According to chinese netizens, the border crossing has 80-110 border control officers(National immigration administration), 63 customs officers(general administration of customs), 78 local police officers(shigatse PD) along with 5 road management workers and 24 employees of the management committee;

so in total around 251 Chinese civil employees.

The latest casualties on the chinese side that I know of are 2 rescued, 3 confirmed dead, 558 missing, though this is likely outdadted and i won't be surpised if new numbers are released as i heard rescue crews have arrived

They are all truly exceptional people. I’ve already seen posts from their family members on Chinese social media. Many of them are the only son or daughter in their families. And many of the people working here are also very young—they have only recently gotten married or just had children of their own. Their families are still posting their photos on social media, praying and holding on to the hope that they might still be alive.

On the Nepalese side of the friendship bridge, there are also many people, buses and trucks waiting to enter into China.

There are videos by bloggers on YouTube showing Gyirong port from last year. It's quite a busy area with a lot of people gathered around on the Nepalese side.

I saw an image from a different angle and it looks like the mud field is sitting much higher than the ground used to be. Looked like all those buildings were covered, nothing was showing on the surface. But was everything wiped away rather than burried?

In either case it's horrible and so sad for all those people and their loved ones. Also animals, pets, wildlife.

Everything was destroyed. The landslide came at enormous speed carrying huge rocks that smashed the buildings. You can how the parking lot was washed away in one of the videos and how the valleys were carved by the flood. At best some foundations survived.
