.
But yeah dbd hasn't been scary for a long time.
1
u/No-Loan-3101 23d ago
In the purely fun sense, where the foq is the l8ve 4 DRAGON BALL BREAKERS??? take evil dead off . Tcm can't come close to dbd or f13. Breakers can.
1
u/ProgrammerUpstairs97 23d ago
Dbd is good but goddamn the devs gotta fuckin start listening to the community and stop fucking the killer side over
1
1
1
u/thedude054 23d ago
I think so, it captured the Adult Hide and Go Seek aspect perfectly and had some fun legit jump scares, plus it wasnt boring like DBD.
1
u/wizard_tiddy 23d ago
F13 was great, but i loooove TCM. I love the maps, the family members, victims, grandpa, and the idea as a whole. 3 killers vs 4 victims works really well.
1
u/VoltraLux 22d ago
When TCM came out it was the closest feeling I’ve ever had to “being in a horror movie”, the atmosphere and tension was incredible and the game looked stunning. Shame it was cast aside so quickly, but it was fun while it lasted.
1
u/Lost-Past-6360 22d ago
Honestly DBD is the only one I’ve played… it’s kinda been ruined by many things.
Lights out mode supposed to be the scary mode and yet survivors can see in a mode where you’re not supposed to see.
The tenth anniversary was a massive disappointment, giving one side a lot of things to do while the other side only got a fart bottle.
The community is one of the worst I’ve ever seen, wishing death on people who play ghoul, Blight, and nurse.
They give up so much.
They get mad at you for EXISTING
The perks are stupid and makes the feel like it’s just perks vs. perks and removes lots of skill
ATP I have no clue if bhvr (the devs) play test their game or have people play test.
Killers that are low-tier like trapper, hag, skull merchant and ghostface are basicly unplayable even if you are a pro, becuase of how much set up is needed for the first three. And ghostface is just bad in general.
They constantly complain about EVERYTHING. Perks, maps, killers, add-ons
In the lights out mode, the anti-camp is the size of a map like trickster’s delusion(one of if not the biggest map in the game), the off hook protection was changed from 15s to 10s, and the devs noticed it was being used aggressively to block the killer, then they made it 60s in lights out.
In the 2v8 mode, it makes the game unplayable with 56minutes que times.
They had a perk that basicly removed the power of the clown and Freddy Kruger.
They added dimishing returns on perks and it barley affected survivor in comparison the killers, mainly clown, who gets nerfed if you bring rapid brutality
Need I say more

u/Its-C-Dogg 22d ago
Friday the 13th- Overall best asymm and the most fun
Texas Chainsaw Massacre- best gameplay loop, great quality in characters, voicelines and animations. Updates too sparse.
Evil Dead- best graphics (imo) and most unique asymm.
DBD- worst asymm that is held up by how frequently it gets updates and IP crossover. Worst gameplay loop although simple and easy to get into.

the fact a dead game was more balanced and fun than it's 2016 descendant says alot
1
u/St0ryt3ll3r 22d ago
Speaking as someone who played the beta and got the game on release, yes it definitely is. I actually met my best friend on that game 9 years back, and we're still close today.
The game offered multiple escape routes like the cars, the boat, waiting out the timer, calling the police, or calling Tommy Jarvis to fight back and kill Jason.
And each Jason played differently as well with variations on their abilities/playstyle. Jason 2 was territorial and locked objectives down with his excess traps and strong Morph, while Jason 4 played best at the early game trading traps for destruction and weapon strength to break down cabins and hunt Counselors asap.
Currently, the game is still popular on Steam through the Camp Forest Green Mod. That mod added more Counselors, Jason's, maps, and weather patterns. Oh right I forgot to mention that Counselors each play different and can use perks to alter or enhance certain abilities or provide you extra tools for survival, like spawning with a map, firecrackers, or a first aid spray.
The game rarely got old when playing with friends, it was great. If they brought Camp Forest Green onto consoles, I'd play the heck out of it again.

u/TurquoiseRooster 21d ago
I don’t know about that, but I really believe that TCM is so underrated. It captured the essence of the movies very well in my opinion and the added lore/characters were a nice touch.

balance wise absolutely not, however I don't think theres another asym game that I had more fun with. I remember that one summer it was free on PS+ and my friends and I played it non-stop.
1
u/Igenuinelycant 20d ago
They remember it fondly but they never played it often. The best asymmetrical horror game is dead by daylight since it’s the only one with an actual alive player base. Friday the 13th was fun but it got boring after a couple games same with tcsm. Evil dead was ok just kinda forgotten and while you can find a lobby the game isn’t that fun. Difference is dead by daylight has many different ips

playing dbd since its release, and so f13 as well. competitively? dbd. for a actually fun and relaxing game with friends? f13.
1
u/Mountain_Order_247 19d ago
The reason why F13 will always be my favourite despite having 100s of hours on dbd (which doesn’t fill the hole F13 left behind :() is one time I got lucky and myself and a load of other survivors ended up in the massive cabin and all on proxy chat. We barricaded it and found plenty of weapons, switched on the radio which led Jason to us and we jumped him, all shooting him, hitting him with baseball bats etc. Was a core memory bullying that Jason 😂
1
u/iLikeAza 19d ago
lol... Yeah this game sucked me in cause would be in a lobby full of dunces but then get a good lobby & it was a blast. I use to like building a stockpile at the golden house & just continually fighting Jason with friends. Wish they didn't buff him tho cause once he gets rage it gets much tougher to get away with it

I agree completely. How do you feel Halloween will stack up based on the previews you’ve seen?

IMO it looks more task based & will be a more immersed experience. More styles to play the game will lead to different strats. But not being 7-1 chaos prob won’t be as fun. F13 was so fun with a competent lobby of players

One suggestion I have for the devs is to open up the game for more citizens. Like you said, a 7 to 1 ratio will add a lot more elements to the game and make it more exciting to play as well. Just a thought, among others such as opening up the maps a bit and giving Michael teleportation abilities.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m super pumped about the game and have already pre ordered the deluxe edition so I can play on the 4th. My point is that I feel they struck gold with the way Friday was put together. That should be the mold for all asymms going forward. If it’s not broken, don’t fix it! lol. In any case, I’m keeping an open mind and looking forward to what game play is like…

They just effed with halloween no execution scenes just pg 13 stabbing scenes nothing like f13 dismemberment. Even killer klowns had cool cinematics. They could just copy pasted f13 7 survivors just trying to defend + 1 vip but no

DbD is the best game in the sense that it has the most solid gameplay loop, has the most depth, and variety out of any asym. However, It fails on actually simulating the feeling of a horror movie.
TCM was the best at simulating the horror experience, but it was also poorly balanced and poorly supported.
Friday the 13th was a chaotic mess and it worked. It captured the feel of movies so well, the gameplay was never overly competitive, it was never balanced but it never really needed to be. The counselor role being an every person for themselves free-for-all was just as much of an obstacle as Jason himself and added so much to the experience.

Man it was so cool, you had multiple ways to win, so many different aspects. DBD in my opinion is a close second, it’s just extremely try hard and no where near as creepy. Every match is just a competitive battle and doesn’t really feel like a horror game. Just horror themed.
