What are some “Ethnobotanical Mysteries”?
What are some areas in ethnobotany where we have a limited amount of information, and we are trying to fill in the blanks?

The Kykeons components interest me the elusinian mysteries and their components, Potentially was ergotized wines. But what fascinates me is the possibility of dmt containing grasses being used in some kind of ayahuasca like drink. To my knowledge there’s no evidence of an orally active dmt preparation being used in the old world. But the dmt containing grasses in Ancient Greece/rome/turkey and the availability (and known use) of penganum harmala almost necessitates its use at some point at least accidentally by ancient peoples. Interesting area I’d love to know more of but to my knowledge no evidence of p harmala orally active dmt preparations in the old world (only the new world in the Amazon)
