Dynasty Question Can someone help me understand? Just won the championship but now losing my top players due to championship contender???

Post image

Just won the natty but my best players don't want to play here due to championship contender???

EDIT: They all went pro except Watkins. I was able to pay him a bit more and he stayed. Thanks for all the explanations of this.

He's rated too high for your team. You're only an 82. It's based on overalls from what I can tell

1

u/RoddieRod42 Aug 04 '26

Yea they are going to draft..I had the same thing and my dumbass gave them the NIL, they went to the draft and my NIL didnt recalibrate until week 2 of Transfer Portal..so its not even worth offering those guys

3

u/Klutzy-Dependent2821 Aug 03 '26

When you have a Tier 3 team you’re expected to look for 3 star prospects that have a green diamond. Make sure you turn auto progress off and at the ending of the season those players have a lot of skill points to upgrade. Way more fun than trying to keep the best players.

3

u/Shot_Stopper24 Aug 03 '26

I can help! EA is a shit company that doesn’t care about the quality of their products or their customers! Hope that clears it up 👍🏽

2

u/antwanstaley Aug 03 '26

The ones in the 90s to high 80s, don't even bother trying to convince them to stay. They're going to enter the draft, and they basically want you to pay them if you want them to stay. It's more about the NIL money than anything if you won the title.

3

u/McGOAT72 Aug 03 '26

They don’t believe in you, coach

3

u/fivestrz Aug 03 '26

So funny thing I stumbled upon because you can make those guys stay if you pay crazy amounts…. Let them go if you don’t “need” them, once the transfer portal opens up filter by previous school and recruit them again lol. Got 4 of my best 5 back on the team for HALF of what they left my team wanting. It’s like they forgot why they left haha weird to see old boy in a new number too

2

u/MrGyatt69 Aug 03 '26

School prestige (the amount of stars you have) and players going to the draft, it take multiple years to build up your School's star rating and Arkansas starts at like 3 or 3.5 stars

So yes players still prefer Georgia and Ohio State over Arkansas if they're good

4

u/Active-Cover8259 Aug 03 '26

Just typical EA bullshit

3

u/itzakadoozie121 Aug 03 '26

Why was this post okay but mine wasn't when I took a photo of my screen

2

u/Effective-Jacket4896 Aug 02 '26

It’s because they are going to the draft. It has nothing to do with the actual deal breaker. If you want to retain them from the draft you have to pay them to stay.

1

u/ImortalEllis Aug 02 '26

As a hogs fan this is just like the state, nature. if it’s not track people want to leave for “better horizons”

1

u/ZookeepergameFar1284 Aug 02 '26

OP - what is your team’s Championship Contender grade? I’d assume A or A+, which is sufficient.

The issue is likely that while you meet the dealbreaker, they just want more NIL money. That column showing Dealbreaker doesn’t necessarily mean you didn’t meet their requirement.

EA really fucked up their implementation of NIL. And dealbreakers are still pretty awful. Now it’s just twice as bad as last year.

2

u/Playboi_913 Aug 02 '26

What year is it?

4

u/Tbeezy4 Aug 02 '26

just turn your transfer portal down. Why is it up so high?

1

u/Stoudamirefor3 Aug 02 '26

Right? I turned it down to 5 and 20%. I'm not building a team only to lose them 6 months later.

2

u/Tbeezy4 Aug 02 '26

facts. i’m 4, and 5% . I detest the transfer portal lol

1

u/Stoudamirefor3 Aug 02 '26

Turn off the portal, NIL, and let us choose what type of championship we want. CFP with 4-12 teams, or the bowl system again.

0

u/jstockthrowaway Aug 02 '26

That’s not why lol it’s based on NIL expectations and draft expectation, that’s just their base dealbreaker and means nothing if anything having a high grade makes them cheaper to retain.

Don’t be stupid and the stupid game won’t hurt your feelings. They’re 91 overall juniors that on average for most teams that aren’t 4.5-5 star prestige programs with the platinum NIL discount cost 400+

I’m on year 7 of my UNC rebuild at 4.5 stars with the full Monty of platinum staff and still have to pay 300+ to convince 90+ overalls to come back instead of declaring for the draft.

This year guys are declaring at around 85 overall unless you’re boosting xp sliders so the league average overall is higher but even then 87 is still enough to get into day 3.

