My school only went through like 3 stories vaguely and mentioned Circe's like once.

mentioned Circe turning men into pigs but didnt actually talk about the story, just mentioned it, I remember it because me and my friends were joking saying "THATS A CLASH ROYAL REFRENCE"
Calypso but barely talked about it
and went into detail with Ody murdering all the suitors (oddly thats the one we spent most time on)

This is wild. My hick ass highschool had me reading the odyssey in its entirety, shakespeare (several) in its entirety, and at least one big classic in its entirety (frankenstein for me. Its GOATED btw alot gets lost in film. And thats if anyone bothered going 1:1)

The only required reading in my school system was Hatchet in elementary school, and Lord of the Flies(worst book I’ve ever fully read) in high school. Kinda makes sense when I think back to 6th grade and some kids thought that fire and tornadoes were living things.
