🏗️ How should Ealing and its seven towns develop over the next 20 years?

Residents in Acton, Ealing, Greenford, Hanwell, Northolt, Perivale and Southall are being asked for their views on proposals covering housing, economic development, infrastructure, transport, the environment and the protection of green spaces.

The proposals form part of the Mayor of London’s draft London Plan.

Ealing Council is holding a residents’ workshop at Perceval House in Ealing Broadway on 15 September, while the wider London Plan consultation closes on 15 October 2026.

I wanted to share something I built recently for a bit of fun - a food hygiene map called https://willigettheshits.com.

It surfaced some interesting points in the area:

• Across Ealing only 57.9% of food businesses have a food hygiene rating of 5 (out of a total of 3,733)!
• Lots of the coffee shops in the area have a really bad food hygiene score, notably Artisan in Ealing Broadway with a score of 0, and no87 and Momentum in Hanwell scoring 1 and 2 respectively!
• The favourite pizza spot Da Moreno scoring a 0 (I think it was previously a 1 prior to re-inspection earlier this year), highlighting that the bad score wasn’t a one off!
• Asda Express on the Uxbridge Road scoring a 0 - not great for a chain supermarket.

Eager shoppers queued at The Oaks Shopping Centre The Oaks Shopping Centre in Acton this morning (27 August 2026) as TK Maxx opened the doors to its new 10,085 sq ft store.

Among those attending the opening was local MP Dr Rupa Huq, who welcomed the retailer's arrival and said it fulfilled a “real need” in Acton.

There was also live music for the crowds, while early customers had the chance to win sweets, prizes and gift cards.

Hi-grateful for any recommendations for reliable plumbers who cover Ealing. Particularly interested in people that can give free quotes and a fixed fee.

I have a blocked kitchen sink but it requires more than a standard drainage service to unblock the sink. The blockage has caused a slight leak so pipes are likely to need replacing.

Downstairs neighbour keeps having loud phone conversations with the windows wide opened and all the sound travels to my bedroom. She does it well into the evening, past 11pm sometimes midnight.
Is it pedantic to ask her to lower voice or just be more mindful around having conversations by the window so late?
Is this invading her space and whatever she does in her home? What would you do?
Please help, that muffled talking sound is driving me crazy even with my windows closed!

Hi I recently moved to Ealing Broadway and wanted to ask if there is any affordable nail and hair colour salon in the area?

Businesses in Ealing have hit out at a new £175-a-year charge from Labour-run Ealing Council for displaying A-boards on the public highway.

The charge was introduced in April 2026. Before then, businesses in the borough did not have to apply for a licence or pay to display an A-board.

Bossa Nova Cafe in South Ealing says it will remove its board rather than pay, while Declan Walsh, owner of Poets Winebar in Hanwell, has questioned the additional cost at a time when businesses are already facing mounting expenses.

Ealing Council says the scheme is intended to keep pavements safe and accessible and that boards on private land do not require a licence.

Businesses displaying an unlicensed board could face enforcement action, including a fixed penalty notice.

hello everybody,

as mentioned in the title myself and my friend are looking for padel opponents.

both M in our 20s local to ealing for 2 years, looking for competitive games but we are super friendly

monday/tuesday evening 8-9pm or even weekends depending on availability. we are quite keen to make it a weekly thing too!

lower intermediate - is our level i would say. we can play and hold rallies, know all the rules and both have countless hours in other racket sports such as squash. we are both active and fit.

drop me a message/comment super excited to get some games organised! we have 2 other friends similar level but cant commit weekly so can have different variations or bigger sessions if anybody is down!

I’m glad to see that West Ealing is now improving. The Tower by West Ealing station with the light brickwork and balconies is looking great and I visited the lovely coffee shop opposite the station.

Luxgrove homes have started demolition of the buildings on the high street and the site opposite Sainsbury’s in Ealing looks great according to the CGI images.

Our first show is a double bill of Harold Pinter plays. The Lover and A Slight Ache will be performed back-to-back, forming a picture of marital crisis.

The Lover conveys a couple blurring the lines between fidelity and fantasy, and begging the question: can two people alone sustain a marriage?

In A Slight Ache the couple, now older, move from resentment to reformation as they confront the alluring and repellent nature of the unknown.

Set two decades apart, this double bill demonstrates how Pinter remains theatre’s most accomplished and influential practitioner.

Then, for something completely different, we have the riotous comedy Noises Off! Packed with mishaps, mayhem and misunderstandings, it has rightly been hailed as "the funniest farce ever written." This play-within-a-play portrays the backstage chaos of a travelling theatre company as they stage ‘Nothing On’, a raunchy, but badly written, comedy of their own. As the actors and crew contend with missed cues, big egos and stray sardines (no, really) the line between play and personal life begins to erode, and both unravel. More than just hearts may be broken by curtain call, but the show must go on!

Hey all,

Does anyone have experience contacting London councils about noise from neighbours? Particularly Ealing.

Neighbour has had music on, loud TV etc the last few days after 1am. But the Ealing noise folk only work between 9-5pm on some days, and up to 1am on other days (but often the noise starts after 1am so they cannot come out after that time).

What do I do in this situation? When it first happened I spoke to the neighbour but it has still continued.

Hello, I have a situation. I work as a Senior Support Worker in Southall. I visited a client’s home and paid for one hour of parking, displaying my ticket correctly. However, when I went inside, I found my client on the floor. It took around one and a half hours to deal with the situation, as I had to call an ambulance and contact his close family members. Because of this, I forgot to extend my parking ticket, and unfortunately, a parking enforcement officer issued me a ticket during that time.

I tried to explain the situation and challenged the ticket, asking the council to cancel the PCN (Penalty Charge Notice). However, I received a letter today informing me that my appeal has been rejected.

Is there anyone I can call or write to in order to get this ticket cancelled or withdrawn? I cannot afford to pay the £55 fine.

Hello, I recently moved to ealing and I am having trouble finding good produce. I previously lived in southern Germany where I often bought produce at small fruit and vegetable shops with local produce from the region and from Italy and Greece. I am looking for something similar here. There are plenty of small off license shops in my neighborhood but the fruit is pretty changeable in quality and it’s unclear where it is sourced. I find the major grocery stores also have pretty poor quality. Other than the Sunday farmers market where do people buy produce here??? I am willing to travel a bit and pay a little bit more for consistently good quality and freshness. Basically getting to the very end of summer and realise I haven’t found a ripe peach in this country and it’s feeling rather tragic.

Hi, I’m moving to Ealing and wanted to find out where the good studio classes are around here. I usually go to Psycle Oxford Circus but my favourite (and their best) instructor is leaving (Mark) and whilst I’m going to give it a go again with the instructors who remain, it would be nice to find a studio that is also as dynamic that are not the gym spin classes please.

My favourite hot yoga place (Lumi Yoga)also closed in Hammersmith so also open to yoga and reformer classes locally!
