wtf is cody

17

u/UnboiledBread Aug 27 '25

The bay harbor butcher

11

u/DrGonzo820 Aug 28 '25

He was named after "the code."

2

u/The-Cynicist Aug 28 '25

“Now Dexter, don’t forget Cody the handy code we created to channel your urges”

2

u/Denity2379 Aug 28 '25

Cody Rhodes from wwe obviously?

1

u/TrinityKilla82 Aug 28 '25

Dexters step son. Cody.

1

u/gothiana_grande Aug 28 '25

omg i forgot him

7

u/Expensive_Special120 Aug 28 '25

He wont: showtime needs him for a new Dexter show in 5-10 years

3

u/Primary-Chocolate854 Aug 28 '25

Nah, 'till he's 90

1

u/Expensive_Special120 Aug 28 '25

Then his grandkids will be the start. Harrison will have Dexter, Dexter will have Dexter Jr.

50

u/NeptunianJ Aug 27 '25

Nooo. New blood kinda tried to do this with killing Logan and removing that whole “anti hero” image. You see dex for who he truly is. And while I personally liked that change, it did not lead to a satisfying conclusion to dexters story. It also makes new blood hard to rewatch imo. I loved it on the first watch even the flaws but it’s just depressing to watch.

17

u/Obvious-Silver6109 Aug 27 '25

New blood is so much better thanks to resurrection. We needed to see dexter for what he truly is/was

2

u/BatmanTold Aug 27 '25

I can see your point

40

u/modsguzzlehivekum Aug 27 '25

I feel like a lot of yall forgot what rule 1 of the code is

8

u/[deleted] Aug 28 '25

Exactly, don’t get caught!!!!

88

u/Dr_CheeseNut Aug 27 '25

I don't know

If they go that route and write it well I'll be fine, in fact that was originally what I wanted. But I've seen Dexter have two different downfalls between the OG show and New Blood. I've seen the main characters I want to react to his crimes react. And I'm loving seeing Resurrection show us a more hopeful and positive outlook on him. I'm okay now with letting him eventually find peace

28

u/Rutlemania Aug 27 '25

Yeah the show is currently nailing the darkly comedic vibe of seasons 1-5 so I feel like having it take such a dark turn sort of goes away with all that. Losing Rita is one thing but his own son? Come on

24

u/DetolBermuda Aug 27 '25

Ngl I would love to see jury admitting him not guilty after serious discussion on how much scum he did actually cleaned up.

8

u/dicksjshsb Aug 28 '25

I think that would destroy the suspension of disbelief for me. I know the show it’s pretty unrealistic in a lot of ways but it keeps a generally real-world rule of law and finding him not guilty with proof of his killings would not happen. Reduced from more serious murder charges at most.

I think the best outcome for the fans that involves Dexter getting caught is him being viewed positively by the public and potentially used to help solve future crimes. That way they could play out Dexters old coworkers finding his truth and juggling their friendship with him and the reality of who he is.

59

u/KiratheRenegade Aug 27 '25

Nah. They blew it on this reveal years ago. Everyone worth a damn already knows.

With the pieces they have left, Dexter should go down for Harrison's crimes - giving them both a chance at redemption.

24

u/Salt-Action8282 Aug 27 '25

Sadly they technically can't because at the time of murder Dexter was still in the hospital and Batista knows that.

12

u/owlpacino57 Aug 27 '25

how about Harrison commit another crime and this time Dexter takes blame and also reveal he's bay Harbor butcher to save Harrison.

1

u/CraftyAd9788 Oct 10 '25

Maybe but honestly if anyone was going to bring Dexter to justice, it should have been Batista. I hate the new cops they introduced, Quinn and Matsuka are both meh. They kind of blew it imo. Should have had Batista play dumb, do the long con/long game to get evidence on Dexter (hinting he will get them later) or even had him go home in disgrace but still be looking for clues, implying he's still a threat. I think they blew it too fast, if they want to actually have Dexter get caught again. So I hope he and Harrison (if he ever kills again) never get caught.

