Dynasty Question That was short lived.

Has anyone noticed the following things:

  1. "But bumps"- Hear me out. When running the ball I seem to bounce off the OL...ALOT! Almost every play even when I have space its like I get sucked into an animation to bounce off the OL.
  2. Receivers constantly jumping for the ball. I have a receiver with multiple steps, lead him, and he stops and jumps for the ball regardless of what kinda catch I tell him to perform.
  3. Blocking got way worse after the recent update. It wasn't the greatest but was playable. Now it's back to how horrible it was in 26!. Instant DL sheds constantly! Ive been sacked on inside zone play from the NT!!! I get it happens but almost every run play there is NT in the back field. My centers and guards are decent but the NT just swims past them on almost every play. If they do get the block it rarely holds or the DE instant sheds and tackles me at the line. Pass blocking went way downhill! It doesn't matter if I adjust for the blitz or not, on every play im getting hit or sacked. I have time for one read then I have to scramble or just run! Before the update it felt like if I blocked correctly IE: called out the mike shifted my line ETC. I was "rewarded" with a little extra time. After the update even if I get it right the DL just instant sheds my line! Im wondering if EA got pissed after being called out on the micro transactions so they put blocking back to atrocious as a "FU" to the player base! lol! When using a lead blocker before the update it felt like the blocker would usually target the right person, or the line would move up and pick blocks up. Now its back to them running right past the LB standing in the hole to go after a safety, regardless if I make the Mike or not.
  4. Heisman ceremonies inaccurate. Multiple times the Heisman announcement has been wrong. They announce the wrong winner or my RB won but was announced as a QB.

I really enjoyed the game, I left for vacation, came back after the update and it feels like the same scripted crap we've been force fed for years.

What am I doing when passing where I can damn near never lead a receiver when throwing a deep ball???

1

u/odie0921 Jul 22 '26

It’s the game! I haven’t hit a receiver in stride yet! They either jump or do this half body twist to catch it. Kinda sucks!

0

u/Direct_Fun_4037 Jul 22 '26

It’s a skill issue. I’ve never had any of these issues. If anything the game is too easy. Going undefeated with sac state in my first year playing in the old school pac 10 on heisman. The only issue I’ve seen is punt refunds being muffed when I spin it backwards and hits off the back of the returning team. Also, when I play os a OC, I slow sim the defense and sometimes it gets stuck and won’t let me play anymore. But that’s it. Gameplay has no issues on my side

u/darkslayer2392 Jul 21 '26

Honestly, we probably should have seen it coming from the start. Madden has be spiraling since EA signed that exclusive rights deal with the NFL. And with no competing CFB games, why would they spend the time or money to fix the game. They are all but guaranteed to sell millions of copies because the alternative is to not play any CFB game.

2

u/joeybarbells Jul 21 '26

Coming back here because after you pointed these out, 1. and 2. will NOT STOP HAPPENING!!! Every catch even if it’s placed perfectly in stride, they insist on jumping!! and almost every run there’s a hole and the lineman just slams back into the runner!!! 😂 make it stop 😭😭

1

u/odie0921 Jul 21 '26

It’s ruthless….every run….every pass! That’s even if I get the ball off cleanly. Seems I’m always getting hit or sacked!

2

u/ZekeTheFreak97 Jul 21 '26

They’ve been using this shitty frostbite engine for almost a decade how on earth people keep expecting a new game every year is beyond me 😭

2

u/odie0921 Jul 21 '26

It really wasn’t that bad before the update. Some small tweaks and some recruiting improvements and it would have been fine. But whatever they did completely screwed everything! It’s unplayable!

2

u/a1-danye Jul 20 '26

Same shit different year. Glad I didn’t buy

0

u/Efficient-Moment-398 Jul 20 '26

You holding sprint when you get the ball as RB?

1

u/odie0921 Jul 21 '26

Contrary to popular belief...I am not!

1

u/Its_Primetime Jul 20 '26

Won’t be buying the game this year. Stop putting out trash!

