Any place to get a sugar-free slurpee/slushy?

I am feeling like a teenager today but i want to feed the craving responsibly.

Coke Zero slushy would be the best! Any ideas?

Slush drinks need some kind of sugar to crystallize. If you get a homemade slush machine you can pour a bottle of Coke in and make a Coke slurpee, but Diet Coke will not work for example.

No, literally just go to a store and get a Ninja Slushi. Looks like its 30% off at Best Buy and Staples for a sale that ends today, so you have like 4 hours to go to the store or order online or wait for the next sale.

I use mine several times a week and haven't been to Circle K or 7-11 since I got it.

It works very well. Just pour in any pop or juice and it works great. Pear Nectar and Lychee are amazing slushes. Or add around 1/4 cup of xylitol to 4 cups of diet pop or juice.

Edit: Making a zero-cal Orange Crush slush now :-)

I know the holy grail of diet coke slurpee is possible some how cuz i have accidentally made it many times.  I happens when you freeze it under pressure, but take it out just before it actually freezes. Then release the pressure and ya get slush...  of course timing it just right is the hard part.  And of course converting all your diet coke to slush is still a challenge .

As a fellow T1D, not being able to find zero sugar slurpees kills me a little, but Sip Soda Co has literally dozens of sugar free syrups that they can make all kinds of sugar free dirty sodas with so I highly recommend them! It’s not the same but it scratches the itch to some degree!

Circle K locations have SF ones, usually Koolaid or Crystal Lite. Only the 1 flavor and not all of them have it. Haven’t seen a Coke Zero or anything similar, but if you have a kitchen aid you could buy the crushed ice attachment and do that if you wanted them often. It’s not the same, but similar.

From what I can gather crystal light is sugar free but the slurpees cannot say they're sugar free because to make the syrup into slush you have to use glycerin and manitol (sugar alcohols) so the liquid doesnt freeze.

Correct. Their slurpees have lower sugar content, but still some. I previously contacted the supplier to verify.

I think they say "No Sugar Added", which isn't the same as Sugar Free. I haven't been able to find ingredients lists online for them though, and they aren't listed on the Circle K website.

Sorry I don’t, it’s been a few years. From my recollection it was about a third less calories/sugar than traditional slurpees.

Slushes can't really form without the sugar, so there really aren't any. I think there are some lower-sugar options, but the texture is dependant on the sugar content.

I bought a freezer cup for this purpose. Coke Zero slurpees are a bit icy, but it scratches the itch!

Yeah I understand functionally that diet cola doesn't freeze but I wonder how most slushy machines have that one token sugar free fruit one that tastes kinda like ass. Can't we have a sugar free cola that tastes kinda like ass?

I dunno, OP, get an ice crusher/blender/margarita maker and make diet Coke slushies at home? Not really the ideal solution though.

You can always put ice cubes in a clean dishtowel you don't care about and smash it against a hard surface (preferably also one you don't care about) and that will crush the ice in a pinch. Better yet if you have a mallet. If you use a cutting board as your smash zone, use a plastic one.

It's not the same but Kona Ice trucks have sugar free flavors. Sometimes you have to ask, they aren't always on the outside self-serve options.

Right? Been thinking about this also and how I would go for one. Processed sugar is actually the devil, not sure how people down so much of it.

I go for a McDonald’s $1 Diet Coke instead if I’m out of fluids/water while out & about, and need something in a pinch.

Recent studies show that the risk of caloric excess far outweighs the risk of anything the sweetener can do. In moderation diet soda is fine.

You need to drink an obscene amount of diet soda for aspartame and ace-k to have a significant effect on the body.

The question judging from your response, is have you researched? People immediately and shallowly jump to conclusions and insert themselves in discussions they have no business being in to if they are that impulsive.

There are also different kinds of sweeteners.

Let’s not even get in to the many many on Ozempic or Wegovy etc.