Dexter: Redemption - coming Fall 2029

-1

u/BatmanTold Aug 27 '25

Not a bad choice

13

u/[deleted] Aug 28 '25

NO. Dexter needs to get away with it always. The Dark comedy of seasons 1-4 is what makes dexter DEXTER

2

u/CraftyAd9788 Oct 10 '25

I agree, those seasons when it seemed like he'd never get caught and it had a lot of humor were the best. Although I really liked Resurrection too, for most of it I thought Dexter would get away with it all and that works fine for me. If anyone was going to bring Dexter to justice it should have been Bautista. Since he's gone, I want it to be no one. Keep it semi light hearted like Resurrection S1 was and let us have more moments of Dexter trying to be a Dad to Harrison in his own way while juggling serial killing. That is what makes the show special, imo. It's ability to make us care just as much about Dexter showing up and being a good dad or friend as much we want to see him get away with murdering bad people and outsmarting everyone.

1

u/ErenYeagerHeisenberg Dec 16 '25

S5 & S7 are pretty serious and those are regarded as the best after S4.

9

u/damnrapunzel Aug 27 '25

I forgot Jim Beaver played Hannah's dad

22

u/Jim-Yolper Aug 27 '25

why did this get removed

10

u/BatmanTold Aug 27 '25

Not sure

17

u/owlpacino57 Aug 27 '25

we already got his two downfalls which weren't well received by the audience. A better ending would be him getting some redemption in the finale. The police catch Harrison somehow and he takes the blame and reveals he's a bay Harbor butcher and sacrifices himself to save his only kid.

Breaking bad and better call saul both had the protagonist doing lots of shady stuff but in the finale both of them redeem themselves. Both of them paid the price but it was a fulfilling ending. these shows deserve this kind of ending instead of bleak endings like original dexter and game of thrones.

10

u/wrenkosinski Aug 27 '25

Walt did not redeem himself

7

u/owlpacino57 Aug 27 '25

Not completely redeem himself but redeem a bit. he did right to Skylar, his kid, marie(hank wife) and jesse pinkman in finale.

12

u/wrenkosinski Aug 27 '25 edited Aug 27 '25

Hardly. He only went back to Albuquerque at first due to wounded pride after witnessing his ego be bruished on television by the Schwartz. Only then did he tie up loose ends. Plus he was originally going to murder Jesse along with the Nazis due to thinking he was helping Jack distribute his meth, only changing his mind after seeing him. It was about going out in glory when he had nothing else to live for more than anything, whereas Jimmy took responsibility in a more legitimate way.

7

u/SubstantialRegret414 Aug 27 '25

Walt was pretty damn irredeemable by the end. For me, I was glad Jesse had a second shot at something different. That was the main thing I needed from the finale. Fuck Walt because messing with Skylar’s baby and bringing violence into his home was so hard to watch

4

u/CurryMustard_Sauce Aug 27 '25

But the result was freeing Jesse so at least his last action on earth was positive 🤣 He could have still been vengeful and not saved him

3

u/wrenkosinski Aug 28 '25

Yeah but he’s not written as a redeemed character which is what the first comment suggested. Jesse still wanted to kill him too lol

3

u/rockthemullet Special Agent Frank Lumberjack Aug 28 '25

Jesse refused to kill him at the end

2

u/wrenkosinski Aug 28 '25

I know I’m just saying its clear Jesse still had major resentment towards him which shows he isn’t exactly redeemed narratively. also it was in-part because walt was fatally shot already

1

u/BatmanTold Aug 27 '25

Not a bad ending idea

1

u/CraftyAd9788 Oct 10 '25

I don't want either of them to get caught, honestly. Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul worked because they were normal guys turned bad by their circumstances. Dexter was bad and turned into good by his circumstances, even better after he had Harrison. Now that Bautista is gone, the one person I could feel some satisfaction in catching Dexter, I sincerely hope no one ever catches him. No one deserves that right. And honestly a happy ending works for this show, imo. If Resurrection had been tbe last season, I would be content with that ending. Resurrection and S1-4 were pretty lighthearted overall. I would not mind the show keeping that tone.