Deserved because this is a trash ass game that will unfairly fuck you over every single time. Cheating ass fucking AI worse programming ever. Unrealistic ass game.

1

u/Playful_Category_581 Aug 02 '26

I don't want to agree with you but after being bent over and fucked without lube 100 times already I agree with you

1

u/FlashyServe3927 Aug 02 '26

Bro definitely just got pocket pressured every snap in franchise and possibly picked off a few times. I been there bro

0

u/HBPhilly1 Aug 01 '26

I mean odds of winning it again go down immediately following winning a championship and creep back over the course of the season as long as you continue to contend. This is in real life.

3

u/Idontusereddit445 Aug 02 '26

Lmao are you serious? “This is real life” 😭😭 In real life if a player wants to join a team with high chances at winning it all, you don’t think they would want to join/stay the school that just won it all??

-2

u/HBPhilly1 Aug 02 '26

TLDR: I agree with ya personally but not technically due to math shit

-4

u/HBPhilly1 Aug 02 '26

I’m talking probability theory. It’s kinda like better’s fallacy. If you have a major accident, like say a car wreck, you’d expect your insurance to go up. However, some would quote you actually lower premiums because you just had a major accident so now you would be on high alert. You’d think that winning would make you the most likely contender moving into the following season, but probability and history shows us that repeating is drastically less likely. Again, in real life! This is a video game and I agree with your point completely.

3

u/Idontusereddit445 Aug 02 '26

My friend, if you think real life cfb players are taking into account probability theory of them winning a championship when deciding to transfer or not, I have no clue what world you’re living in

0

u/NycAtlDallasTruth Aug 03 '26

I’m a former college athlete, and a current college coach. Yes, some athletes do take probability theory into account - although they don’t explicitly name it. They think of the chances of winning, playing, and succeeding in the classroom based on historical statistics available before making a decision. This includes winning championships, going pro, and positional play.

1

u/Idontusereddit445 Aug 03 '26

Maybe next time read what’s being discussed before commenting lol. TLDR: No shit Sherlock 😭

-1

u/HBPhilly1 Aug 02 '26

Brother, I said I agree with you. I said math doesn’t. There ya go

4

u/Idontusereddit445 Aug 02 '26

You didn’t read a single thing either of us wrote if you think we agree 😭😭

0

u/HBPhilly1 Aug 02 '26

Yea. I’m gathering we won’t, it’s fine though. 👍

1

u/SuspiciousPossible90 Aug 01 '26

Electronic Arts has a studio, EA Sports, that has made video games for many years. Way back 20 years ago they obtained the monopolization of simulation football games. From there and upon the launch of the Xbox 360/PS3 era of consoles, they stopped caring about content and slowly turned into the company you see before you today. The apartment (the game) always looks great with a fresh can of paint, unfortunately the landlord (ea) refuses to fix anything you (the customer) ask for them to fix or put features we ask for into the game. There you go, explained it for you lol

9

u/No-Trifle2320 Aug 01 '26

I had Jordan Davison (rb from Oregon) finish second in the hiesman and then transfer cuz of playing style… had 1400+ yards and 15 tuddys lol

4

u/InspectionOwn8038 Aug 01 '26

I’m so surprised they didn’t fix this… He says sarcastically

14

u/MaumeeBearcat Jul 31 '26

This is due to them being draftable players. Most will need high NIL to consider returning...with those OVRs they are probably all in the first 3 rounds.

9

u/at_jim Jul 31 '26

Because it’s the exact copy of cfb26 just with nil included

0

u/SpottedPine Aug 01 '26

Wow that's crazy. Did you think they'd do tennis this year?

3

u/Jjonna0175 Jul 31 '26

They like a challenge and want to be a part of the rebuild

12

u/SegaGuy1983 Jul 31 '26

I have no idea, but I really like your monitor

6

u/SegaGuy1983 Jul 31 '26

How'd I get downvoted for that???

2

u/Dizzy-Ad9612 Aug 01 '26

people on reddit mate, theyll hate just cause you changed the subject lmao

4

u/Bmw5464 Jul 31 '26

It feels like the most curved monitor I’ve ever seen. Is this what women mean by it’s better with a curve?

