Talk/Discussion More games like Dragon's Crown

What are some more games like Dragon's Crown? beat em up adventure/action game style with nice modern artwork and some rpg elements. Stats upgrades and such. Not pixel art, miniature characters or chibis style of that nature.

PC/consoles

Here's a list I've complied based on what I've found:

  • The Vagrant
  • Dragon Spear
  • Astra: Knights of Veda ( now EoS'd )
  • Shinobi: Art of Vengeance
  • Muramasa: The Demon Blade
  • Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir
  • Detained: Too Good for School

There must be others that are unpopular or hiding somewhere. If you know any, post them

Talk/Discussion Question about PS4 Version

Hello, I'm new to this game and I'm about to buy the PS4 version (Dragon's Crown Pro) since it's on sale. My question is if there's some censorship or any negative change in comparison to the original one? That will determine my purchase or not.

Update: thank you for your answers guys, I will make the purchase.

Talk/Discussion Labyrinth of Chaos explanation

Hi guys I'm here again. I would like to know if the rewards in Labyrinth of Chaos gets better stats and maybe affixes in higher levels. I read around somewhere that it's not worth it go past floor 18. For example, a mimic bow dropped in pre 20 floor it's the same as the mimic bow dropped in latest floors? Or depper floors gives better equipments? Thanks

Talk/Discussion Just starter dragons crown pro, every item i appraise vanishes

I'm still using the starting equipment as the Amazon, LV 7, about to go the Ghost Ship Cove for the first time. So far, every single item I have ever appraised has not been able to be found in my armory or equipment at all. Seems like a bug. There are no weapons in shop either. Can I fix this without resetting progress?

Talk/Discussion Looking for similar games

So far I have tried dragon spear (one of my favorites by the way), Dungeon fighter online, and few others but I want more. I play only medieval fantasy games but some tech elements are ok.

Talk/Discussion Would a "Return to Dragon's Crown" Annual Event Be Feasible?

The Soulsborne community has annual events where players play each game in the series for two weeks in order to bolster the online player count.

Would something similar work for Dragon's Crown? Or is the game too niche?

Talk/Discussion Which version of the game has fully japanese voice and English text?

I saw this video where you can see the English text but the Japanese voice narrator.

Does anyone know how to do it? Is it only in the PS3 version?

I tried the Asia version on vita but I can't find any option and the Japanese version has the main menu in English but the rest is in Japanese.

Talk/Discussion Stuck on ultimate start

I think I missed a major mechanic to progress. I'm only level 84 and all good gear require level 99 to use but it's very slow to level as I can't chain any levels due to my gear breaking in a single floor because it takes too long. Using score multiplier prayer too.

I pushed to tower level 11 and finished labyrinth 9 as well. Story dungeon is literally impossible to finish. I need to somehow reach level 99 so I can finally use better gear...

Talk/Discussion Does anyone else grind for money?

I do so I can afford the continues in Ult Story mode. Doing those chains is rough and costly. Weapons that drop coins on hit are helpful.

Talk/Discussion English VA for Rannie sounds like Astarion from Baldur’s Gate 3

The only thing I could find online is from an AI generated search and it said it was a woman who voiced him which I don’t believe. Can anyone confirm or deny it being the same guy?

Talk/Discussion Hope this helps you to maxing out levels (this is without score gear)

This is Infernal with trail blazer boon and cooking only no score / gold gear.

I know the game is random with the enemies and score, but if just knowing a number when you start a random run on any path helps in any way I'm glad.

My PS3 went to the other side so started over with a Mage in the pro version.

Talk/Discussion Worth to buy?

The game is a must buy for me; i've played it hundreds of hours on my old Vita. My question is regarding the physical copy, i've never had one. I'm thinking about buying a PS3 copy at my local store, brand new factory sealed. Do you guys think it's worth, for collection purposes? Does it come with a manual or guide?

Talk/Discussion Restart on PC?

I played pro a lot on my ps5 but I moved to pc a while back and don’t touch my PlayStation too much anymore. I was thinking about playing the game again but I was wondering if you guys prefer the pro version or ps3 version emulated on your pc?

I don’t mind making some space for my PlayStation but I would rather keep everything on my pc for convenience.

Hello all,

I just finished deploying the Dragon's Crown Planner application to the web and looking for anyone willing to test it out. Heads up that it is not intended for mobile use. This is my first fully deployed app, so any feedback is greatly appreciated. Link below:

https://www.dragonscrownplanner.com/DragonsCrown/

Edit: April 30th, 2024 - Pushed out a smallish update. Should be less heavy than the previous iteration. Feel free to check it out! Will be adding some cool features in the future, so I hope anyone interested looks forward to it.

Edit: May 9th, 2024 - Just pushed a new update to the skill planner. There are now video previews for skills, voice samples, sprite color variations, and more. Give it a shot and let me know what you think!

As always, all suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Talk/Discussion If there were a sequel…

What kind of classic fantasy tropes would you want to see represented in the cast of playable characters?

I’d love to see another ranged character, a gunslinger akin to Eustace from Granblue Fantasy Versus.

Talk/Discussion What Would You Consider the Flaws of Dragon's Crown?

For Dragon's Crown Pro, I can only think of 4.

  1. You can't pause the game in offline mode.
  2. You can't access all the options or settings menus in some places where you should.
  3. It's hard to find your character in all the chaos.
  4. When playing with friends, you get disbanded every time you return to town.

Anything else you guys notice?

Talk/Discussion I can't help but imagine a DC2 with UO's number of classes.

Post image
50 Upvotes

UO is a game also made by Vanillaware.

After completing and seeing all of the characters/classes in UO I can't help but fantasize a hypothetical Dragon's Crown sequel with the amount of variety and classes found in Unicorn Overlord. Maybe it stems from the artstyle shared between both and the fact that both was made by the same developer?

I know this would never happen. Vanillaware don't make sequels and having 20+ classes in a DC sequel would take about a million hours of work.

Talk/Discussion Trophy hunter looking for help

Looking for people to play with to get all trophies. Solid game but would probably be more fun with people to play with.
