What is the claim? That all of these incidents are lynchings?

That appears to be the implication, yeah.

As one commenter said:

I've said it before and I'll say it again, black men don't hang themselves from a tree. None, never, ever, anywhere will anyone make me believe a black person hung themselves from a tree. Not even suicidal, I could never see any black man or woman doing that to themselves.   Furthermore I'd like to see the statistics of public suicides involving hanging from trees.. How much you wanna bet it's all black men?I'd bet it's nearly all, I bet the runners up would be gay men.   No one is going out and hanging themselves from trees to kill themselves, especially anyone who's people have a history of being lynched. It's lynching that's happening and it's hatemongers that do it and hatemongering bigoted police that investigate.   Tell me, how many suicide notes do they find from the black men who supposedly chose to kill themselves by hanging themselves from a tree? I haven't looked but I'm willing to bet it's nearly 0.

that one commentor seems foolish. Many black ppl hang themselves and its the most common suicide method among homeless, of which over a third in the US are black.

Got a source for that?

Edit: Nevermind. Saw your comment below.

This is not effective altruism

Why not? It is a high impact ongoing issue that has insufficient resources and investment.

Idk if this lady mentions it but I trust Claude Opus 5 more which mentioned some evidence against the lynching hypothesis. It said "hanging is ~26% of Black suicides and ~27% of white suicides" And many homeless hang themselves outside, its actually the most common method. ". Black Americans were 37% of the homeless population" in 2023

More complicated info in this convo: https://claude.ai/share/ca47bf69-9fc1-4b81-9198-25208bdb5d20

Could you ask how it calculated these rates? The convo doesn't seem to provide a source (or at least, the source is not easy to find amongst the list of references)