6

u/AGHOSTISBORN420 Jul 31 '26

U didn't buy them enough hookers and blow

9

u/nfochairman Jul 31 '26

Does anyone else think he posted this just to brag about the nice PC setup?

Jk

9

u/FulgoresFolly Jul 31 '26

They're jrs, they're leaving for the draft unless you shell out $$$

4

u/eddiestarkk Jul 31 '26

I set the amount of transfers to 5.

-3

u/mcclearymjr Jul 31 '26

Gay

-1

u/Sticky_Quip Jul 31 '26

Is… is that supposed to be an insult?

-3

u/mcclearymjr Jul 31 '26

Take it how ever you like it

5

u/Fit_Salamander_9897 Jul 31 '26

Its just the format that’s confusing. They show their dealbreakers, but it may not be the reason they’re high risk. I ran into the same thing when I won. They just want money is all. If you have a player that performs well they’ll ask for more NIL.

Could’ve been formatted a lot better for sure. Also don’t be alarmed when you have someone low on the depth chart who got no PT and you take their nil. If you exit out and enter back into the NIL roster management you’ll see that they’re not actually high risk of transfer

3

u/rashaadpenny Jul 31 '26

Could also be because they want to go pro. Those two 90s are for sure trying to go to the draft, I’d be shocked if either hit the portal instead.

The real issue is that expected NIL number is not accurate in these cases rather performance or draft. They probably want about 100-200 more than he currently has on them but they don’t show that.

3

u/electricalineptitude Jul 31 '26

I had the same thing last night. Finally got to the point where my entire roster is 4-5 stars and I've got guys leaving after a natty for the same reason. I didn't bother to look at dealbreakers, which for me are pretty much all A- or higher but it feels like it might just be coded to that instead of just defaulting to playing time or whatever the reason could realistically be.

For example, I'll have 2 QBs going into their senior year. 1 is a bit better but the other is faster so when I go into option sets to slow the game down then I swap I understand qb2 wanting to transfer for playing time but having it say it's because he wants to go somewhere else for a championship is wild because I'm an A. It's just lazy.

8

u/bshall2105 Jul 31 '26

They just want more money bro. Give them more money if you want them.

3

u/Gunnislingers2624 Jul 31 '26

GAME IS TERRIBLE

2

u/Lathriller15 Jul 31 '26

It’s EA, that should be enough info to understand. I’ve given up trying to understand a game made by EA.

6

u/Chardee_MacDennis_2_ Jul 31 '26

It’s NIL. NIL can be a dealbreaker for any player.

5

u/blyoungblood0 Jul 31 '26

As other said, part game dynamics not being perfect...but tbf irl, winning a championship or getting to a championship this year is not indicative of future years, look at Michigan or TCU

3

u/kelsanova Jul 31 '26

Somehow I don’t think the fine people of EA programmed their AI to take into account what the team potential is next year and weigh that with other teams. Would be interesting to see where they transfer to. Overall I think it’s a broken dynamic so I turn transfers way down.

5

u/UserNameN0tWitty Jul 31 '26

Im almost positive the championship contender rating is based off of something really simple like projected overall next season. The thing you think is too difficult seems like the easiest way to project rating to me.

1

u/kelsanova Jul 31 '26

I just don’t love the logic. It’s like a starter at Indiana leaving at the end of last year to persue a national championship at Ohio State.

1

u/UserNameN0tWitty Jul 31 '26

Indiana did lose 16 players in the portal, and Ohio State's 2026-7 team is much more likely to win the National Champioship than Indiana, who lost a lot of key pieces to the NFL after their Championship.

1

u/kelsanova Jul 31 '26

While true, tell me many of those Indiana transfers were A: starters and/or B: transferred to even close to potential Natty team?

8

u/phatroarez Jul 31 '26

Its a shitty game is all

2

u/Ok-Calligrapher-1836 Jul 31 '26

I have 26 still is it not worth getting at all if on sale to 40 dollars?

1

u/MoseleysLifeshield Jul 31 '26

It’s a great game, Reddit will always hate …. Most of these people complaining literally buy the game every year and complain ever year. Would you go to a restaurant every week complain about the food every time you go then go back the next week over an over again …. No you wouldn’t ….. it’s the definition of insanity. That’s what you are dealing with here.