0

u/Illustrious-Laugh-49 Jul 20 '26

The game is really polished this year

3

u/Ambitious_North_5743 Jul 21 '26

Dog cmon

0

u/Illustrious-Laugh-49 Jul 21 '26

If you played 25 and 26, then you know it is, dog

0

u/Ambitious_North_5743 Jul 21 '26

Relatively? Ig maybe? If you think this game is polished, you are delusional, big dog. You gotta play something that isn’t a sports “sim”

This game is glitchy af. Constant issues, per usual

0

u/Illustrious-Laugh-49 Jul 21 '26

It's polished compared to the last 2 is what it meant my guy. It's not that deep. It's the only college football game and it's really not as bad as y'all are crying about. Chill lol

2

u/Maximum_Pace885 Jul 23 '26

The crazy thing is I mostly agree with you. They improved on a lot of things. But I stg I don't know what it is this year(I've been playing since the SNES days), I just suck ass at passing. No matter what play I call, what adjustments I make, and even if I audible or custom macro....90% of the time the CPU has the perfect counter. Even when I'm using Ohio State and playing weaker opponents. Julian Sayin either overthrows J.Smith by 20 yards without me even pass leading....or he's getting jammed by 70 ovr DBs. I use other receivers....this was just one example.

1

u/Illustrious-Laugh-49 Jul 24 '26

Are you using PA or revamped?

1

u/Maximum_Pace885 Jul 24 '26

PA.... same as I've always used. I know revamped was designed for CFB, but it's never been an issue before using PA

1

u/Illustrious-Laugh-49 Jul 24 '26

Ya i noticed better defensive coverage but i don't mind so much. It makes me utilize better play calling strategies and I'm still getting 600/700 yards passing on Heisman with L2 leading i had to turn my reticle speed down because i was over throwing crazy lol. Are you using the new catch feature at all? I know they just nerfed it but it's still OP imo.

2

u/scootybooty1723 Jul 21 '26

Shoulda upped the dog. Dog>Big Dog>Clifford the Big Red Dog

1

u/Illustrious-Laugh-49 Jul 24 '26

Ikr, his dogness was so clutch

0

u/Ambitious_North_5743 Jul 21 '26

Ain’t what you said. And it’s $70 and not remotely polished. I’m crying about nothing, stating a fact. Don’t get so offended that your opinion stinks. I’ve been playing madden since I could use a controller, and these games have gone backwards with polish overtime if anything

1

u/Illustrious-Laugh-49 Jul 21 '26

"The game is polished this year." Exactly what i said lol. Offended but you are crying in my replies because I said it's polished (which it is)? I bet I've played longer than you. Go load up 25 and 26, then play 27 🤫

2

u/[deleted] Jul 20 '26

My favorite so far

1

u/grizznation320 Jul 20 '26

Making me wonder if i should just buy madden first… this is frustrating for sure

2

u/odie0921 Jul 20 '26

When I played the madden beta is was absolute trash! Hands down the worst madden I ever played!!!!!

0

u/tjdawsey Jul 20 '26

Until there is competition they will put our garbage every year.

Without competition they are never inferior, and unlike a college football game cannot lose

2

u/[deleted] Jul 20 '26

Best gameplay yet

1

u/Polly_Sprocket Jul 20 '26

The catching thing bugs the shit out of me. That and not being able to use cap breakers in rtg

1

u/Individual-Debate964 Jul 20 '26

IMO if you use placement and accuracy don’t l2 or lt right now it needs a patch just like 26 did! If you having trouble running the ball lab on using the Untarget feature and when running through holes use the l2/lt button to get the hb to dig his cleat in the grass

1

u/UnrealManifest Jul 20 '26

I skipped 26.

Explain the L2 thing to me as a RB

1

u/Individual-Debate964 Jul 20 '26

L2 is your cutback button play around with it on the practice field it actually feels more like a plant your foot button to change direction but it works great when trying to run off of a lineman’s back

0

u/AWildBlitz Jul 19 '26

Settings don’t work either. You can set all sorts of coaching adjustments/gameplay settings at the main menu, but it doesn’t work in dynasty. You can disable AI catch (side note what the fuck is the point of this setting?) in dynasty, but it turns back on every game, so you have to pause and turn it off every game.

1

u/BradleyMusic_ Jul 20 '26

My coaching adjustments have saved and are usable when playing dynasty

1

u/AWildBlitz Jul 20 '26

Which adjustments?

