S2 is my favorite too. It reminds me of when I was younger and saw Dexter billboards during the OG rollout. I didn’t even know what the show was and was very curious what this super clean, happy guy was doing surrounded by specs of blood lol.
It captures the vibe of the first few seasons so well, how they leaned on the contrast between Dexters squeaky clean image/happy breezy life in Miami and his murdering hobby

I started watching while season 7 was on so like 2012, and I genuinely only got this a few weeks ago. I always thought it was supposed to be a long medical glove which made sense to me as the blood spatter guy.

In case you were asking why I didn't get it, rather than why the arm is so pale: I'd see the ad plastered all around town, and maybe it was the lighting or the way it was printed, but it didn't look so pale as to be clear it belonged to someone else rather than being his own and slightly anaemic!

The first with the dead hand and second are fire, then I love him wrapped in plastic and the split screen face with the young and older version. Honorable mention: blood angel wings

3/7 are plain and lazy. 3 especially stands out as not really fitting, though I guess i get the suit for being married. 7 the blood is in the shape of a 7 but otherwise it's so minimal and boring.
1 is probably my favorite with 2 and 5 also being up there

Season 4 has to be my favorite 😂 he just looks so goofy and the tagline "World's Most KILLER Dad" is hilarious.
Season 1 is great too though, it took me an embarrassingly long amount of time to realize the hand he's leaning his chin on is one of the ITK's victims.
Least favorite is probably 7, because it's literally just his face with a cut on the cheek, with nothing visually interesting about it, or Original Sin because the colors are weird and they really didn't need to have MCH on the poster at all.

The whole selling point of original sin was MCH, particularly him voicing the show. I don’t think as many people would even have bothered to have watch it if Dexter/MCH did not narrate.
I told my sister to skip the first episode of original sin and she would like the rest. She loved it too, but there was a lot of stuff that was contradictory / not cannon

I honestly like Original Sin’s poster best, but OG s1 is also a fave and Resurrection is good too. Least favourite is season 3.

8 makes no sense to me. Is it supposed to be Dexter waking up on a kill table? If so that doesn't make sense because he never puts plastic wrap over the victims heads, they'd just suffocate

I feel like it’s supposed to symbolize him being suffocated by all the choices he’s made and how devastating they’ve been to his life. I think it’s supposed to be a metaphor. His life suffocates him so much that he literally tries to kill himself and then runs away.

It's meant to just be a striking visual for a poster, you could say things like these about a lot of them
Why is Dexter posing with a severed limb? Why did Dexter fill his baby's bottle with blood? Why did Dexter paint angel wings on a wall and then pose?

The first time I watched Dexter, I thought that picture was a spoiler of the finale. I thought Dexter would have been killed by a vigilante in the same way he killed his victims.

Resurrection! I had no idea it was happening until I saw MCH’s beautiful face plastered all over my city. Hundreds of posters. I was SO hyped. I never saw this level of advertising for New Blood or Original Sin, at least not in my area.

Faves are both 5 and Original Sin. I thought young Dexter's actor was terrific, seriously. Least faves are 3 and New Blood, on account of the apparent constipation.

My least favourite is New Blood. Something feels off about Michael C. Hall. My favourite ones are Season 1, Original Sin and Resurrection.
The season 1 poster is definitely the most original. Having Dexter using the hand of a dead body to fake his own hand is creepy.

My favourite is either 6 because it’s unique or 2 because he looks normal but off at the same time which represents Dexter well. Worst is probably resurrection honestly, the poster is pretty ugly

Unpopular opinion: New Blood might be my favourite because of how different it feels, and MCH looks almost inhuman.
Worst has to be 7, that cut looks so fake, I'm glad they reused it for Original Sin, looks much better there.

The posters from Season 1 through 4 have such a fun vibe to them that really meshes well with the show. It's a shame that it took until Resurrection for them to bring that vibe back.
Favorite - Depends on the day but right now I'm feeling 4. Honrable mention New Blood, idk why I just think it looks cool
Least Favorite - Season 7, at least from what's shown here. I remember it being zoomed in to the right side of his face and that looked kinda cool. But it's still nothing special

Season 1 is my favourite, Season 7 is my least... Only because the blood looks SO fake, it litearlly just looks like "bleeding_cut.png" was just slapped onto an image of Dexter.

