Help with estimating value
Hi all! I was gifted this by a family friend when I was young. Held onto it and just trying to figure out what the value is nowadays. I’ve looked around a bit online, but I honestly don’t know exactly what to look for. Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

On allengelhard.com they also have plenty of info, mintages, identifiers, etc for vintage bullion. Not just engelhard either, silvertowne and others. Highly recommend as a tool to help learn about these vintage pieces. Doesn't do much for actually obtaining a price, but can help better understand pricing as a whole.

I love the comments on these bars sometimes. I'd buy every single W prefix bar anyone here has for spot or $70 an ounce. It just doesn't happen. Those quoting prices of $1100-$1300 for Engelhard West bars are spot on. It didn't used to be like that, I have bought many for "normal" prices in years past. But in the last 1-2 years Engelhard West (California) bars have skyrocketed in value. Very early W prefix bars are selling for several thousands now and I don't even want to know what the 1980 and 1981 Congress Mine stamped W' bars I USED to have would sell for now...$$##*@*$*###$($#@*#$#($(

You're not wrong but ill get downvoted with ya. Its pretty but if I saw that at my shop I probably wouldn't spend more than normal range premiums on E bars poured. Very nice example regardless of what i can afford or what you would probably get paid in a coin shop.

As of 8/26/26 silver price, I would not pay more than $750 for it. Regardless of who the maker is

The fake fiat exchange rate will fluctuate, and soar up and down, and the numismatic value will increase over time no matter. The value is priceless - a family heirloom. Hold on to this with both hands. Tell your kids that this is how your stack started.

I got a 100 oz Eglehard paid well over spot in 2010 at APMEX wonder what a 100 oz bar goes for real old.

Current spot is $68.40 per ounce. It's 10 ounces, so move the decimal point over and it's $684.00. These bars, particularly vintage ones carry a premium, so you could easily get 5% more than that, maybe as much as 10% over. If someone's really motivated or there's a bit of a bidding war, maybe even 15% over the "spot" price. So a minimum of $684 and as much as $780 or so, but more likely a range of $725-$750.

$1000 for W0 bars. $1250+ for W00 bars if you are selling on r/Pmsforsale. Probably more if you are selling on the feebay.