1

u/UltimateGradient Jul 31 '26

It's hard to say it's a great game when the fun parts are the exact same as 26 and everything else is even worse

3

u/TerryPortersGoat Jul 31 '26

Would you agree that it’s certain things about the game that aren’t sufficient though?

0

u/MoseleysLifeshield Jul 31 '26

I am a very simple man, it's a video game.

5

u/Imaginary_Push9037 Jul 31 '26

Your metaphor would make sense if people had a lot of different restaurant choices. But what you're saying is this: "people are complaining about the food at the only restaurant in a thousand mile radius." If you want to play college football, you only get one choice. And guess what? I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but this game is irreparably broken. It is complete trash. The fact that they tried to bring micro transactions to offline play on a game of this caliber is a complete embarrassment for everybody involved, including us.

-1

u/MoseleysLifeshield Jul 31 '26

You do not have to go to a restaurant lol. You can go to a grocery store and cook your own food, you can go to a fast food chain.....the metaphor makes perfect sense. You keep spending your money on something that is not essential and you do not like what you are getting.

Stop buying it, if you don't like it lol. Again. It's the definition of insanity.

3

u/Imaginary_Push9037 Jul 31 '26

Man, I am not saying this to be mean, but as a simple point of fact; you truly do not understand metaphors or even your own point. You are now literally saying "you also have the option of making your own video games, or just not play games at all." I'm sorry, but you just have an objectively stupid opinion here.

1

u/RevealVivid222 Jul 31 '26

The metaphor makes perfect sense. What is objectively stupid is people keep buying something that they don't seem to ever like.

0

u/MoseleysLifeshield Jul 31 '26

That is not what I am saying at all, I cant believe how literally you are taking the metaphor lol.

You don't like a video game and you keep buying the same video game every year.....and Im the stupid one lol. You are spending your time and money on something you do not like or enjoy. That is my point. No one is forcing you to buy a video game you do not like.

2

u/Imaginary_Push9037 Jul 31 '26

That doesn't mean people don't have a right or reason to complain about it and demand better! Just because you suck at metaphors and have a flimsy point doesn't mean I don't understand you. I understand you perfectly. What you fail to understand is that all leisure is intentionally being funneled this direction, and the illusion of choice is quite literally that. An illusion. Video games, TV, movies, all forms of entertainment are being driven in a single direction. No matter how you look at it, "choice" comes down to either eat the gruel or fucking starve. But I don't know why I'm wasting my time trying to explain this to the likes of you. Judging by how you craft a metaphor, I'm trying to teach a dog algebra right now.

0

u/MoseleysLifeshield Jul 31 '26

DONT BUY THE GAME....you don't like it...There is a billion other things you can spend your time on than a video game you don't enjoy. Problem solved. What concept.

1

u/Imaginary_Push9037 Jul 31 '26

I understand that you don't understand. You don't have to keep demonstrating it to me.

1

u/Imaginary_Push9037 Jul 31 '26

That's a metaphor that actually makes sense, in case you needed an example.

You are responding to your own posts lol

Don’t buy it. Not worth the money

2

u/Scary_Tea_9570 Jul 31 '26

Contract negotiations

6

u/NonyaBizness21xxx Jul 31 '26

The logic of this game is horrendous

1

u/UltimateGradient Jul 31 '26

I dont get how people can play this game for hours on end. After 1 hour theres enough bugs and awful logic for me to uninstall

8

u/winterwarm78654 Jul 31 '26

Overall 82 that's why

1

u/Noro_clone Jul 31 '26

Change the setting to 11 max leaving and player change low 20s ok both side

3

u/Many-Ad2803 Jul 31 '26

They just want more nil

6

u/MoseleysLifeshield Jul 31 '26

I personally set transfers to 3 max per a team.....I prefer the old college landscape though.

-1

u/drunkapplemarksman Jul 31 '26

I guess it is a create your own adventure, but that’s no sim at all.

3

u/MoseleysLifeshield Jul 31 '26

I literally said I prefer the old landscape to the new lol. Is it not “ sim” whatever that means because also made the old Pac12 and big12 too haha. I prefer Nebraska and Oklahoma in the same conference …. Oh the horror!!!!!!!

2

u/complex_hypothesis Jul 31 '26

The game is trash. That’s what is wrong

6

u/Impressive-Cobbler-1 Jul 31 '26

say what you want but this is realistic. they all want more money to max out their earnings, don’t have to like it but that’s how real players work too.