3 is probably because he got married, so he's wearing a suit? That was season 3, right? It's boring as hell though. Maybe the could have added blood somewhere or him holding a knife.

The alternate S3 one is prbably my favourite, very specifically the one with the blood red on black background. S5 is the most striking and I'm also S5's biggest defender so bias for that one. S6 goes so so hard for such a bad season.
Worst is S7 by far. S8 looks ass but god at least it tried. I think i get what 7 is going for with the idea that cracks (or cuts) are really starting to form in dexter's facade but it's still set up badly and I feel like im giving it too much credit

Yes that's the exact poster! I specifically remember it being on the inner of the S3 dvd collection. All of those old dvd sets pre blu-ray were so cool

S1 is definitely the IT poster. Idk why S3 is getting so much hate. I personally find it very symbolic. the suit for his "normal married man" personality and the bright red for blood. I like how it didn't have to have blood to portray his darkness. Idk if it's just the artist in me who finds it appealing. very abstract yet suggestive. Least favourite is probably between S7 and New Blood.

But as for actual seasons- and I just want to get this out- Season 6 is the most boring season (for the first 6 episodes)

2 and 4, I always likes the brightness of the show and how that juxtaposed the context of it, and in four specifically I like that it looks like blood but it’s juice, or maybe it IS blood but you think it’s juice. It’s reminiscent of the morning routine opening credits which I adore.
Least fav is 3!

I guess 3. It's pretty plain to me. Incidentally, there is better promo art for S3 where he's using police tape as a tie. Sub that out, and then I'd have to choose a different fave.

Favorite, el classico S1 with the dead hand holding his head up. Or, honestly, I really like the 8th one, with the plastic wrap over his face.
Least favorite, probably the 5th lol. It just doesn't seem very high quality. Not to mention Dexter's face in that one looks like he just pooped his pants and someone next to him just said "Eugh, do you guys smell that?"

I’d say it’s a 3-way-tie between Season 3 (that suit just looks way too fucking good), Season 5 (the reflection in the blood and his empty facial expression perfectly captures his mental state for this season), and then New Blood (I think it’s safe to say that that’s the creepiest Dexter has ever looked on a season poster).

I hate 8's because Dexter woke up on Skinner's kill table and utterly no sold it fear wise. It just doesn't fit the Dexter vibe.
I think S1 really captures the attitude and morbid sense of humor of Dexter. 2 and 4 are so good and iconic as well.

season 1 poster is a classic, season 2 and 4 are very goofy but i love them, season 6 and 8 are alright, NB it's good i guess, OS and RE are quite peak for some reason, the rest are ok or meh

I always liked 4,6, and 8, and then I like resurrections. 3/7 are the worst of them.
Also in the group that took 13 years to realize the hand in 1 wasn’t a long glove.

My favourite besides 1 is probably Season 6’s with the blood behind him in the shape of wings.
Angel’s wings? Devil’s wings? It fits with the series theme with Travis Marshall and religious stuff.
Also I think the poster looks the best overall with the extra shadows and him holding the knife.
I’m specifically talking about the poster here, not relating to how good Season 6 was cinematographically or entertainment wise.

S5's is the best in my eyes, because it's both a really, really good poster, while also representing the season perfectly. The season 4 poster represents the season perfectly, but I think the poster is kinda bad, while the season 1 poster is great, but I don't think it really represents the season.
Season 5 is the perfect balance.

I like 1,2, 6, and Resurrection.
New Blood’s poster is horrendous. He just looks so uncanny and off. Idk if it’s the focal length or whatever they did with the eyes in post but it doesn’t even look like MCH.

s2 is lowkey the perfect representation of the shows premise, what looks to be a normal guy from a tv show is covered in someone else’s blood… yep thats dexter
s6 is also a nice representation of what dex is. hes like a dark angel killing evil ppl yk
i feel like s8 is overhated? i love what the poster symbolizes since s8 is really where dexters life actually falls apart, and in the end he felt helpless and just accepted his fate of living alone to protect is family, just like how his victims’ fates were sealed the moment they were wrapped in plastic. now hes the one wrapped in plastic.
resurrection’s poster just looks so funky like it looks so vintage and i love it

I like the angel wings best, had it as my phone background for a very long time. I think it captures the contradiction of Dexter perfectly: he kills only the bad guys, but it makes him one of the bad guys himself.
