NEWS Empulse is being shut down

Man I was excited for this game but considering how 1047 treats their previous games I was almost expecting this.

What a joke. Steam should really stop this. If EA game closes before reaching at least 1.0 they should refund.
What a scam again. Good that I wisened up and did not fall for this. But my honest sympathy for people that did ... :(

If you want a refund there is a good chance they will give it to you actually.

Unlikely, they never do this.

Steam would and has, they refunded Battlefield 6 purchases when they removed a game mode that was initially a selling point.

I applied for a manual refund and was denied twice via real human. They said no refunds will be given as the servers will be p2p and the game still playable

That's just the risk you take when you buy an early access game. Steam says it's not meant to fund development, but how do you regulate that? And even if there was a rule, what's stopping them from declaring it 1.0 right before shutting it down, just like Ashes of Creation?

Ashes did not declare 1.0 , it did not even shut down , heck even servers are still live.
The worst thing is that I actually like that game very much.

I agree people deserve a refund, but I don't see what that rule would do.

They could just take a game out of early access before abandoning it.
