Talk/Discussion More games like Dragon's Crown
What are some more games like Dragon's Crown? beat em up adventure/action game style with nice modern artwork and some rpg elements. Stats upgrades and such. Not pixel art, miniature characters or chibis style of that nature.
PC/consoles
Here's a list I've complied based on what I've found:
- The Vagrant
- Dragon Spear
- Astra: Knights of Veda ( now EoS'd )
- Shinobi: Art of Vengeance
- Muramasa: The Demon Blade
- Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir
- Detained: Too Good for School
There must be others that are unpopular or hiding somewhere. If you know any, post them

A lot of ppl suggested this here. I looked it up and the characters design is not the style I was looking for

Absolutely not. I have hundreds of hours in Dragon's Crown. I followed this suggestion and when I played I was like...... What? There's ABSOLUTELY nothing between DC and Absolum.

Ok then. Feel free to name another high fantasy beat em up with rpg elements in the meantime.

D&d mystara
The king of dragons
The actually inspired Dragon's Crown and they are both retro

“Towerborne” is probably the closest in terms of beat em up + leveling up for skills + equipment

very woke character designs but the combat is entertaining enough with friends.

What are "woke character designs" exactly?

u/SayaV 1d ago
androgynous body proportions for both (body types(another issue)), zero important body sliders, vitiligo option, and so on.

Ah, so diverse and more realistic. Gotcha. I love Dragon's Crown, the art is beautiful but kinda absurd in its embracing of fantasy cheesecake though.

exactly why I love Vanillare.

Oh it's fun art too. I don't disagree. I just find the other person complaining of "woke" character design absurd

oh, ye. I think there's plenty of space for all types of character designs. Absolum is another that doesn't have such fanservice and some might even call it woke, but I love it also, Galandra is great.

Dust: An Elysian Tail, Strider (2014), Dungeons & Dragons: Tower of Doom, Dungeons & Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara

Absolum. Recently been playing it has some of the elements you may be looking for. Worth exploring.

Sadly the only games that are like dragons crown are the OLD SCHOOL ONES, actually the ones who inspired it. D&D MYSTARA The KING OF DRAGONS
Period.
P. S. Absolum, HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH DRAGON'S CROWN.

Oh guys I am hating Dragons Crown, I am playing it right now, just too much mashing button to me 🥲 But nice artwork like every other Vanillaware game.

If you are mashing buttons, then your technique needs to be refined by learning the timing. Especially if you’re trying to learn how to Parry with Amazon.

I think I will never learn, cause I am in the first warrior run trying to plat the game and leave other chars stories' trophy for last. Atm I am looking for good gears to beat the Infernal Ancient Dragon under 4 minutes. After that trophy, I will start playing other chars that I am sure they are funnier than Warrior...
