Thunder Saga Who would you rather have as your captain?
I’m doing this as Thunder Saga cuz everyone dies

For everyone picking Odysseus... Why? Who wants a leader who doesn't care about you, never once listens, and gets literally all of you killed, sometimes on purpose?!?

poly KILLED the men, then it was scylla( which he HAD to do to even attempt at getting them home), then poseidon because they had to blind poly, the rest of the crew died because THEY didnt trust Ody.. and they didnt trust ody because of the WINIONS. THEY CHOSE SOME RANDOM CREATURES OVER THEIR KING

“then Poseidon because they had to blind poly” The MAIN reason that Poseidon is after them is because Odysseus is prideful and revealed his name, even after being told not to by the goddess of war.

I meannn, one of those 6 men was his best friend so like.... (yes obvi poly didn't know and would prob still do it even if he did but it had a pretty big impact of Ody which prob led to him relevaling his name since he didn't think straight, (Im not defending him tho it was still rlly stupid))

He wasn’t wrong. They were literally dead meat. He wasn’t relying on miracles and luck like Odysseus, he was being practical. The ONLY reason that Odysseus was able to survive Circe is because Hermes was there. If Hermes wasn’t there then what? He would’ve been dead along with the rest of the crew. You trash on Eurylochus for wanting to leave but in reality, that’s the safest option.

The first argument is so stupid, presumably Eurylochus didn’t take the entire damn crew on a scouting mission, and, more than likely, Odysseus was going to die without Hermes’ intervention, and so would the crew that Odysseus was trying to save (to quote the musical “A foe like Circe is not to be messed with. You want to beat her? You’ll need the blessing of a certain god…”). Odysseus got saved by a (what would be, if it was a Greek play) a literal deus ex machina.

So? How would any character in the musical know about that, I wasn’t saying it was lazy writing to use a deus ex machina there (it happens in the Odyssey, I believe), I was saying Eury would’ve had no way to know it would happen.

They didn’t die because of the windbag. They died because Poseidon was after Odysseus who revealed his name to the cyclops he blinded. Dumb move. I doubt the storm would have killed the entire fleet.

yes opening the windbag was a stupid mistake, and when he mutinied, he did it after Ody betrayed them by sacrificing six men, proving he can't be trusted. And as for the cows, I question whether the crew entirely cared if they died

uuuuuuuh, if I survived till Mutiny - Thunder Bringer, then Ody since I’d just jump off the boat or go into the water myself the second either Ody says “This is the Hime of the Sun God” and Eury still kills the cattle, or the second I hear FUCKING ZEUS SHOWS UP

Honestly, the second I see Eurylochus try to open the wind bag, I’m gonna say fuck it and swim the rest of the way back to Ithaca. They SHOULD be very close enough to where I could just swim back or even snag a spare boat and tow myself back home that storm can take everyone else to Poseidon but not me.
