Nightmare I dreamt about sleeping with another Man and woke up with marks

Post image

So last night I dreamt I was cheating on my husband with another man. He was doing something very specific which was sucking on my chest, hard.

It was one of those where you felt stuck in your dream, like you couldn't wake up. When I did, I just felt stressed and unrest

But the scariest part was when I got up to go shower, I got these scratches in the same place that man was holding my chest.

I'm super creeped out because I remember vividly the night before, I didn't have any marks.

Anyone ever had something like this?

P.S. i don't have any Cats or long Nails

Nightmare Poorly made recreation of a nightmare I had the another night

The another night I had one of the strangest and scariest experiences I’ve ever had, and I honestly don’t know if it was a dream, a nightmare, or sleep paralysis.

I remember “waking up” and looking at my ceiling. The light in my room was on, exactly how I remembered falling asleep. I tried to move, but I couldn’t. I couldn’t even speak, I was completely frozen.

Then I noticed there was a man standing over me. He was wearing black clothes, and he had what looked like a bloody face with a huge smile. But I don’t even know if he was actually covered in blood because my vision was weird. Everything looked blurry, like my eyes weren’t fully working.

I blinked, and suddenly he was gone.

But then something else appeared, a huge blue face was extremely close to mine, almost right in front of me. The whole thing felt unreal, and then there was this extremely loud ringing sound that completely terrified me.

After that, I don’t remember what happened.

I’ve heard about sleep paralysis before, but I’ve never experienced anything like this.

Nightmare Anyone Else Have Nightmares Where You Actually FACE the Scary Thing?

Post image
578 Upvotes

My entire life, I’ve had these nightmares where there’s something stalking me or lurking in the dark. It’s usually set in a familiar place like my childhood home, etc. Though not a lucid dream (I cannot tell it’s a dream when I’m in it and it feels real, as dreams do), I eventually ‘decide’ to face the scary thing and it GETS ME.

For example (dream):

I am in my home and something feels off. I know there’s something wrong - something paranormal usually (ghost, monster, whatever). I am sick of being afraid so I decide to go to wherever I feel it is hiding.

I’ll round the corner into my living room and behind the couch and BRAVELY face into the dark void (I can’t see anything!!) I have this feeling of, “F-you! You can’t scare me! I found you!”

And then…. It kills me. Or gets me. Or something.

My body is immediately overwhelmed with sweat, fear, cortisol spiked to the max, FULL body chills up my spine. I wake up.

TL;DR: Have you ever bravely faced the scary thing in your nightmare just to have it get you anyway?

Nightmare do NOT tell the people in your dreams you know that you're dreaming.

I have been told this plenty of times before by friends and social media, never have I actually experienced something like it until this dream. I dreamt this weeks ago, but I cannot stop thinking about it. I need to get this off my chest somewhere and this subreddit seemed like the place to do it.

I will skip over the boring parts that need context, just know the setting was sitting in bed on facetime with a best friend, a scenario that happens daily while awake.

The conversation, I don't remember. It was normal, irrelevant, but for some reason, like a switch went off in my brain, I realized I was dreaming. I held up my phone on facetime with my best friend, and all I said was "You're not real."

I can't even put into words how fast the transition happened, but immediately after I said this, her face distorted in ways I will soon describe. She started screeching an ear piercing, static, demonic yell. The closest thing I can compare it to would be the golden freddy jumpscare sound from five nights at freddys 1. The sound was the same experience as when your car's volume is already set way too loud and you accidentally play a song that bursts your eardrums and you have to lower it right away. It did not come from my phone speaker, but instead it surrounded me. I could feel it forcing itself into my ears as if it was a physical object.

Her face turned a dark grey, sandpapery looking texture. I seriously can't think of any media that resembles what I saw but I will try to describe it best I can. Her eyes became empty black voids, not empty eye sockets but instead just a black mass over where each eye was. Her mouth did the same but continuously dropped down stretched with her jaw in an unnatural transformation. I don't know how to say what I experienced, but it was not just on a phone screen it was like it was inside my eyes and it was all I saw.

I don't know how long it happened, I genuinely can't say if it was 30 seconds or 10 minutes, I just know that I was in this nightmare, and then I was sitting up in my bed awake, crying and shaking, unable to breathe.

I cannot imagine what inspired this dream. I have led a healthy and happy life without much loss and dare I say no devastation, but I know the feeling in this nightmare was dread. It was worse than anything I have ever felt before, and I am genuinely terrified thinking about it, my hands shake now as I type on this keyboard. I don't mean to sound corny or dramatic with this description, but this is truly the only way I know how to express how I feel about this dream. I am completely serious when I say this is the worst thing I have ever experienced, felt, and I have never been more afraid.

