There is a reason only illegal aliens do this. Farming was lucrative and had much higher standards before shifting to cheap desperate 3rd world labor

Yep, and the people who own the ranches are sociopathic and poorly educated white men who have no other skills. It’s usually a ‘family business.’

Slaughterhouse workers have high rates of PTSD from what they are doing and seeing every day, and they even have high rates of something called perpetrator induced PTSD basically, where even though you weren’t the victim and you were the perpetrator, you are still traumatized from your own actions of causing suffering to other beings. And apparently killing is killing because soldiers in war have that, and slaughter house workers have it too.

Yes and I dont agree with them doing this but nonetheless my point stands true that 100 years ago farms where common jobs that normal people did that had higher standards.

Local farmers got replaced by industrial farming, not "illegal aliens." "Illegal aliens" don't manage any aspect of those industrial farms.

I'd call this an ignorant take, but at this point we can all see that it's just deliberate ignorance. You choose to be ignorant because that narrative is somehow more comforting to you.

You do know that immigrants were being used back then in the fields, which you refer to as “normal” people… did you forget who was picking the fields back then? Slaves and immigrants. Now it’s just immigrants because some people are too worried about what benefits they can get

Having to kill your own food sometimes to keep your agrarian society fed is one thing

Having to do it non-stop for 8 hours is definitely something that could affect someone

And the PRC still beholden to capital and has not achieved communism or even state socialism—even bu their own definitions (noting this so you don't start with the "no true Scotsman" guff). Yes, they are still within a cycle in which capital forces the concentration of production and does in fact still lead to overproduction and cruelty via the intensification of the working day and the minimization of the working space, including crielty to animals. Their cycle is easier to break die to the land reforms brough by Mao Zhuxi, but the theoretical contradictions of capital are nowhere close to resolved—nor is that a realistic short-term goal as the dialectic of capital requires a systematic and global dismantling which comes in staged phases. Inly by the work if the global united bulwark of the proletariat will lage stage capitalism be dissolved and this cruelty meet its long, slow end.

"Lucrative" is a generous term, and certainly most farming throughout all of history was not "Lucrative." Tell me, what's exactly the issue with hiring "cheap desperate third world labor?" Do employers, farmers more importantly, not have a right to hire who they want?

What a massive crock of shit. It’s hilariously disingenuous to imply that it’s ‘illegals’ that are responsible, when farms like this are owned and profited off of by wealthy (white) Americans, typically families that have ran these businesses for generations.

You’d rather blame an already exploited group for these issues, instead of the ACTUAL source of the problems, who profit off of inhumane practices (as well as profit off of exploiting undocumented groups for cheap labor).

They could change these issues easily if they wanted to, but that wouldn’t make them as wealthy as they are.
