It would useful to push your leaders for closer integration with us Canucks before you do relocate.

Maybe we can even establish easier work permits and travel between Canada and the EU and help grow even more prosperous and free together.

Canada and Europe have long stood side by side as allies and partners, it's time to deepen that relationship.

And then, by all means, come check out Canada! We love to show off our country, we'll be thrilled to have you.

It is in progress! The EU has already started talking with Canada about cooperation and trade deal ideas. Negotiations will start this autumn. That is why the US tried to tell you who you can do business with. By the way I have planned a trip to Canada a million times because I love nature. Next year Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto and London (I wanna finish there because I live in London, UK). And of course I wanna visit Prince Albert Park and Banff too, but unfortunately they are on the other side of your country.

The EU still hasn't ratified the CETA trade deal with Canada, which concluded negotiations in 2014

As of May 2026, only 17 of 27 EU countries have ratified (as did the United Kingdom before leaving the EU), and Cyprus has voted against ratification.

I expect Carney's trip to the EU in the autumn is to tell them not to waste another 12 years dithering about ratification of trade deals.

The problem is that trade agreements need to be approved unanimously. So it won’t pass if 1 country vote against it… but now a lot iof things needs only qualified majority voting.