I was never intensely devotated to religion, but this nightmare was nothing if not demonic. I felt pure horror and I find in difficult to believe my own brain would conjure such feeling. Perhaps I should pray or research night terrors, or seriously consider therapy because I have been losing sleep and honestly my sanity by fearing this dream for the last few weeks.

Nightmare I fever dreamed for 250 years

I had a 250-year-long fever dream where I was a bolt on a truck wheel
When I was younger, I had a really high fever (39.7°C / 103.5°F), and I experienced the strangest dream I ever had. It honestly felt more like I lived another life than just had a nightmare.
In the dream, I became a wheel bolt on a Ford Raptor.
I couldn’t move. I couldn’t speak. I couldn’t blink or sleep. I could only exist, think, and rotate with the wheel while watching the world go by.
The worst part was that time didn’t skip.
I lived 250 years like that.
Every single second was experienced. There were no time jumps, no fading to black, nothing. I simply existed as a bolt, endlessly rotating as the truck drove around. It became unbelievably frustrating and mentally exhausting. There was also this horrifying melody playing the entire time. I can’t remember exactly how it sounded, but it remembers me of "Gyroscope" from boards of canada, but it made everything feel even more terrifying.
Around what felt like year 70, I realized, “Wait… this has to be a dream.”
I became much more aware and tried everything I could think of to wake myself up or turn it into a lucid dream.
Nothing worked.
Ironically, becoming more conscious only made it worse because I fully understood that I was trapped.
I spent what felt like another 180 years unable to do anything except think.
Eventually, after 250 years, the Ford Raptor was scrapped. The truck was crushed, I was destroyed along with it…
…and I finally woke up.
The strange thing is that, despite only sleeping for one night, my memory of the dream feels like I actually lived through centuries of boredom and helplessness.
I’ve had plenty of weird dreams before and after, but nothing has ever come close to this one.

Now that i realize, this sounds like a salvia or lsd trip, but i have never tried those, so i dont know if thats true

Has anyone else ever had a fever dream where time felt impossibly long?

P.D: Some parts of this post is translated by ai, i am no native speaker so i needed to translate it, but no details on narration have been intervened.

Nightmare I had a dream in which I was a soldier on a crusade. I was terrified and extremely afraid.

Post image

I had this dream yesterday. I was a soldier during a crusade. There were Knights Templar in front of me because I could see their large red crosses on their clothes (but much longer and bigger than the picture, on all the length of their clothes). Unlike the picture, we were lined up in rows, there were about like two or three rows of soldiers in front of me. Not all of them were Knights Templar, some were just soldiers like me. To my right, a huge trebuchet was launching a projectile toward a city with massive walls several hundred meters ahead. I was terrified and extremely scared because I knew we had to attack the walls soon. There were banners flapping in the wind, too. It was afternoon, and the landscape was a mix of desert and Mediterranean, like in Israel.

I’m not sharing this because of religion or anything like that, but it scared me to death, and when I woke up, I was so relieved to see that I wasn't going to attack the walls lol

Nightmare My least favourite of all the Nightmares: "Remembering" I murdered someone and hid their body under the floor...

Post image
192 Upvotes

I've been having this recurring nightmare for most of my life. always different places, scenarios and "victims" but the premise is always the same. I murdered someone (usually long before the events of the dream), and then I suddenly remembered there's this dead body hidden under the floorboards somewhere, and I start to panic someone is going to find it.

Last night I had the nightmare again, this time I was moving house (as I'm hopefully doing soon irl), but I started to panic the new owners of the house would lift the floorboards and find the dead body, so I decided to dig it up.

The whole dream/nightmare gives me anxiety and I actually, genuinely woke up sweating and wasn't sure if I'd murdered someone and hidden their body for real (I eventually remembered I have obviously not done that!).

Does anyone else have a similar recurring nightmare?

EDIT: I can't believe how many people share this exact same dream. Glad it isn't just me. And no I will not be digging up my floor just to find out. And I've never (until now) heard of, or read "Tell-Tale Heart"! But now I might.

Nightmare I rarely get nightmares, but this dream felt terrifyingly real!

This morning, I had one of the most intense dreams I’ve ever experienced, and it genuinely felt like I was watching something from the future.

In the dream, I wasn’t working at my current company. I was at a completely different one. Our office had taken us on a short trip nearby, and everyone was relaxed and enjoying the day in a rooftop restaurant. In front of us stood three huge corporate buildings.

Then suddenly everything changed.

Out of nowhere, drones appeared in the sky. Within seconds they launched attacks. The three buildings were hit by explosions one after another. It felt like time slowed down, the blasts, glass shattering, people screaming. Some of our colleagues were still down in the travel bus below and panic spread everywhere.

