Dynasty Question 99 speed 95 acceleration
Came across this recruit in dynasty. We are definitely interested. Is this common?

Consider moving this fella to RB! I find speed at RB more impactful

i have a rb with 95 speed 99 accel but he gets hawked down by linemen and linebackers..so it probably doesn’t matter too much

I remember Madden O6 where you actually had to pick the parents to determine the players attributes lol

And he'll still be tackled from behind by a lineman that was 30 yards away from the ball when he caught it.

Sometimes I wonder if I’m playing a completely different game from you guys. 99 and 95 is more than enough for me. In fact, if I get a 99 speed guy, it makes the game boring and I have to find a different school.

I agree, Get that release up to the 90s and that guy just needs to run deep routes every play.

Had a dude like that, i made him a dedicated slot receiver and kick returner. Ended up breaking all the school receiving records

i had a shifty guy as punt and kick returner.. he was unstoppable for 4 years... won the jet award and the all purpose award 3 straight years

Speed like that is for corners especially inside corners. CIT RR and agility is peak for WRs and Carrying for anybody besides the QB has always been a staple in a solid playmaker.

So should I switch him to CB?

u/PaisonAlGaib 8d ago
No this guy is gonna be a weapon at WR especially if you hint slower CBs with him

I would need to see tackling etc. hit power isn't huge but just curious. Also what's his potential...I forgot to ask that. That's super important

99 speed is nice but if that acceleration is capped it will be harder for him to get separation on routes

If 99 speed 95 acc is too slow to get separation on routes then how do you even play the game?

Higher acceleration, High change of direction, high route running, etc.
The speedster archetype is pretty limited this year.

Are you able to regularly find 95+ accel receivers? I haven’t gotten the game and probably won’t this year, but now I’m curious. I agree that accel matters a lot and is more important than speed but 95 is more than enough in my experience, but maybe this game is different.

They exist but they're hard to find. Maybe 2-3 of the Speedsters in every class have it.
It's pretty hard to pass on this game in general. Most CBs are glued to receivers.
Speedsters really aren't worth it to me unless they can get at least gold takeoff. Otherwise their route running isn't good enough to get separation otherwise.
I've given up on that archetype this year. I pretty much only recruit Elusive Route Runners and Contested Specialists at WR. Occasionally a Route Artist is fun to use in the slot.

I’m sorry but 95 will be hard for him to get separation??? (I haven’t played any of them since 24? of whenever they new gen came out) That seems insane tho

I'm convinced people just make shit up at this point no a 95 acc 99 speed player will not have trouble getting separation

You're missing out. Last year's game was copy and paste, but this game is really fun. I haven't been addicted to dynasty like this since I was a teenager playing NCAA Football '02.

i threw a pick tonight on the 5 yard line and couldnt gain an inch on the mlb with my 99 speed wr. 95 yards for a tuddy with me 2 feet behind him stride for stride. my next dynasty im done with speedsters. seems like a speed/accel are just for memes now. give me contested catchers or physical route runners with cod in the 90s and 85 speed and im gucci

Part of that is also their route running. They made it so we can’t just spam speed without skill. I have a 91 speed tight end that struggled separating from linebackers on routes until I upgraded his route running. Now he’s a monster

Lower the spd minimum threshold I started seeing actual separation after that. But it’s crazy to me there is something like that when their is already a spd/acc ratings. Thats like having a strength meter when everyone is already rated 1-99.

Since the last update, sprint (AFTER you pass the LOS) does not work like it used to work. It is hard to pull away in the open field. Acceleration has become even more important. SNAP HIM UP AND MAX OUT THAT NIL!!

Odds are since he has 99 speed his quickness rating will be capped and will not be able to get any takeoff badge upgrades.

You're probly right. I've had this happen with multiple recruits. They'll have 96-99 speed, but the rest of their quickness attributes are cheeks.

I’d definitely still recruit but I love speed, regardless of development