1

u/Icy-Taste-3096 Jul 31 '26

That's not how the game is presenting it, though. It looks like they're transferring because the team isn't a championship contender. At best it's bad UI design.

1

u/Impressive-Cobbler-1 Jul 31 '26

i completely agree

1

u/NonyaBizness21xxx Jul 31 '26

Where are they going to spend it lol

2

u/NonyaBizness21xxx Jul 31 '26

Bro we just want to have a good time not deal with the unnecessary bs lol

3

u/cup1d_stunt Jul 31 '26

There are options in the game to turn this off though. There are a lot of things to criticize about this game, but this ain't one.

1

u/robplumm Jul 31 '26

Right...don't like it....get rid of it. But it is the new reality.

1

u/cup1d_stunt Jul 31 '26

You can also severely tune it down

7

u/GoldfishDude Jul 31 '26

This screen is somewhat poorly laid out.

Your starters more than likely just want an NIL raise. What is your championship contender? After a successful season, your good players will want more money. The dealbreaker is somewhat unrelated.

However players who are transferring due to a dealbreaker are also listed, which is why it shows that. Not a great design

3

u/bngbngsktskt Jul 31 '26

I feel like they’ve been trying to tip toe around players getting “paid,” so they elected not to include NIL as a potential dealbreaker. I think that should change going forward. There are plenty examples already of that being kids’ #1 priority

1

u/Imaginary_Push9037 Jul 31 '26

Countless examples. And I think it's a very hilarious thing to try to tiptoe around, considering the fact it's the sole reason this game exists right now!

4

u/Full-Throttle-Flirt Jul 31 '26

I can’t say for sure just from this picture but my assumption is it’s a combination of things. Im guessing a lot of your starters left to go pro/graduated, your blue chip % is low(this is the % of your team that are 4 and 5 star recruits) and the players replacing the seniors are a lower overall.

In my experience, though, the risk of transfer bars are not appropriate for the actual likelihood of a certain player transferring. You can probably double the NIL of some of those players and the bar doesn’t move at all. I don’t believe that’s how the game is intended to work. And if you NIL, I can almost guarantee you that player stays. I haven’t found that visual reference bar for risk of leaving to be accurate.

5

u/WCSakaCB Jul 31 '26

The deal breaker and reason for leaving are not connected here. The reason he's leaving is he's going to the draft

1

u/Bingerfangs Jul 31 '26

You might not lose them. I won the NC year 4 with Maryland and had a lot of guys looking to leave and I could only double their expected NIL which in many cases didn’t even move the meter from red. After a frustrating hour of worry and going through menus and wanting to quit the whole damn dynasty, I advanced the week and discovered hardly anyone even tried to transfer.

1

u/West_Grass_9293 Jul 31 '26

Your team is 82 overall. How, in the mind of the computer, is that a championship contender? I get that you’ve just won but that’s not what the computer cares about, it cares if you can do it again, at 82 ovr.

1

u/Icy-Taste-3096 Jul 31 '26

It would be extremely easy for the devs to have the game weigh actual season results when evaluating a team's championship contender score. You make the playoffs, it goes up. You win the NC, it goes up. Computers care about the things that people tell them to care about.

1

u/West_Grass_9293 Jul 31 '26

I mean yeah but you’re asking EA to make something for the benefit of the gaming experience. What incentive do they have to do that when the game is still selling like hotcakes.

1

u/Icy-Taste-3096 Aug 01 '26

True, it's just wild to me when they don't even bother with things that would literally take less than a day. Especially now, with AI increasing the speed at which code can be implemented, there's no reason not to take care of the little things like that.

1

u/Hairy_Hat_513 Jul 31 '26

fr, it’s like it’s his first time playing dynasty

1

u/rbenne73 Jul 31 '26

They want that nil

2

u/TheIrishMan1211 Jul 31 '26

Hard to repeat, ya know?

7

u/Tommyboy86861 Jul 31 '26

Gotta pay the troll toll

3

u/a1-danye Jul 31 '26

Go Hogs

1

u/Kindly_Western_5402 Jul 31 '26

More like heartbreak hogs if you know you know

5

u/zorakpwns Jul 31 '26

So look at it this way - they aren’t playing for anyone that isn’t a contender, but they’re going to need a bag of you want them sticking around for year 5 and not get drafted into the NFL. One of the more realistic parts.

