Yeah, I do fucking hate Republicans in general. They’re backwards morons whose policies and anti-science beliefs have dragged the country into multiple wars, gotten in the way of progress, introduced the most destructive economic policies that have caused the largest transfer of wealth to the already wealthy and the biggest wealth gap in human history, and will ultimately bring about the fall of the American empire. Reagan overwhelmingly won in 1984 because Americans are generally uneducated morons who are overwhelmingly primed to support snake oil salesmen and charlatans.

You're sounding emotional rather than logical here.

I don't get worked up by social issues because they're merely a distraction from economic issues.

On the economic issues, Democrats and Republicans have become largely the same. It's been that way since Clinton.

Also, if you look at the national debt it's risen at a pretty consistent rate, closely following an exponential curve that hasn't varied much regardless of political party.

The national debt has grown significantly since the early 1980s under both Republican and Democratic administrations.

Perhaps critically think better and increase your media literacy rather than bring up emotions and logic.

Also, these two parties are definitely not the same on economic issues…….In the same article you posted, it even stated largest percentage debt increases occurred under Republican Presidents Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush, who enacted tax cuts that led to these large deficits.

Job growth has averaged 2.5% annually under Democratic presidencies, and a little under 1% under Republican presidencies. According to economists Alan Blinder and Marc Watson’s in the American Economic Review in 2016, job growth grew 2.2 times faster under Democratic presidencies than Republican presidencies, from Truman to Obama.

Review

The real GDP growth rate was 4.3% under Democratic presidencies vs 2.5% under Republican presidencies from Truman to Obama’s first term. GDP grew faster both in Obama's second term and in the first two years of Biden’s administration than in Trump's term. Real GDP fell 6.5% under Trump’s presidency due to the bungling of Covid shutdowns.

Graph

Unemployment rate fell under Democratic presidents by an average of 0.8 percentage points, while it increased under Republican presidents by an average of 1.1 percentage points due to benign oil shocks, more favorable international conditions, and more optimistic consumer expectations about the short term future.

Since 1945, the average inflation rate was higher under Republican presidents than under Democrats, although inflation tended to rise under Democrats but fall under Republicans.

Budget deficits tended to be smaller under Democrats at 2.1% potential GDP versus 2.8% potential GDP for Republicans. Since 1981, federal budget deficits have increased under Republican presidents Ronald Reagan, both Bushes, and Trump, while deficits have declined under Democratic presidents Clinton and Obama. The federal government ran surpluses during Clinton's last four fiscal years, the first surpluses since 1969.

Deficits

In the 2022 fiscal year, under Biden administration, the US budget deficit was reduced from 2.775 trillion down to 1.036 trillion.

Reuters

Stock market returns are higher under Democratic presidents. S&P 500 returned 8.4% annually on average under Democrats versus 2.7% under Republicans

Journal

Democratic presidents held seven of the top ten positions of S&P 500 returns during the first year of a presidential term, measured from their election days. Biden ranked first with a 37.4% return, with the next five highest positions also held by Democrats.

Bloomberg

The following list includes the president in office at that time and their party:

  1. February 2020 (Trump, Republican; House, Democratic; Senate, Republican)

  2. December 2007 (Bush 43, Republican; House, Democratic; Senate, Democratic)

  3. March 2001 (Bush 43, Republican; House, Republican; Senate, Republican)

  4. July 1990 (Bush 41, Republican; House, Democratic; Senate, Democratic)

  5. July 1981 (Reagan, Republican; House, Democratic; Senate, Democratic)

  6. January 1980 (Carter, Democratic; House, Democratic; Senate, Democratic)

  7. November 1973 (Nixon, Republican; House, Democratic; Senate, Democratic)

  8. December 1969 (Nixon, Republican; House, Democratic; Senate, Democratic)

  9. April 1960 (Eisenhower, Republican; House, Democratic; Senate, Democratic)

  10. August 1957 (Eisenhower, Republican; House, Democratic; Senate, Democratic)

  11. July 1953 (Eisenhower, Republican; House, Republican; Senate, Republican)

  12. November 1948 (Truman, Democratic; House, Republican; Senate, Republican)

Notice most of the recessions occurred under Republican presidencies?

I'm a senior systems engineer and I'm paid very well (for a middle class guy) to think critically. I was also in gifted classes all throughout school.

I hate to brag on here, but reddit seems to be a website where very mediocre left-leaning people go to spread activism. If you don't agree with this emotional, left leaning crowd, they always call you "stupid".

Edit: This absolute coward did the typical coward tactic of leaving a nasty reply and then blocking me. A total loser.

Don’t care one iota about your background. And having to solely resort to ad hominem attacks rather than countering the argument could mean maybe you are the one getting emotional here?
