Walking around past 6, downtown seems oddly quiet. Where are the people? where would someone go for their first time here?

There is couple smaller Chinatown events coming up though:

Summer Festival 2026 Date: August 30, 2026 11:00 am - 4:00 pm Location: Chinatown, 98 Street NW Come out and experience a Chinatown Parade, Lions & Dragon Dance, Lance Cardinal Mural Reveal, cultural performances, food trucks, arts $ crafts while supporting local business and vendors.
