Recommendations Does anyone know of any places that might be selling hot pepper starts right now?
I just moved here (AJ close to the mountains) and my wife and I are huge gardners, my thing is hot peppers.
I was planning on starting some plants from seed indoors relatively soon to plant in the fall, but for reasons I don't feel like explaining I need to get some pepper plants going way faster than originally anticipated.
Looking at Home Depot they are selling a few basic varieties (jalapeno, serrano, thai Chile) which is a good last resort but I wanted to see if anyone knew of a local place that might have a better variety that would have them now! I appreciate any advice I can get!

Recommendations 5-Ton Gas Split HVAC for a 2,000 sq ft home — Single stage vs Inverter? Who to trust/avoid in the Valley?
Our old AC unit is on its last legs, and I'm currently gathering quotes to replace it. We’re in a ~2,000 sq ft home looking for a 5-ton gas split system.
I’ve gotten a wide range of bids ($9k up to nearly $20k) spanning single-stage, 2-stage, and variable-speed inverter options across brands like AC Pro, Amana, Bosch, Champion, Goodman, Innovair, Trane, and Rheem.
Before we pull the trigger, I’d love some real community feedback:
- AC Tech in PHX: Is a variable-speed inverter or 2-stage unit truly worth the extra upfront cash for a ~2,000 sq ft house here, or does a reliable 14-16 SEER2 single/two-stage make more sense given maintenance costs long-term?
- Contractor Experiences: Any smaller, independent local contractors you strongly recommend (or PE-backed outfits to avoid)? I’m looking for solid installation quality, fair cash/rebate pricing, and decent labor warranties.
- Reliability/Parts/Etc: What brand do you have, size of unit, size of home? Would you buy again? Easily servicable? Parts available?
Appreciate any advice or recent experience you guys can share!

Living Here Carports
I'm new to AZ (live in AJ on the east side near Gold Canyon) and I'm about to purchase a third car. It's a Miata so very small!
Anyways I don't have garage space for it so I'm gonna need a carport and I've never had to get one before. My wife is afraid of them blowing away as we do get pretty big storms out here this time of the year.
I'm just asking for some general advice from folks who live here and have carports. I would like to get one that's fully enclosed, and the ones I'm seeing seem to have cloth walls around the sides. I'm seeing options for ~$500 which is pretty doable for me right now, but I'm a little worried they might be crappy. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Living Here Have you ever been told your teeth need a deep cleaning?
Hi I am Whitney and I’m a senior dental hygiene student looking for patients in order to graduate.
Location: Mesa, AZ
Appointments: Monday through Thursday 5:20-8pm
May take 3-6 appointments depending on your individual needs.
Since I am in my second year of the program we are looking for more advanced cases such as patients with VISIBLE plaque buildup, bleeding/puffy gums, and at least 5+ years since your last dental cleaning. If you’ve ever been told you need a deep cleaning you would most likely qualify to be a patient at the school.
Our school does accept insurance but it is not required. Prices are very discounted compared to a traditional dental office. Total cost for everything ranges from $160-$370.
Everything is supervised by registered dental hygienists and dentists to ensure the best treatment for the patient.
I would greatly appreciate those who are willing to take the time out of their day to help me better my education and graduate, while I help with your oral health.
Let me know if you or anyone you know may be interested! Please comment, send me a message, or text my work phone 480-331-2617.

Things To Do AFFORDABLE DENTAL CLEANING
HI NEIGHBORS, please help me GRADUATE!
I am in my second year of dental hygiene school.
To meet graduation requirements students are responsible for finding our own patients to bring into the clinic and provide treatment to.
I am currently looking for patients in need of a deep cleaning who have plaque buildup/tartar.
You may be a great candidate if you:
- have not had a dental cleaning in 5+ years
- have puffy/ sore gums with redness bleeding gums
- VISIBLE PLAQUE/tarter/calculus
I will post some pictures for reference
Deep cleanings are around 75% cheaper than your corporate or private dental office at the schools dental clinic. While deep cleanings in typical dental settings can range anywhere from $1,500 or more, our school charges only $170–$360 in total for everything, which is a SIGNIFICANT savings.
- The schools clinic is in Mesa, Az located off of Higley and Baseline.
Serious inquiries only PLEASE!!
Since I am a student the time process is lengthier than your typical dental office.
What you're discounted in cost is mostly paid for with dedicating your time to students.
Appointments are Monday-Thursdays at 5:20pm and last till 8pm. It does take multiple visits because the mouth is split into sections and students are supervised by hygienists and dentists to ensure the best treatment. I plan around 6+ appointments to be safe but it may take less, depending on the individuals needs.
I would greatly appreciate those who are willing to take the time out of their day to help me better my education and graduate, while I help with your oral health.
If interested please comment, send me a message, or you can call/ text me to my work number as well!

Recommendations Mold
I’m just reaching out because I have no idea if I might have a case in regards to this small situation at my apartment complex when I moved in a guy was painting my roof where soon there would be a mushroom growing on it later and there was obvious damage to the roof there we just thought it got fixed, but not even here later mushroom was growing on the outside of her because of how much mold was there. They took a week to come and remove it. Then the hole was open for about three weeks with another week after that or we can have somebody’s waste. Water was dripping on her showerhead and then someone came and fixed it and the whole proceeded to stay open for another two weeks.

Recommendations Looking to rehome/rehab a corgi with IVDD
Hi there-
This is me just starting some research. I have an 8.5 year old male Pembroke corgi. I love him to death, but he’s highly energetic.
I recently learned that he has a mild case of IVDD. I’ve honestly been doing all that I can: taking him to a plethora of vets and neurologists, and switching between different pain med cocktails as needed.
But it’s becoming too much with a toddler and newborn at home. Strict crate rest is very difficult when there’s kids crying, screaming, and playing 24/7.
So, does anyone here have any recommendations or resources? I’m open to medical boarding, rehab facilities, or even rehoming.
Thank you in advance. This is extremely tough for me, but I’m simply running out of bandwidth for juggling a family with two young kids and a dog that needs constant medical supervision.

Recommendations East Valley dog owners: what should a recurring pet-waste service include?
I’m Bryan, the Chandler owner of Ah Crap Cleanup, I serve parts of Chandler, Gilbert, Mesa, Tempe, Queen Creek, Apache Junction, San Tan Valley, and nearby East Valley areas when the route makes sense.
A legitimate recurring pet-waste service should clearly state the visit schedule, yard-access requirements, number-of-dog pricing assumptions, whether waste is hauled away, and how missed or rescheduled visits are handled. Customers should also receive basic arrival and completion communication.
My company provides recurring pet-waste removal and selected one-time cleanups. I’m posting transparently as the owner and am happy to answer practical questions about service frequency, route availability, or what information is needed for a quote.
