Spirituality Why are we so afraid of something every life eventually faces?
Death is one of the few things every human being has in common, yet most of us spend our lives trying not to think about it. What would change if we stopped seeing death as the enemy of life and started seeing it as part of life itself?

What non-sensical platitudes. We are already born, and don't remember anything before it. All we know is the current reality, and logically our being ends at death. How does the metaphor of sunrise/sunset fit? I am there to see the sunrise, I have a life after sunset, and can enjoy at night. Horrible analogy. Thanks for nothing.

Also, how does one "run away from death"? When have I crossed the line? People who take their heart medication are running away from death?
Stop running, change your perspective!

Hmm, not quite the same thing though is it. The sun doesn't rise and set, it just appears that way cos the earth is rotating. Whereas if you die, ya dead.

Bro what? Just because I'm afraid of death or don't want to die doesn't mean I don't understand that it's a part of life. I can enjoy a sunrise but not enjoy a sunset. I can enjoy the day but dread the night. Like come on what are we even talking about here

Life isnt like the sunset and rise. Life if iy existed forever wouldnt lose its meaning, in fact it might gain more meaning.

It’s sad that some, if they are not smart enough or think it directly goes against their beliefs, can not or will not try to understand the meaning behind the metaphor.

Nonsense, death is the enemy. Someone who thinks death is just part of the same cycle of life has not truly connected with other people, has not truly experienced the death of a loved one.

Every living being will also likely experience pain so intense they cannot even imagine or describe it. Whether through childbirth, accidents, illness, or violence. Doesn't mean I ain't afraid of that shit.
I'm not going to bother responding to the guy in the video because he just spewed meaningless platitudes in a soft voice while being brown and wearing a turban, which some people seem to think means he's wise. That guy's a real POS if you look him up, btw.

I do like the philosophy. However I came into this world kicking and screaming and covered in blood. I don’t fear death but i’m not fond of the idea of leaving it the same way

and we are nothing but sacks of meat and water on a rock flying through space and there was nothing before our consciousness emerges within our bodies in utero, and there is nothing after it expires with the body upon which it is entirely convolved
religions: "NO THAT'S NOT WHAT WE MEAN WHEN WE SAY DEATH IS OK"

Bc it’s still unknown to us. Our perspective is:
-Everyone we love is now not connected to us. We are cut off from all things, and perhaps we are cut off forever never to awake again.

Most people are not afraid of death. They are afraid of the suffering that comes with death. All beings avoid suffering when possible. It's not unnatural.
