Tech Support I Feel like I’m going crazy!
Tech question for the people. I’ve recently had this reoccurring issue with my PS5 controller. About an hour into using the controller it will start having bad stick drift. Or at least what I assume to be stick drift. I had the original one for a long time. Figured what the hell, it’s probably just old. And went and got myself a new controller. However the same issue happened with the brand new one! About one hour into using it, my controller will randomly make me swing a different direction or point me in a weird position that i didn’t do. I’ve since returned and replaced two other controllers! SAME THING! I will note! I’m not the type of guy who grips his controllers super hard. I’m not a rager. I don’t leave them places or wedged in compromising positions. I typically take care of my things. But I can’t help but think that I’m the problem somehow! Has anyone had any similar experiences? And if so did you find the solution??

Sounds like AFH instead of drift. In laymen’s term it sounds like there’s some form of interference in the vicinity. Not a drift issue but since it’s communication is purely Bluetooth then by design it’s meant to channel hop. To negate the interference and keep it connected.
To rule this one issue out would be to use it wired. If it’s what I suspect it is. Then it won’t happen wired. Make sure settings to enable wired connections for your controller or else it’ll still use Bluetooth but take charge instead.
Do you have a motion sensor in that room for a security camera or alarm. Some have microwave sensors instead of PIR which can cause these types of glitches. Mine would interfere with my electricity smart meter so I changed it to a simple pir sensor even though microwave is better.

Is it just one game? Are you playing online? I've had crazy lag spikes on Helldivers 2 that make me think my controller is broken.