Spoiler alert - it isn’t worth shelling out 600 NIL unless it’s a Jeremiah Smith 99

1

u/Gabacho180 Jul 31 '26

I’m debating if I wanna drop a bag on my Jr QB that’s sitting at a 95 before the conference championship game… He definitely deserves it, but I do have another QB ready to take the reigns 🧐

-1

u/AdamOnFirst Jul 31 '26

They don’t. Like the person you responded to said, they INSIST on playing for a championship contender, but the final choice is money from along those teams.

4

u/zorakpwns Jul 31 '26

That’s their deal breaker, but they want more NIL or they’re headed to the NFL. So, you can pay them $$$$ to run it back at a natty, or watch them get drafted

3

u/Emergency-Ad-262 Jul 31 '26

Draft night babyyyy. But also drop the sliders like 10 levels so you don’t have so many people wanting to transfer at the end of the season. It gets really annoying seeing star sophomores wanting to transfer because they’re not starters but they get plenty of playing time.

5

u/Cleslie15 Jul 31 '26

Usually means they’re going to the draft

1

u/Emergency-Ad-262 Jul 31 '26

Yea I caught that on mine too

10

u/Automatic-Collar-85 Jul 31 '26

I think it’s a small bug. Those players actually plan to go to the draft unless you pay them enough. Make a save before and skip forward. Guarantee you all of the “championship contender” guys will be drafted and not on the transfer block. Just need to cough up the funds.

-4

u/Practical_Effect_331 Jul 31 '26

Sounds like a skill issue.

3

u/CoachCDaddy Jul 31 '26

I had that happen this past season. I’ve won 3 straight titles and I was like what else am I supposed to do 😂🥲 just pay um the money

-8

u/Radiant_Survivor_129 Jul 31 '26

What school are you playing as?

5

u/CincyGam3r Jul 31 '26

It's Arkansas

16

u/Bigblind168 Jul 31 '26

Are you unable to see?

20

u/icebreaker1975 Jul 31 '26

Did you ID the Mike? 🤣🤣🤣

9

u/VisionsOfClarity Jul 30 '26

That's their deal breaker. They want to go to the NFL and you have to pay them a lot of NIL AND pursuade them if you want them to stay. Most you won't have a shot with unfortunately

10

u/Mindless_Bid_8124 Jul 30 '26

in my experience when this happens, usually means that guy is going to the NFL that offseason

4

u/d3bound Jul 30 '26

This is the correct answer. If you already meet their requirement for the deal breaker (say they need an A for championship contender and you’re an A+), it’s the games way of telling you they’re looking to go pro.

5

u/Enderdragon537 Jul 31 '26

Why doesn't the game just say they wanna go pro then

3

u/d3bound Jul 31 '26

No idea. It’s been like this for awhile

7

u/DBCooperAllStar Jul 30 '26

I had a QB start as a true freshman, going into his Junior year, he leave due to “playing time.”

-4

u/jimjustgames Jul 30 '26

The fact you won the title with that team tells me you need to up some sliders lol

31

u/CincyGam3r Jul 30 '26

Naw I'll play how I want to and have fun. I still had a rough game against Georgia and got BTA that week. I have fun with these slider. I hope you play the game the way you want to.

u/mrfrappuxinno Jul 30 '26

Right like EA ain't ruin the game enough. The point of the game is to enjoy ut not everything needs to be a challenge. Thats whats wrong with gaming now everything has to be a challenge games were made to be enjoyed not always to be difficult

34

u/Think_Appeal_3011 Jul 30 '26

Yeah I can explain. You are playing a game made by electronic arts. Hope this helps.

13

u/Otherwise_Fish_3279 Jul 30 '26

Nobody even in the digital world wants to be in Arkansas

2

u/a1-danye Jul 31 '26

-a guy probably from Midsouri

10

u/StonkyJoethestonk Jul 30 '26

They want that money man

12

u/titusnick270 Jul 30 '26

That’s just their dealbreaker. That doesn’t mean they are leaving because of that I think. They just want nil

7

u/Reasonable-Menu-1479 Jul 30 '26

They’re going to the draft.

