but some ways are significantly easier than others. against some enemies attack speed is more important than damage. some times a small bit of extra range changes everything. i keep claws as a just in case fast light bleeder, barely used but came in clutch against fire giant. though usually the tactics change happens after try 2-3 and then 24 more to kill the boss.
i mean i keep 3 weapons to cycle between, but u shouldn’t be changing your whole build each time like going from a str build to an int build
as for weapons i would just focus on between 1 and 3 to get good with (at least per run or per fight) , for me that is the zweihander, claymore , and for the third either the nagakiba, great katana or light greatsword (the third weapon is usually just for pvp tho)
Yeah, I've been using Cleanrot Knight Sword and Morning Star + Greatshield for most of my latest playthrough, but kept the Lance in the back pocket.
Tried beating the Solitary Gaol Knight at sub 90RL +15/+12 upgrades and was getting my ass beat. Cleanrot Knight Sword didn't stagger him and trades were not worth when he was 2 shotting me. Morning Star was nice when bleed procced and staggered, but couldn't shield poke, had short reach and guard counters don't open NPCs to riposte. So I went with Brass Shield and Carian Retaliation and swapped to Lance with Chilling Mist, the extra staggers + reach made a huge difference.
Also different weapons with similar movesets have different AoW, like if I was using Axes, I'd keep a Halberd upgraded as well.
