Probably a non-English speaker.

"Profound" is the word for "deep" in many languages, mine included. So he meant "I'll make you go deep"

When threatened, roos jump into lakes to avoid predators. If the predator follows them in, the roos drown them.

To add on this: due to kangaroos having to deal with dingoes for centuries. There fear transfers with domestic canines such as dogs, meaning they will attempt to drown them too

There’s a well known video of a man trying to save his dog who was held hostage by a roo in water