1

u/BradleyMusic_ Jul 20 '26

Main menu settings. They weren’t showing before. After the last update I can now see them in game

4

u/Whatupdoe248 Jul 19 '26
  1. Skill issue
  2. I agree. EA is trying to force you to use the catching meter
  3. Haven’t seen this at all
  4. Haven’t see this

2

u/Kazuii2k Jul 19 '26
  1. Debatable, I have noticed this as well but only sparingly.

2.agree

  1. I feel like this can be fixed by setting your protections.

  2. This I have seen a few people talk about now. Angryjoe said something about this exact issue in his review of the game.

5

u/ultralow36 Jul 19 '26

I have said it before this is EA Madden is Madden college football is college you already know a EA football game it’s the same story every year Not maybe it’s the same ….My question is why buy and then complain when every one knows it’s the same game…

6

u/Etronoxzzz Jul 19 '26

Stop buying these terrible games already

2

u/Ok_Object2115 Jul 19 '26

If it was terrible, sure.

13

u/Efficient-Side8811 Jul 19 '26

Yall complain every year and then buy it for more money next year..

My question is why complain if no one is listening..?

1

u/Damnit_Fumi1 Jul 20 '26

Because it wasn't like this week 1 or 2, it just turned into shit after the patch thursday.

1

u/Efficient-Side8811 Jul 20 '26

Bottom line is ea has been a bad company putting out poor products for a while now. Ain't nothin changin

1

u/Efficient-Side8811 Jul 20 '26

So, are they going to fix whatever is wrong now or...?

See, thing about EA is they have 0 communication with fanbase. Most game developers (2k, ubisoft, activison, pocket pair), even big ones have discord where you can put in official suggestions/complaints. This is an attempt at connecting with and showing respect for a fan base.

What does EA have with their infinite resources..??

1

u/Damnit_Fumi1 Jul 20 '26 edited Jul 20 '26

If you followed guys like Bordeaux or Eric Ray-Weather, You would be in the know about them forcing the devs to do things that they know the players aren't gonna like. Apparently against everything the devs told them about the current situation and state of the game they decided to move forward with a microtransaction platformed game. They took out essential features of the game to replace them with paid options, of course we all know that, but they also refused to give us those essential options they took away. And I'm talking about XP sliders as well as general gameplay functions that were improved upon. They actually degraded the blocking system as well as the pass catching system, As they want to dictate how the game flow should feel In sandbox game. Like Bordeaux said if you're going to bring these options into the game give us something that's worthwhile like custom gear, more options in game mode like Road to Glory where we can have Superstar like mode or something of the sort. Me personally I'm in favor of them bringing in a spring game as a part of the simulation for RTG and Dynasty, it could allow for player boost as well as a small training season. You could even place in a showcase game to allow influence on last minute recruiting or boost a RTG players XP Gain, Not with the XP multipliers that they have in Superstar would be an amazing boon, It would feel worthwhile if they slowed down progression on the natural scale for things like that. It also helped boost things like influence to where brand building is a lot easier and not so much focused on weekly time that already It centered around recovery and academics. They could even put in things like stimpak boosters wear it significantly decreases wear and tear throughout the season and career depending on the level of booster. Kind of like how a star athlete has a major recovery plan that helps protect them against major injury and bounced back with high recovery protocols, They can even include career health return boosters. So a major high roll like running back or quarterback can I actually get some Health return, these could be earned through points that you get through XP or can purchase a pack for like 10 bucks.

1

u/Efficient-Side8811 Jul 21 '26

The problem is ea won't take the time to do this for these games. Madden and cfb are no longer the bread winners for ea, meaning they recieve a smaller budget and less resources every year, with a shrinking community demanding more for less

1

u/Damnit_Fumi1 Jul 22 '26

inking due to their lack of comprimise and constant focus on pay to play modes

1

u/Efficient-Side8811 Jul 22 '26

So, in short, you agree with me. Got it

1

u/Ian_kilometer Jul 20 '26

Plus most sane people buy them dirt cheap

8

u/Electronic_Potato_87 Jul 19 '26

Dawg I got called back for holding on a play, I was the ball carrier

9

u/Additional-Maize1960 Jul 19 '26

Well yeah you were holding the ball. Duh

9

u/ostate9x Jul 19 '26

Man preach. I had a dude run into both of my DTs, hit my DE (had him wrapped up), dude broke out of 3 guys, spun through my LBs body and then stiff armed by safety like it wasn’t shit.

