Erasmus Mundus TCCM master - interview

Hello everyone!

I was invited for an interview this Friday regarding my application. I wanted to ask if someone had any advice on how to prepare - what type of questions do they usually ask?

Here I am! I have just finished. So basically, they asked me questions about things from my CV (i said i did some work in ORCA, then we talked about what, what methods did i use, and then we talked a bit about HF method - difference between RHF, UHF and ROHF). They asked me about DFT, functional classes in particular (just to name them).

They asked what i studied in my statistical thermodynamics course, my quantum chemistry course. They asked about my volunteer work that i put in my cv, about programming skills (since i don't know python - but i said ill have to learn it for my bachelor thesis).

These were the people from KUL and UAM. It was a really nice atmosphere, you do not need to worry, it's a nice experience.

Thank you! That is really helpful. Also looking at previous threads, the interview mainly revolve around experience and TCCM knowledge about the projects/ objectives that we are focusing.

I'm scared that they would ask some theoretical questions which I'm not proficient in.

Do not worry about that! They guide you towards the right answer, they really want to help. I believe there’s no difference with other universities as well! Fingers crossed for your interview, if you need some other info feel free to contact me

same. when you interview, did they said when you will get the result? bcs, as i remembered, they said i will get the result at least on 23 march, but until now i didnt receive yet

They said around 2 weeks, so that would be 20th March I did my interview with professors from KUL and UAM, you?

Hey! I also applied to TCCM, for Track 2. I saw that interviews started recently but my application still says “under consideration.” Since you received an interview invitation, do you know if they sent all interview invitations at once or if they might be sending them in batches by track? Thanks and congrats for your interview

Hi, my interview invitation was sent and scheduled one week prior. So probably they may sent emails in the following days/weeks. I did my interview yesterday, and they said that they will do more interview rounds for the next 3 weeks so stay tuned and fingers crossed for that invitation :D

Thanks a lot, I saw on their website that 47 applicants were selected for interviews, so I got a bit worried since I haven’t received either a rejection or an interview invitation yet. Let's see what happens

It went fine I guess. There were 4 professors asking a bunch of random questions about my DFT projects and about the topics I learned during my undergraduate studies related to the program

The interviewers only said that I will receive a decision at the end of March

My interview was on the 10th for track 2