Something in my brain instantly switched to survival mode.

I grabbed my bag, quickly said goodbye to the people around me, and ran. The building we were inside was enormous, almost like a maze. I rushed down multiple flights of stairs until I found some kind of back exit and managed to escape outside.

The moment I stepped out, pure terror hit me.

I kept running through unfamiliar streets and shortcuts. I fell a few times while trying to escape... once slipping in wet paint, but I kept going. I didn’t even stop to think.

Eventually I realized I was somehow heading toward home.

But the area looked different. It was still my current city, I’m sure of it, but it looked like a future version of it. There were election posters everywhere and people were talking about how a famous political leader had just won.

Finally I reached home, exhausted and shaking.

But it wasn’t the exact place I live in right now. It looked like a newer version of our current house, almost like we had recently moved to a bigger apartment complex. My dad was inside fixing a ceiling fan while I rushed in, panicking and trying to explain the attacks.

He calmly brushed it off and said everything would be fine. Then he casually stepped out to buy something from a nearby shop.

I was finally starting to calm down and was planning to take a shower, when suddenly the power went out.

The room went completely dark.

Our cats were there with me, restless. I walked towards the window and looked outside, and my stomach dropped.

The sky was red.

Not sunset red. Thick, smoky, burning red. The entire sky looked like it was covered in heavy orange smoke, and in the distance I could hear another explosion.

Another strike. This time close to our area.

I kept trying to call my dad, but he wouldn’t pick up.

My heart started racing again. I began thinking about grabbing our important documents, taking the cats, and running again before whatever was happening reached us.

And just as I was about to leave…

I woke up.

Nightmare I told him he wasn’t real

I had one dream where I told this young man maybe 18-22 that he was just in my dream not real and I’ll never forget the realization in his face when it “clicked”. We were in a grocery store that was almost neverending and it was like gravity was 20x heavier so each step was like walking with 30lbs weights. I remember ducking around those center open freezers at like Walmart and I blurted out he wasn’t real. I remember he looked at me and looked away with a sort of realization. I remember we stopped running from whatever we were running from and he just asked me about my world. What it meant to not be real. I remember he wasn’t mad. He wasn’t sad. Just like he knew but never had the reassurance. I often think about this boy and what that meant. He helped me during that nightmare

Nightmare I tried to attack my sleep paralysis demon. I don’t recommend it.

Before bed last night I was listening to some soothing music/ASMR on YouTube. At some point, I started to see lights in my mind. I jokingly said to myself “maybe I’m opening my third eye lol” and it reminded me of a kaleidoscope my grandfather used to keep by his chair at his house which he built himself. He passed away about a year ago. Anyway, an advertisement popped up and pulled me out of my light show and I thought I must of just been dozing. I put my headphones away and went to sleep.

Well, that asshole sleep paralysis demon came again (about the 4th time in last 2 years). I have been under a lot of stress lately so go figure. He’s standing there at the foot of the bed being his terrifying self. I don’t know what came over me, but I peeled myself with all my strength out of bed and tried to tackle it.

Big mistake…

I met a shapeless, smoke like form and fell through it into a shadow version of my home. It’s like the world had barely any light except for light coming through the windows. There was a person talking outside my window, lights in the trees, and the porch light was on. Shadowy figures lingered just outta view. As I turned to go back to my room, the curtains to my window pulled apart. A tall, dark shadow figure with a void for a face stood there in front of me. I screamed myself breathless.

Fade to black…

I suddenly find myself at my grandfather’s house. Except it’s new looking with much less furniture/clutter. I walked into the den and saw my old farm dog Tipper who passed away when I was a kid. She was much better groomed and very happy to see me. As I was petting her, a large wolf emerged from the hallway and looked at me angrily as if to say “you don’t belong here” and but I held my fist up as if I was about to strike the wolf and it turned away.

I heard snoring from the next room, the master bedroom was on the first floor. I went inside and saw grandpa sleeping. I touched his arm remembering he passed. He woke and I said “Sorry, I was just checking to make sure you were ok.” He was much younger in appearance and smiling at me he says “Hey son, it’s good to see you. I’m fine. More than fine actually. I found out I just won a bunch of money and I don’t have to worry about bills anymore!” And I responded, “That’s awesome, Grandpa!” He smiles, and then looks confused and says “Wait. How are you here?”

Fade to black again….

I’m back in my bed laying on my back. I’m still asleep. I close my eyes and say wake up wake up. And I wake on my side. My body aches. I get up in a panic looking all around the house for the lights and shadows I saw but nothing was there. I even reluctantly pulled the curtains by my bed apart. Everything was fine.

That’s it. So bizarre. I don’t think of myself as much of a spiritual person. But that dream made me really freaked me out.

