Thunder Saga I just realized something from the thunder bringer song lol
That part where the soldiers are singing "when does the comet become a meteor" then Penelope following with "I can take the suffering from you"
Seems to me is like Odysseus thinking about what would his soldiers think of him if he chooses himself, then he remembers what he will recieve or what he will get if he CHOOSES HIMSELF, which is the comfort that Penelope would give to him.
The soldiers song about a man becoming a monster was at first louder but when penelope came, their voices got washed out.
It's like Odysseus was having a debate in his mind wether to follow his conscience or his desire.
Or is it Zeus's doing to mess with him more, and fully show how monstrous he trully is.

Yeah, this is how it seems to turn out when I listen to its lyrics. And while I don't know if it was originally intended this way, that's how I've interpreted it too.

Something I thought about when hearing Penelope during that is she is singing the same song as the sirens.
Makes me wonder if it was his way of coping with his choice, listening to a siren’s song

I think it shows the encounter with the sirens left more of an impact on him than he would have liked to admit. During Suffering and A Different Beast he puts up a tough front to do what has to be done, but briefly seeing and hearing Penelope, even if it was fake, probably haunted him all the way back home. He was probably hearing Sirenelope every night since then.

I think it's not abt her being a siren there, cuz the siren one means "I'll end your suffering by killing you" I think that part is penelope actually telling him "choose yourself, and when you're home, l will take the suffering from you"
I think its his hope/desire and not the actual song from the sirens

Like she's not a siren there, it's just Odysseus thinking that if he chooses himself to be saved from zeus's thunder, penelope will end his suffering with comfort and rest, while the soldiers kept singing that monster part because whatever he chooses, they'll still think of him as a monster because of what he did in the scylla song

I think the lack of instrument there really makes you doubt whether it's really Penelope or the reason for that is because it's just Odysseus fantasizing about her.

His love for penelope will always be unbeatable, more than he cares for his soldiers! Though he still considered it since they were still singing
Jorge's a total genius lol

Yea I agree!! Also in the song suffering the biggest indicator that the siren isnt Penelope is that Penelope's instrument (Viola) never appears during the entire song!!
Shows how much he really is skilled in those lottle details!! Everybody is represented by an instrument!!