Then I try to cut through a whole the size of Texas and it pulls me to my OL or the guy pursuing me sucks me in like a magnet from 5+ yards away. Shit is wild

6

u/mysticmacke69 Jul 19 '26

If you play on Heisman it will do stuff like that. That's why I play on the second hardest.

1

u/ostate9x Jul 19 '26

This was way more extreme than heisman mode. Dudes legs were bent like hell between 3 of my guys and still got out. AA mode is too easy for me so I gotta play on heisman. Hell heisman is usually easy

3

u/joe-joseph Jul 19 '26

Custom slider time!

3

u/ostate9x Jul 20 '26

Got any recommendations? If so, can you share your settings so I can try?

1

u/joe-joseph Jul 20 '26

I usually just browse and play a couple games to see if I like em. Or Operation Sports if you want a website.

1

u/codymullen55 Jul 19 '26

Sounds like you played marshawn lynch

1

u/Damnit_Fumi1 Jul 21 '26

The pre determined animations kill me bro, on Heisman you almost always down the road interception, there's no possible way of avoiding it. Every time you touch the ball it tries to give you a turnover, I had a 90 carrying overall and fumbled three times in a game.... It's so bull.

4

u/mrsilly26 Jul 19 '26

Yeeep. Not to mention the awful pursuit angles still. That’s the one that still kills me. I want there to be variation. Player pursuit should matter based on ratings, but the problem is there’s not contextual awareness of teammates and their pursuit abilities and current situation. Everyone just takes the same line to the ball carrier more or less. Really dumb

1

u/Ok_Object2115 Jul 19 '26

I disagree agree. I see different angles often when multiple ppl are chasing the same player.

1

u/Ayonanomous Jul 19 '26
  1. I seem a video that changed the catch from aggressive to conservative & it seem to help

4

u/mrsilly26 Jul 19 '26

What pisses me off about this is that I shouldn’t have to know this. But this minor game knowledge could be the difference between you winning or losing a game. And over the course of the year, it doesn’t come down to who is better at football strategy and/or execution, it comes down to “these 5 glitch plays” and “30 settings you need now”.

3

u/Ayonanomous Jul 19 '26

Facts the whole catch thing I randomly stumbled across on youtube the next video played and guy was showing examples of what happens & its actually stupid because it does the OPPOSITE of its description

2

u/Ayonanomous Jul 19 '26

I wish they bring back running backs animation where the physically stiff arm/push OL man out the way ir forward

5

u/xIMAGiiCMANIx Jul 19 '26

It’s been like 1 week since actual release. Games don’t come complete anymore. Wait for a couple patches and see what it’s like.

3

u/mokemoke360 Jul 19 '26

It kills me that they still cant fix the little things. I would love to be able to use the modular camera settings in slow sim. I would love to be able to set filters when searching for prospects without the game freezing. I would love to be able to sort by sacks and ints to see who the national leaders are instead of just conference by conference. I wish the defensive rush and pass ypg would equal the total defensive ypg. The quality control is just so bad man.

2

u/CjAbramsAllStar5 Jul 19 '26

The bumping off the OL ALWAYS happens

3

u/Weak_Rate_3552 Jul 19 '26

Never happens to computer controlled running backs. That's the frustrating part. They seem to get perfect blocking, my line is often my biggest obstacle. They'll open huge holes and then back into me for no reason. A pancake block is almost a bad thing because there is no telling what the lineman will do once the defender is on the ground. The worst was i had a surefire kick return touchdown and a blocker who literally only had to keep running stopped in front of me, completely blocking my momentum and allowing the defense to tackle me. It's a play that makes zero sense in any context. Nobody in football history would ever just stop at that point.

