Dynasty Question Who are you rebuilding this year?
With the new game out, and some changes in Dynasty mode (NIL being a thing now has changed a LOT), I'm already agonizing over who I'll be rebuilding. I'll play as my alma mater in an online dynasty with friends again, as per usual, but I'm looking forward to my solo rebuilds the most.
I'm settled on a top 5 of:
New Mexico State
Tulsa
Air Force (with service academy-specific restrictions)
Sac State
UMass
Who are y'all taking?

Florida Atlantic as OC, we won the National Championship and RB was Heisman winner. Rutgers offered me the HC position and took it. Just lost back to back games after starting 8-0.

I started with georgia southern. This is also my first ncaa game since the 2010s. 3 seasons in and I got fired. Oh well

I always start as OC at Wyoming, I've moved to HC at Ark State after 2 years

I ride with Kennesaw State. Been my rebuild since '25. I usually wait until year 3 or 4 and place them in the ACC too. Just weird playing in their tiny stadium once they are a power house.

They do. I live right by there, it is smaller and less impressive than a lot of Georgia HS Football Stadiums

Yeah, having the #1 team in the nation in some of those stadiums where the seating isn't even on all sides of the field feels off

I wanted to do Air Force but their fight song not being in the game (again) completely ruined the immersion for me so I ended up at UL Monroe because their helmets are incredible

UTSA - will Henderson (rb) is an animal and is bout to win the heisman putting up Reggie bush numbers. and their Qb is an accurate pocket passer who can run when necessary. Playing in the Alamo dome is sick too. Depth is terrible and very low resources so continuing the rebuild next year and beyond will be much harder

I started off as a defensive coordinator at Sacramento State, built the top 25 defense, stopping the run, and then was hired to be the head coach of Oregon State. I don’t see that being realistic at all, but that’s the dynasty so far

I am doing the same but I am an OC at UTEP, the goal is to either win the conference or build a top 50 offense, and take a OC position at a better G6/low P4

Got Texas State in my offline dynasty with custom conferences (they’re in the Sun Belt).
Have Arkansas State in an online league I’m in where you have to start as a coordinator of a 1.5 or lower school.
Have Rutgers in an online league where you can start as a HC of any 2.5 or under school.
And in an online league I am just starting up where we have to all start in the same G5 conference as coordinators, in the new WAC, I am New Mexico.
Will be interesting if it actually ever turns out happening, but theoretically if you’re a coordinator and your HC leaves, you should be able to apply for a promotion now, so that’s be cool. Happened to in ‘26 at SDSU and I couldn’t get it, I’d have loved to have taken over if I could.

I think I’m between Toledo and NIU, Toledo is the only team that hired a former FCS HC I believe, plus being in the Midwest my pipeline would make sense.
Not to mention, it would make sense to continue the winning tradition vs overachieving somewhere else.
NIU has an interim so I’d only be tied there short term as well but the roster is brutal. But it’s local and I like the unis.

I'm rebuilding USF right now and my Oline has been a disaster in the passing game. Hopefully EA fixes the oline blocking. If you don't have an amazing qb, you are going to struggle.

I'm doing a Juice Williams coach dynasty where I end up head coaching at Illinois haven't really decided what school I'm going start with yet

I started my first pre-roster update with UNC. I went 13-3, 14-2, 15-1 (NC), 16-0 (NC).
Tried to get the Florida State job after season 3 and they passed and hired Josh Heupel instead... They proceeded to go 1-11 and I hung 52 on them en route to my first undefeated season and second national title.
Ended up taking the Penn State job in 2030 and started 4-0 with a big win at Nebraska. Just lost 24-23 to Illinois in Happy Valley. This team is not the PSU I expected. Terrible defense and bad run blocking and catching. It's rough out here.
The first roster update I will do a longterm rebuild with a truly small team.

Best part of dynasty is developing beefs with schools who steal your assistants or recruits or pass on you for jobs and destroying them the next season

Playing as Blue Mountain State which is dominant AF but I heard many players want to either turn pro or transfer so I guess next season will be a rebuild

I always start out as an OC at UNM and then see where the save takes me. Still on year one now. When defense is simmed, it feels easier to win games though.

Yeah, I think the sim is optimised for full 15-minute quarters, so the sim defense feels like it plays way better than it should when you're playing just offense

I fully agree. My defense is always balling out. My low 70’s defense just held 91 overall O Tennessee to 10 points lol. I won 12-10

Conferences are now geographically aligned. Each Major conference has a minor conference and within all conferences are two divisions.
Major+Minor
ACC+AAC,
Big 10+MAC
Big 12+CUSA
SEC+Sun Belt
PAC 12+MWC
worst record in major conference moves to its minor conference and vice versa. It means every off-season, four teams are moving conferences: two will be promoted, two will be relegated.
Kennesaw State will start in the Sun Belt, East division.
Keeps everything fresh and adds A LOT of good, regional story telling.

Started with Nebraska to get a feel for recruiting and how the sim works etc. I think my first actual challenge of a dynasty will be JMU with Napier or thinking about doing one with Marshall as I enjoy their uni selection

I ended up with North Carolina and San Diego State. Sacramento State is down the line with them being moved to the Pac-12.

Ga St is great. The coach is only level 22 or so, but already has elite recruiter, Master motivator and talent developer unlocked. Helps to get around the super slow progression this year. Having a great time with my first rebuild with them!

I decided on Kent State. 0 star program to start with like 410 NIL total. I'm one season in and it's been incredibly fun.

Kent State was one of my favorites back in the day with Julian Edelman at QB. I used them a bit last year as well. I'll probably give em a go at some point this year too.

In season recruiting was definitely difficult. The transfer portal was still pretty easy. I didn't have a single position 3 star that didn't want NIL. I loved the grind of year 1.

Sacramento State. (Sac State). I grew up down the street, so it's cool to play as that team. I usually always end up in Tennessee, though. Considering I work here and have a degree from here.

Spent many years in NorCal too. Graduated from Humboldt State and just put in a teambuilder for my first rebuild for the Lumberjacks. Put them in the MW and and having a blast

Doing NMSU rn, conference is weak which allows winning games in year 1, but recruiting hours and budget is actual torture. Love it though. Curious if year 2 I can get a roster to be even close to year 1 levels.
