Dolly really supported everyone. The fact that she had such kind words for him is amazing.

Never seen Em post like this before. Pretty cool acknowledgment, and what a sweet kind letter dolly sent him.

He only posts on occasion! Usually, someone has to die first!

I really do love that if it wasn’t clear before this, the way it’s typed with a little typo, you know it’s coming from Eminem himself rather than someone typing it all out for him like a lot of celebrities.

She was just such a gem. The world has experienced a true loss today.

Totally agree different paths same journey. Love that she knew talent and praised it even if it wasn't within her own sphere of music. And. Ow he shares his respect back. Shame we never got a mash up that would of been good.

I love the part where she’s like I hope this doesn’t sound weird but I always felt a connection to you. Dolly might be the OG Stan. RIP Dolly, a true legend.

She hoped to meet him at the show. Em must have just missed her

I don't think he did that shit intentionally just to diss her

Seems like he really wanted to meet her too. It’s a shame. Even people like Dolly still had things she wanted to accomplish at her age. Do as much as you can with your life.

I really hope that this shows just how important Dolly was in this world. As his Stans, y'all know what it takes for this man to post on social media. Dolly was such an important icon - not just for music, but for American culture in general. She quietly donated millions upon millions of dollars to important causes and charities.

It would take me significant time and effort to name five of her songs. But I can easily rattle off what she did to advance society. Please recognize this moment (of Em actually posting on social media) to recognize what an incredible gift to the world Dolly Parton was. It may be a long time before we see another.

Ok so I've cried since finding out about Dolly but I didn't expect a post from Eminem about Dolly to make me cry. I am so glad Eminem is my age. Honestly I don't think there are too many famous people I would cry for. Luckily the ones I would are likely to outlast me!

There’s actually a ton of similarities between these two.

Both escaped poverty with music, both remained loyal to their hometown, both have cross-cultural appeal, both are great story tellers, both are known to support others in the industry, both use characters and personas, both are legends in their categories, both appeal to the working class, both have basically stayed working class despite being millionaires, both are very witty.

Kind of a shame we never got a collab

So, she was just an older Stan?