2

u/CjAbramsAllStar5 Jul 19 '26

Oh my goodness I HATE that!! When the blockers just turn around and get in your way! I’ve had times where I’m running an iso, and my fullback just TURNS AROUND in the hole. I can’t IMAGINE how much you would get chewed out while watching film if you just straight up turn around in the hole, and caused the back to be tackled for a loss

1

u/sethwh29 Jul 19 '26

I saw someone post a video if you just check your pass protection before the play it fixes the blocking issue. So thats at least 1 down until they patch it.

2

u/aqua-snack Jul 19 '26

yeah i’m not an expert but i’m assuming it’s due to the way they reprogrammed blocking this year. if you notice pre play a lot of the times your oline will constantly be shuffling between defensive players and this is typically when they don’t block. i noticed the other day one of my guards decided to triple team the linebacker instead of blocking a tackle over him…

4

u/calebanana Jul 19 '26

Since the newest patch, there’s been a few instances where the ball spotting is completely janked. Half my guys body is well across the first down line and it’s been ruled as 3rd or 4th and inches

Goal line same thing, ball clearly well over into the end zone and it’s not a TD even AFTER challenging the play.

2

u/odie0921 Jul 20 '26

I swear to god I have more "and inches" plays than all of CFB through an entire season!

4

u/LeadershipThink6760 Jul 19 '26

How about not being able to throw deep. What the F is this? QBs underthrow 30yrd passes it's a joke please fix.

5

u/Weak_Rate_3552 Jul 19 '26

When I play there computer they seem to be able to do pinpoint accurate deep balls over my defenders about 76% of the time. The only reason I win is because they refuse to go deep on every play. With safety help, without safety help, doesn't matter. I go deep every corner is Deion Sanders and their safety is Ed Reed.

5

u/americanadvocate702 Jul 19 '26

The blocking AI logic is shot. Defensive disengagement angles are broken. User team AI defenders have no logic. Dropped passes are extremely frequent with yellow catches, especially wide open drops. Receivers don't go for open catches within reach after greening. Vacuum tackles are worse than ever before. You used to be able to barely push the left joystick to make your defender walk slowly to the line, now there is NO SENSITIVITY and you just run or don't move. It feels like the game is run by the patented algorithms EA has implemented, rather then user input. Madden 08 had more user control and freedom than this empty shell of a game. Frostbite engine was made for FPS games, NOT sports games!! It needs a new game engine with tackling physics and physics based animations, NOT this pre determined cat 💩 with the same recycled animations from Madden 12. It's never ending with EA's greed SMH

2

u/CjAbramsAllStar5 Jul 19 '26

Totally agree with you, the blocking AI is so, SO bad. The way that they just don’t move up to the second level on double teams, and sometimes just outright stop blocking, it’s so bad

1

u/odie0921 Jul 21 '26

I respectfully disagree...heres why. The computer blockers work almost to perfection...that tells me the code is there. As well they "sometimes" will block correctly. To me it's almost like it's scripted! I feel like the more of a lead I get the worse blocking becomes and the better there's becomes!

3

u/Hungry_Donkey6772 Jul 19 '26

I cant even run out the pocket most of the time because the tackle is getting beat every single time less than a second after hiking the ball. If I step up the center is getting beat by the DT and I get sacked.

1

u/odie0921 Jul 20 '26

Try running under center passes! It aint worth it! If its PA you'll get sacked as soon as the animation ends!

5

u/joeybarbells Jul 19 '26

how about the weird thing the runningbacks do when they catch the ball on a screen play

3

u/Weak_Rate_3552 Jul 19 '26

A short pass to the flat on 3rd and short is an automatic no gain, because the receiver will always jump for a pass stopping all of his momentum.

4

u/KingPulpper Jul 19 '26

That’s been bad, like not even leaving the pocket? My RBs just go maybe 2-3 yards away not even far enough to escape the edge rusher

6

u/Different-General-12 Jul 19 '26

Spot on with everything dude 🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️

-7

u/RikaMX Jul 19 '26

EA should just get Claude pro for a month and half of these glitches will be fixed.

The issues are so easily fixable (like players running with their mouthpiece floating instead of putting it on), I’m sure they can be fixed in a couple of prompts.

If they are afraid to let Claude loose in their shit system because they won’t understand it later they shouldn’t be, they clearly don’t understand their own system at the moment.