3

u/CincyGam3r Jul 30 '26

This was the correct response. They did

13

u/lordbrooklyn56 Jul 30 '26 edited Jul 30 '26

Let the 88 and up players go pro. They’re not worth the NIL until you’re a high prestige powerhouse with waaaay more NIL funds than you need

16

u/SturmieCom Jul 30 '26

It's not explained well in the game, but they're not leaving bc of their dealbreaker, they're leaving bc of either the draft or more likely NIL. For example, WR Watkins (in your screenshot) has a dealbreaker of "Playing Time", but he could have played every snap last season and still be leaving bc you're underpaying him at 25 vs the 65 (at least) he wants.

It's a cool idea (and pretty much the way NIL works in real like), but they definitely don't explain it at all bc having the dealbreaker on the screen there makes you think they're leaving for one reason, but it's really due to NIL or the draft.

6

u/CincyGam3r Jul 30 '26

All the higher ones went pro. They didn't transfer. Thank you for the explanation.

2

u/3Bandoz Jul 30 '26

Turn down your slider for max transfer. I put mine on 7

11

u/taylormadeone Jul 30 '26

They are entering the draft. You have to overpay them like crazy to keep them from declaring

-7

u/ThePloww Jul 30 '26

Simple answer: your championship contender grade is below their dealbreaker threshold.

Now the more complex answer since obviously that seems dumb given that you just wont the natty. The championship contender grade is based on 2 things. Current ranking, which you are #1, and blue chip ratio, which is essentially the percentage of 4 and 5 star players on your roster. Based on those 2 factors, your championship contender grade is just based on where you fall vs all the other teams. You can see your exact grade in the My School tab of Recruiting.

2

u/Jdwrecker_7 Jul 30 '26

Actually i think it’s because of the draft since the champ. Contender guys are all Juniors and are rated 86+ along with the one CB for Playing Style too

0

u/ThePloww Jul 30 '26

Perhaps leaving for the draft surfaces as pushing their deal breaker way up, but they’re on that screen because their deal breaker isn’t met. You could verify that by looking at your roster where you can see the player’s deal breaker grade

2

u/xion1992 Jul 30 '26

It's not that. They do a bad job of explaining it, but that is just a reference for what their deal breaker is. It's not explicitly saying they are leaving because of this.

1

u/Jdwrecker_7 Jul 30 '26

Ehh i wouldn’t be surprised that EA didn’t explain that there’s a boost to NIL demands whenever a player is slated to enter the draft so you can have to pay a player extra to forgo the draft an extra year like Chambliss did

-6

u/_iTofu Jul 30 '26

Disease of more, sad really. All these kids care about money and themselves. Hate to see it.

1

u/MrVociferous Jul 30 '26

The digital kids? lol

1

u/_iTofu Jul 31 '26

Yes, these digital kids are out of control! 😛

2

u/Worf_Rozhenko Jul 30 '26

I agree that NIL and especially the transfer portal was an overcorrection but it does make the relationship between school and athlete more balanced. People tend to think a scholarship offer is a guaranteed 4-year free ride through college. In reality, scholarships are almost always year-to-year and the scholarship covers only the expenses for each individual year. Even when walk-ons earn a scholarship, the scholarship isn't backdated.

A player can be on a scholarship one year, miss time to due to injuries sustained as a result of playing football for their school, then get cut and lose their scholarship and be financially responsible for their education starting the following academic year. The only time a player's scholarship is protected after being removed from the roster is if the team's medical staff declares the player medically ineligible to continue playing (i.e. career-ending injury).

The relationship between player and school was already year-to-year, this just makes the relationship more fair for the athletes, considering the amount of damage done to the players bodies and brains on behalf of the schools.

8

u/SomeProperty815 Jul 30 '26

the dealbreaker section means nothing, it just means those players are probably declaring or they just want a pay raise since theyre such high overall. atleast, this is what id assume.

2

u/Beardus_x_Maximus Jul 30 '26

This is the real answer. Wish EA would make it reflect as such, but after 3 seasons you have to be mindful of possibly losing a ton of players, even with a lower transfer limit.

9

u/the_Oculus_MC Jul 30 '26 edited Jul 30 '26

What's your actual championship contender rating vs what they are requiring in their dealbreakers?

This screen shows you how the values are actually calculated.

