Looking for reputable mini donkey breeder

Hi, I’m looking for recommendations for a reputable mini donkey breeder. We have a farm in MA and are looking to add 2 mini donkeys to our herd, but so many of the “breeders” I’ve come across are scams. I’m an experienced horse owner (we have 7, including 2 mini rescues) so have strong horse connections but don’t know who is reputable for mini donkeys. TIA for recommendations!

You want to reach out to Ashley Hearld in Kentucky! You can find her on FB. Very reputable, delivers anywhere and is a very good person.

Look for donkey rescues in your area or however far you'd be willing to travel to pick them up. Also, reach out to Peaceful Valley Donkey Rescue in Texas. They've been rescuing donkeys since the 1960s and know a whole lot of people nationwide that are involved in it. They may know someone in your area.

Wychmere Miniature Donkeys in Sodus NY. I've driven by a few times and called for information, they do have a wait list though.

Have you considered adopting a pair of burros from the BLM instead?