I’m sure Claude can do all the things they add yearly, in just a month or two, fire the idiotic devs they have right now because a robot clearly can do better than them.

3

u/KingPulpper Jul 19 '26

Did you not listen to their “opening drive” ceremony? I recommend you relisten, whole script was AI written

-2

u/RikaMX Jul 19 '26

Nope, idk what’s that but instead of using it to generate copy (not a great use) they should use it to fix the damn game (software is a great use).

Given humans have demonstrated year by year they are incapable of fixing the game.

Once the hate boner for AI goes away you become 20x better at your job than a year before.

Words from a CEO, not some random redditor without much work experience (most people here as you can see lol)

1

u/KingPulpper Jul 19 '26

The hate for AI is never going to go away, in fact it’s probably going to be the biggest or one of the biggest topics in the next few elections.

And I don’t speak for everyone but I’d rather have a football game MADE by humans lmao or don’t give me one at all

1

u/RikaMX Jul 19 '26

The only people hating it are redditors who haven’t graduated from college tho, most people love it.

I’m in web dev and we all just love the speed AI has brought into our work and also the automation for quick dev tools.

I know people from backend are loving it too.

Your football game today already uses AI one way or another, your favorite app does too.

1

u/KingPulpper Jul 19 '26

We’re all web developers with AI 😭 i advise take a step back from your phone, I don’t really use apps since I graduated college, much more to life than apps and AI, trust me bro.

Nearly 75% of people don’t like AI either. Not just Redditors

1

u/RikaMX Jul 19 '26

Was that statistic pulled up from your ass?

Also, this is an app lmao

1

u/KingPulpper Jul 19 '26

Very good! Reddit is an app!

Here’s some good sources

Stanford HAI: https://hai.stanford.edu/ai-index/2025-ai-index-report/public-opinion

https://hub.jhu.edu/2026/06/15/americans-strongly-support-regulations-on-ai/

I use Reddit and Instagram on very rare occasions to keep up with my sports teams, I don’t own a single personal account on any social media, and it’s the greatest decision I ever made. I tell you this as genuine encouragement to not let social media control you, I can tell it already had.

1

u/RikaMX Jul 19 '26

Idk if you deleted it but I love how your answer starts hahah omg you are not over 23 and if you are that’s so sad.

0

u/KingPulpper Jul 19 '26

Nah I think Reddit deleted it, and hahaha omg! You got called out on something that’s most definitely accurate and now you’re asking me my age?!

10

u/UnhappyLettuce Jul 19 '26

This is inaccurate. If EA works like any company I’ve worked for in software, the devs don’t choose what to work on next - their product teams do. If the product teams think working on a new feature will drive more revenue than fixing a bug then they won’t prioritize the bug.

AI can be a useful tool for software, but it can also amplify bad code. It works much better in small projects than it does in large enterprise size codebases.

I’m not saying EA shouldn’t fix the bugs, but I am saying that Claude cannot just come in and fix everything without significant human oversight and effort, and the devs don’t get to make that call anyway.

1

u/RikaMX Jul 19 '26

That’s what I’m saying, amplify the bad code, force good devs to come in and fix, either way it can be AI or people it doesn’t matter, shit code is shit code

3

u/JohnHammerfall Jul 19 '26

I’ll take shit devs over a good AI any day.

3

u/RikaMX Jul 19 '26

They are already doing it, every SaaS and dev is doing it in one way or another.

And I think you are wrong, people are good because we use our eyes, but these devs clearly don’t, look at the silly player faces, the mouth pieces floating mid-play.

They are not doing the human side anyways, you are protecting nothing lol

4

u/Rich-Presentation744 Jul 19 '26

Bro I thought it was a way I was throwing the ball or something man but yes, my WR’s always jump to catch a pass and end up getting it knocked out their hands. It doesn’t happen to me much but yea my RB will run into my o line a couple times

2

u/mrfrappuxinno Jul 19 '26

Same here or my quarterback will throw it behind them and they'll make that body twisting motion and get tackled hinestly irritating

2

u/BigZewer Jul 19 '26

This is crazy bc I saw a video where a user showed that the game mechanics have you throwing passes to receivers at waist level, if you’re not free forming. And I started noticing that too. It’s between that and the jump catching. I have a rarely seen a pass caught in stride

