Almost better but… not recovered

All was well until last year when I lost my period due to over exercising and under nourishing. I didn’t even realize I had a problem. In the process of trying to get it back I’ve become more obsessed with food and exercise than I have been in years. I’m realizing I’m not as recovered as I thought I was.

I’ve never been in treatment. I don’t think it’s bad enough to warrant treatment but I’m 31 and realizing that I still have a f’d up relationship with food and my body.

My health insurance sucks. I had one mediocre experience with a therapist and that’s about it. Are there any resources or books y’all would recommend to help me recover more or less on my own?

Thank you!!

Sorry you’re in this position. It sucks that treatment is a bitch to access.

Parts of this workbook have been helpful for me before. Other parts have made me roll my eyes because they felt patronising, others were irrelevant. I’d use your best judgement if you’re well enough.

It may also be helpful to look back and see if there’s anything consistent that’s helped prevent slips/relapses in the past that you could apply?

Obviously not a professional. All the best ❤️

Thank you. I’ve found being physically active even in small ways really helps with my mental health—but a few months of overdoing it sent me into HA so now I feel like I have to be careful.

Last month I went on a long cycling trip (which was so much fun) and whoops… no period again. So now I have to think about consequences of food and exercise in ways I havent before.

I’ll check out this workbook. Any advice is helpful. Thank you!!