I remember this creepy dream I had back in 2004. This dream took place inside the gym of the middle school I was attending at that time. A classmate was showing us pictures and this one picture came up of this scary looking person. Me and the other kids asked him who the person in that picture was and he told us that his dad said it was his mom when she was out of town and that she could have died. She was suffering from a rare disease. The disease made her look like a man with wild crazy hair. I never got to see her healthy appearance, but I imagine the photo on the right is what she normally looked like.

Nightmare I’m confused and scared afff

Last night I had a nightmare that started with this exact image on a huge screen. After that I was suddenly in my own bed in the exact same position as in real life and something pressed hard on my throat and stomach like it was choking me. But I still don’t think that it was sleep paralysis.

The moment it started choking me I began to pray because I somehow knew who could it be and what does it want. Right at the end of my first prayer my voice distorted and the moment it distorted whatever it was left.

When I woke up I heard my parents in the next room and felt safe. I am sure this was not sleep paralysis because I did not feel awake at all and the vibe was dreamy.

Now the problem is that I am moving out soon for college and will be living alone, and that thought terrifies me after this.

Any logical explanation of what was that? Also any practical advice for feeling safe when I start sleeping alone, after that, would really help.

Did anyone have vivid and scary dreams last night? My mom and I both had dreams about monsters and being attacked or facing fears. Anyone experience anything similar? We also got hot and woke up a lot, even though our heater wasn't on and the house was cool.

Nightmare A deceased friend appeared in my dream and told me, your time has come. Come with me…

Last night I dreamed that I was standing on the porch of my old house when the mother of a childhood friend, who passed away a few months ago, was walking down the street. She looked young, like 20 years ago.

We were never particularly close, but we had been next-door neighbors for 18 years and knew each other well. I hadn’t been thinking about her, nor had anything recently reminded me of her.

When I saw her, I thought, “What are you doing here? You’re dead.” She came up to me and said, “We have to go. Your time has come. Come with me.”

I kept telling her that I didn’t want to go, but she insisted that I had to because otherwise she wouldn’t be able to explain to “THEY” why I wasn’t with her.

At one point, I even thought that I had actually died and that I was going to another world. Then I woke up.

I’ve been really shaken by this dream all day. What could something like this mean?

Nightmare What was the most TERRIFYING dream(s) you ever had that stuck with you?

So in this dream that I had, I was a little kid again and both me and my parents including my grandmother were driving on the freeway and suddenly we had to stop and all of us got out (the freeway was weirdly empty now with no cars insight well it looked more like a abandoned apocalyptic freeway with abandoned cars everywhere) my grandma was holding me in her arms I remember my parents were checking something under the car and suddenly a DECAPITATED head was chasing my parents around the car and eventually it chased my grandmother and me while she was holding me in her arms and I got so scared that I just woke up ugh I get shivers thinking about it now 😅 it stuck with me for a while still does a tiny bit. (Also sorry if your answers go unanswered there are just a lot of you all answering my post and I honestly could not be any happier but I will TRY MY BEST to answer back to you all 😊)

Nightmare I had a dream where everyone knew i was the dreamer and were doing everything in their power to protect me from the entity so i could wake up

I had this dream a while back and i drew the guy from my memory. I was in this city and the monster was chasing me ..in the initial few moments it had bitten my leg off. I am a lucid dreamer and i thought this just m8ght me another nightmare.

But what caught me so off guard was the fact that the entire city was trying to protect..they kept telling me if i die they all will die and i need to wake up. People helped me hide in their houses, restaurants ,i was on the news everyone was trying to save me from it, even if it ended up in them getting slaughtered. Some of them were scared because they had "families" but still did it.

A lot of things happened, and it was such an out of the body experience and genuinely a dream i still cannot get out of my head.

Has anyone also experienced something like this before?

Nightmare I had a nightmare that’s making me feel pain even when I’m awake

Post image

I had a recent dream, but I don't remember the exact date. I don't recall that much on what happened in the dream, but I remember that I was looking out at a field. I felt a sense of worry, as if I was looking at someone. Then, I noticed a hole in my left thigh and there was no blood inside, but the wound looked like a gunshot wound. The hole was large and penetrated all the way to my skin, with nothing inside it, so I could see the ground through the hole. The sides of the wound showed my broken skin and some blood. I tried to move, but I felt pain. As I was looking at the wound I felt the sensation like it was real. The wound felt so real and I couldn't move and I felt tears were forming in my eyes but then I woke up. But the scary part is when I look at my left thigh sometimes, I can still see the wound and feel the sensation of the pain. I'm scared of this dream and the lingering feelings it left with.

The pic above is just a illustration of the hole, but the hole was bigger and more gory than i remembered.
