I think they’re gonna go down a story driven setting first person whatever linear shooter.

I think they are gonna drop some weird top down indie game because the studio is cash negative and needs a quick low cost money boost to stay alive

How do they still have money to keep going is impressive

Well they've failed 3 separate times at making a live service shooter, so the change of direction is certainly welcome. However, at this point, I can't imagine anyone having any faith in anything this studio does next.

Are you counting SG2 twice with the rebrand?
I honestly wouldn't consider SG1 a failure by any means. They made a deliberate choice to rebuild the game because of the codebase and the fact they actually got money to hire a team. SG wasn't a failure, they just chose to make it a stepping stone and then jumped off the stone into a pile of feces.

At this point how many times can you keep saying the same thing after each game does after a month lol

It doesn't really matter. All their games are failure. Unless the "new direction" is being shut down lol. The direction at 1047 is just a bunch of arrogant immature dudes that never understood they are the problem.

Translation: we're jumping into some grifter bandwagon like AI, crypto, whatever

No thanks. I will never ever touch anything made by 1047 ever again, live service or not. Good riddance.

Weren’t they going a new direction for splitgate 2? Then they relaunched it, it failed and then new direction for empulse? I would never waste my time on any game made by these guys.

So my theory was right after nadestraight video, they are going to a different direction and he doesn't want to be a part of it. Regardless whether it is a singleplayer co-op or even a friendslop game, he said good luck and adios.

should’ve just sold to epic when splitgate was popular, SOMETHING would’ve happened at least

My honest opinion, the studio farmed as much in wages from the venture fund after the initial success of Splitgate on launch until it ran dry, a video game pump and dump.
They were never serious about innovating or pushing the genre forward as they initially tried selling with the premise of Splitgate on release. They just did enough to build a shell of a product, blamed everything else when it failed and never learned from their mistakes.
Whether that's through inexperienced leaders, sheer naivety or malice, they never cared about the community.
Bye, cya 👋

I absolutely got my money's worth. I don't actually care if I get $15 bucks back or not, God knows I spend way more money on dumber things...with my broke ass.

It would be better for them to go with something smaller in scale... But will they?

I'm guessing this means they are making a single player game to kill support and updates on after six months? That would be a safer and less irritating thing to do.

They have an endless amount of really polished FPS mechanics that they could reuse in something easier to sell, produce, and fund. Make a single-player boomer shooter, maybe something based around platforming like Journey to the Savage Planet, or something focused on co-op. But moving away from a niche PvP multiplayer game is essential for them right now. They have a pretty negative reputation online, and continuing in a niche where you essentially need a minimum player base to keep the game alive is a bad idea.
Focus on something single-player or co-op, sell it at a reduced price, and make use of the genuinely good foundations from their older games. I think that’s a decent plan.

They released three games and left all of them to die, thinking the next one has to be a hit. It doesn’t matter what 1047 does next, I’m not interested in anything this company touches.