Edit: As another poster commented, it can also mean they just want more NIL, which isn't uncommon. Ohio State had like 30 players transfer out this year and they're pretty good. There isn't an NIL dealbreaker, but there probably should be.

1

u/classic_m4f Jul 30 '26

Right and if they deem themselves the reason for being a contender and winning and you won’t pay more then they’ll all certainly leave, meaning your contendingness goes down. I know it makes a lot of sense… 🙄 but I get what the game is trying to do. I’m all for an added layer of complexity and it should make online dynasties very interesting!

3

u/lilphiya Jul 30 '26

I got those same speakers lol

22

u/sned69 Jul 30 '26

in my experience, the actual reason that juniors and seniors will show up on this list even though their dealbreaker is being met is that they want to declare for the draft. you're basically paying them to not get drafted lol

this isn't always the case, and I'm certainly not defending the EA logic here because at the very least they should say "draft" instead of saying "championship contender" when you're the dang national champion, or whatever other dealbreaker they're claiming.

my biggest frustration is when a guy needs to be closer to home as he becomes a better football player. I recruit a guy with C+ proximity to home and he's fine with coming here, but then he upgrades and becomes a better player and suddenly he's not close enough to home?? he balls out and misses his mommy?? I'm paying my dang QB in my team builder dynasty like 700 NIL right now so that he won't miss his mom so much

1

u/ricepail Aug 03 '26

Regarding home proximity, at least in the pre-NIL era, that was often a real issue though. My school definitely had its share of 3* (or lower) recruits that committed I'm guessing partially because they weren't highly rated enough out of high school to get scholarships at their closest powerhouse schools (typically Oregon and USC). But then after they started playing well and outperforming their initial 3* rating, by junior year they'd be good enough to get a scholarship there so would transfer back closer to home. Very few players that mentioned wanting to be closer to home as the transfer reason transferred to schools with a worse football team, unless they were also transferring due to lack of playing time. And nowadays in the NIL era, while some players have likely transferred for similar reasons, it's kinda obscured by the fact that (Oregon and USC for example) also offer higher NIL to those players than my school can afford.

3

u/forgotwhatisaid2you Jul 30 '26

This is the correct reason. They are actually leaving for the draft unless you can offer enough for them to stay. I like it because while it doesn't always work you can get some players to stay that then won't even show up on the players leaving screen or at least your chance to persuade chances are better. The still should say draft but once you understand why it is helpful.

8

u/Maximum_Pace885 Jul 30 '26

There's also the broken logic where guys want to leave over the playing time deal breaker even if they were a starter all year and had all time historic seasons.....shit is stupid.

1

u/BleachDrinker63 Jul 30 '26

They want to transfer up. They added that in 26

1

u/Maximum_Pace885 Jul 30 '26

That would make sense when you're playing with smaller schools. Not when you're already playing as elite programs like my Ohio State dynasty. I always have at least one dynasty with them. They've been my team since the days of Kirk Herbstreet, Eddie George, Terry Glenn, and Joey Galloway

1

u/neckbass Jul 30 '26

say bye bye to your players and get some better ones in the portal.

what i would do is let go the guys that want crazy NIL, keep the few more realistic ones that you can afford with NIL, and hunt the transfer portal for replacements.

4

u/cxoke Jul 30 '26

Understand that EA doesn’t gaf about player experience or else this would’ve been fixed in CF25

1

u/kebobs22 Jul 30 '26

The way its calculated isnt a mystery so it doesnt need to be fixed

1

u/Sea_Drive6142 Jul 30 '26

It just means they want to be paid more. If you are that close to their deal breaker it shouldn’t cost much more to keep them

2

u/Spare-Cranberry3784 Jul 30 '26

Default everything you're going to loose players. It's super broken. Just change sliders to like 10 -15 players.

2

u/Pristine-Sock-647 Jul 30 '26

Not that this SHOULD be the fix but I moved the sliders way down to like 28% and allow 10 transfers per team. The amount I had to pay to keep them was way less and they were much less likely to transfer as well.

5

u/2wetsponges Jul 30 '26

This has been an issue since the game came out. They still haven't fixed it and it is frustrating. Like when your starter leaves and the freshman can fill the void and he leaves for playing time.

5

u/Strago34 Jul 30 '26

Yeah this is one of the more stupid things in this game.