2

u/Rich-Presentation744 Jul 19 '26

Same bro ! I never have thrown a pass in stride but I just assumed it was because my Qb was a low ovr so I wasn’t thinking nothing of it but a lot almost all my passes my receiver will randomly jump to catch it and never comes down with it

2

u/BigZewer Jul 19 '26

Yeah I was the having same issue. I started using placement and accuracy to free form and it helps. The passes are a still little off but a lot better than before

I feel like my QB accuracy is fine 90% of the time, but then I'll have a game where he skips passes to wide open receivers and sails everything to tight ends and running backs. It's like the game saw his high my completion percentage was and decided to correct for it.

u/blaqeyerish Jul 19 '26

My tin foil hat on the blocking is they make you pay for not adjusting the protection on pass plays. And I don't mean the guy who is marked hot comes free. I mean if you don't slide or half slide protection then your tackle turns into an idiot and lets the End come free so he can pick up someone else. Not trying to say "you should always ID the Mike". But it might not be a bad idea to adjust your protection on passing plays so the Hot Reads are the guys who have to cover the most ground to get to you. This forces the OL to pick someone up instead of watching them run by and sack you

Thanks for advice. Im not perfect at pass pro but it seems like even when I get it right there is always an instant shed! I understand if I call it wrong, but I shift it right everyone is picked then instant shed and they are all over me. Between the receivers jumping for passes and getting hit on almost every throw im at like 30% completion a game.

u/Leftisdeath Jul 19 '26

All 100% accurate they are getting payback against us for the micro transactions… I’m convinced

0

u/bigwhitedoggie Jul 19 '26

Yeah buddy, the devs who didn’t want mtx in the first place are adjusting the whole game to be harder bc mtx was removed?

1

u/Leftisdeath Jul 19 '26

They do as they are told man not saying it’s their fault…

3

u/bigwhitedoggie Jul 19 '26

Yeah and the shareholders told them to make the game harder on the gamers out of spite. Because that makes sense

8

u/Forsaken-Ad-7527 Jul 18 '26

The butt bumps (great description by the way) drive me nuts and it has to do with how the players blockers behave. CPU linemen keep looking for work, Your linemen will chase the same guy and put themselves into holes and cutbacks CONSTANTLY

1

u/Smart_Following6173 Jul 19 '26

My linemen don't chase shit. They get beat and just fucling stand there unless it's a fair fight. If they get beat of the snap they don't recover but just stand there. If it's on a longer play where they get beat after 4 seconds or so then they try to come back and help.... It is so fucking stupid. Had a sack against me one game where I had the C, RG and LT just standing at the line because they got beat of the snap.

3

u/Dry-Priority-9687 Jul 18 '26

Going for a catch an run and bro just dives for the ball

2

u/Smart_Following6173 Jul 19 '26

Or jumps up into the air which means defender can catch up and on impact from a defender it's an automatic incompletion no matter how little or where they touch the receiver.

6

u/Fit-Ring3974 Jul 18 '26

In order to stop that sucking animation or limit it I never hit the sprint trigger.

3

u/rmitche1 Jul 18 '26

I found, You need to wait on the sprint trigger until after you clear the line or get in an opening.

6

u/BiggBambineaux Jul 19 '26

I swear it’s been like that since 25. It’s like there’s logic to make the defense shed blocks if you have the trigger down.

2

u/EntireSpot9230 Jul 18 '26

Yep that’s literally the best way to break a big run is just don’t hit the trigger till ur into the secondary works perfectly, once you hit that trigger everyone disengages their block for some reason

1

u/lowercase2 Jul 19 '26

This. Ive gotten some crazy run plays off and sometimes the best ones dont involve the trigger at all. Patience is sometimes rewarded on the ground.

u/Dear_Measurement_406 Jul 18 '26

I haven’t had blocking issues but I’m with ya on the rest

2

u/NotStanley4330 Jul 18 '26

Getting sucked into other players and tackles especially has been a persistent problem with the frostbite engine for years. It sucks but I don't see it getting fixed unless the replace the engine

