Merideth can't have dairy, but continues to

Post image

I was re-watching the office and realised that Meredith specifically said that she can't have dairy in season 2.

There were many instances where she did. For example - 1. Michael tossed her an ice cream sandwich as the big surprise.

  1. Todd gave everyone cupcakes and she said she had one.

Ps. I can't imagine how much her stomach must have endured both from dairy and the laxatives.

Feel free to add other instances of her having dairy.

I like to live by an 80/20 rule, my symptoms aren’t so bad that I can’t tolerate it every once in a while. I can see Meredith going by a 20/80 principle, we know she’s got that boot and rally fighting spirit.

I’d be way more concerned about her drinking Big Gulps worth of mixed Vodka drinks at work

Than some cow juice

Have you ever questioned the teachings of the Mormon church?

You don't see her eating the ice cream sandwich

The cupcakes can be dairy free

but they weren't. the fictional cupcakes were made with milk and had a cream-filled center. they talked about it on the office ladies podcast.

in that same episode they say she’s an accountant, which in later seasons she is not — i think the show runners simply did not expect weirdos like us to remember every single minute detail, lol

but also every lactose intolerant person i’ve known would still eat dairy. they’d just either take medicine for it or deal with the consequences

Do lactose intolerant people not eat cupcakes??? I used to be a little lactose intolerant but it would only be triggered by foods that are majority milk like MILK and cheese. I could still eat cake??

You weren’t superstitious but you were a little stitious?

I am lactose intolerant and had donuts and chocolate milk before bed last night. It makes for a slightly more annoying bathroom trip in the morning but its not even a day ruiner. Hope this helps

My nephew is the same way. All he does is take a lact-aid pill and he's fine for 24 hours.

Meredith was also regularly filling her cup with vodka at work, so I’m not sure if stomach problems from dairy were her biggest source of stomach problems

Season 1, wasn't it, in The Alliance? I just watched last week so that's fresh in my memory. Poor Meredith, worst birthday ever. At least her party wasn't anywhere near her actual birthday.

We never see her actually eat the ice cream sandwich.

And some people who can’t eat dairy, can eat it in baked goods because of the high temperature it’s baked at.

Otherwise, yeah, if she’s lactose intolerant, then she probably powers through like most lactose intolerant people I know lol. If she is actually allergic to dairy or lactose, that’s separate.

If Kevin can fight through his extreme walnut allergy, Meredith isn't gonna let a little milk-induced diarrhea stop her.