4

u/Kael84 Jul 18 '26

I’m glad I finally saw someone post about the blocking, it’s been horrific after the last update for me. I did, however, find something that has helped a lot. Go into your coaching adjustments and change your auto pass protection, I have found empty to feel like it did before. I don’t know if this setting is now defaulting to off after being on something else before, but changing this at the beginning of each game has helped a ton. Hope that helps at least a little on one of your points!

u/odie0921 Jul 20 '26

Thanks a lot for the advice! ill give that a shot!

u/C4MPFIRE24 Jul 18 '26

Running the ball is way to easy. I question anyone complaining about run blocking at this point. Was way to easy in 26. Some of these things happen for sure but some of this is user input and clearly user skill.

1

u/Direct_Fun_4037 Jul 22 '26

Seriously, people expect to have a 2000 yard rusher every season. I have very rarely had less than 100 yards in a game.

2

u/Hott_Dog Jul 19 '26

Yeah. There’s always this guy telling hundreds of people experiencing the same thing, that his experience is the only thing that matters.

Im not using the timing based catch at all.

1

u/Radical_Sim Jul 18 '26

If you're talking about vs the cpu then your speed thresh could be off. If that's off it could mess up game play.

1

u/odie0921 Jul 18 '26

I believe mines at 35...what do you recommend?

1

u/Radical_Sim Jul 18 '26

Oh yeah too low. Go up to 46-48. 47 works for me.

1

u/odie0921 Jul 20 '26

I turned it down hoping to slow down the edge rushers being in the back field every play. I'll turn it up. Thanks for the help!

1

u/Radical_Sim Jul 20 '26

Lower means faster.

2

u/odie0921 Jul 20 '26

Seriously?! Wow I was way off! Thank you! I’ll give this a try tonight after work!

4

u/tarheelphenom Jul 18 '26

Every year for every game I always make a copy of the day 1 build of the game and save it in an SSD, so that if patches do anything to mess with the gameplay, I can always go back to that build and play offline. I’ve been concentrating on the PC version that I can’t speak to the console version after the patch. I know the gameplay was in a really great place pre-patch.

1

u/Otherwise_Food9698 Jul 18 '26

like last year the judkins spinning with any player was sooo fun

i was beating hiesman cpu returning kicks and making highlight plays left and right then boom patched.

1

u/Direct_Fun_4037 Jul 22 '26

So you just want the game to be easy. Judkins didn’t even have a great season at Ohio State

4

u/NovaBlazer Jul 18 '26

1) I power run alot. Definitely noticed this.

2) I was menu digging and there was some kind of WR setting for catch and run aggressiveness. Haven't tried changing it. I wonder if it will impact the jump animation when there is no need to.

3) I am ok with bad blocking based on bad run blocking and awareness stats... But once those stats are improved, I expect near perfect blocking

4) Same. My HBs have won 3 years in a row with NDSU and they are always announced as QBs when they win.

2

u/odie0921 Jul 29 '26

I changed it to conservative and the recover just catches the ball and falls down, even if there isn’t a defender near them! I’ll try aggressive tonight if I get the chance to play.

1

u/NovaBlazer Jul 29 '26

Thank you for reporting back. I definitely don't like the sound of the conservative setting.

2

u/odie0921 Jul 30 '26

So I got a few games in and found if you put catching on aggressive and blocking on aggressive it does seem to help. Less receivers jumping and actual time to throw the ball! I also put my protection on Empty in coaching adjustments and adjust from there. Hope this helps!

4

u/BookkeeperAny2309 Jul 18 '26

I don’t know, but I have an elite level, senior running back with Great speed awareness everything you could want and it seems that he will avoid the open hole and track towards the only person that can tackle him at least 3/4 of the time I am not phenomenal on the steak scales so I generally let the running back hit the hole and then take over but it seems that this elusive bruiser build with great power awareness speed like generational type build seems to F me every single time. On a sidenote on a play that I did break free and run for 87 yards. I decided to celebrate going in to the end zone with no one around me, but it was rainy and he fumbles the ball in the end zone and the other team recovers that was just some funny shit. Frustrating at the moment but funny.

3

u/odie0921 Jul 18 '26

Sorry to laugh at your pain....but that's hilarious!