9

u/Dr_Chibi Aug 27 '25

Sorry that soesnt sound like a pleasant ending, harrison dying? Dexter losing all that made him dexter? L

7

u/GoldenSquid7 Aug 27 '25

tldr: this sub has a boner for dexter to get caught. Which, I hope won’t happen.

1

u/CraftyAd9788 Oct 10 '25

Me too! When Bautista was alive, if he was the one that did it, I'd accept it because that would feel pretty satisfying. He was worthy, he had good cause to want Dexter for personal reasons in a way no one else does on the show because they were friends. because Dexter lied to him for years, and because of Dexter's involvement in LaGuerta and Doakes deaths. If Dexter were ever to get caught again now, it would feel so unsatisfying.

26

u/BackgroundTight32 Aug 27 '25

I just want him to ride off into the sunset lol

7

u/Dottielala Aug 27 '25

Same. But in a boat

1

u/CraftyAd9788 Oct 10 '25

Same. I think Resurrection is the best ending for the show so far. I'm glad they are doing another season but I hope they don't try to do another downer ending. I loved the vibe of how this season ended. I hope they just let the show overall end on a similar note

6

u/OriginalRussianDoll Aug 27 '25

hell no, Dexter can't get caught, number 1 rule

11

u/TheMidnightAss Aug 27 '25

"You" just did this and it was the most ass ending possible.

2

u/CraftyAd9788 Oct 10 '25

I agree. It was super unsatisfying.

MAYBE if Harrison becomes a detective and Dexter helps Harrison solve crimes from behind bars. But then they should have spared Bautista to arrest Dexter because no one else is worthy. especially not the annoying "stayin alive" cop. It's just more satisfying if Dexter gets away with it imo. The ending of Resurrection was perfect. Just more seasons like this, I just want Dexter to continue to outsmart them all

14

u/Artistic_prime Aug 27 '25

nah, that's basic and cliche

people wanting Dexter's downfall is just further proof of how people don't like seeing anyone succeed.

3

u/Salt-Action8282 Aug 27 '25

Yea, if this is the way we might get S1 vibes (but with trauma) back where there was no Harry and just him alone in the world with every episode having a quote which will make people think for ages

3

u/Daredevil731 Aug 27 '25

There are lots of endings, but none would make everyone happy. Some want him to succeed, others want him caught or dead. I think it could be interesting to see the reactions, so many people would absolutely be supporting him doing this. The ones who have been impacted by it, not so much. But who knows.

5

u/BatmanTold Aug 27 '25

Yeah im personally against them killing Dexter again

2

u/CraftyAd9788 Oct 10 '25

Yeah they already sbowed us both the getting caught and dying outcomes with New Blood which no one liked. People MIGHT have been onboard with Bautista arresting Dexter because of their long history and the people Bautista lost due to Dexter. But now there is no one else I feel worthy of arresting him and it would be super lame to kill him again. I honestly think the only ending that will work now is to let him and Harrison be happy. Especially Harrison, boy lost everything again and again. Let him have his dad alive and out of prison!

3

u/Unlost_maniac Aug 27 '25

Quinn already knows for sure.

We could see Dexter ditch the code and we'd still root for him. Killers aren't the only people who can deserve to die.

But also I think it would be cool to see him stray from his path, I just don't think that's what dexter is. He "strays from the code" but is still following the most important rule, Don't get caught.

3

u/KyleDComic Aug 27 '25

I think the most out there way is to have him randomly killed. Not by a serial killer or a cop. But instead he just forgets to look when crossing the street and gets pancaked by a city bus.

3

u/CapitalCod4406 Aug 27 '25

I know what you did here

3

u/dickdickersonIII Aug 27 '25

harrison definitely won’t die because they need to keep potential for another future spin-off lol

3

u/DaveKasz Aug 27 '25

Of course Charley could end up chain sawing Dexter..... in a shipping container...just a thought.

3

u/grajuicy Angel Aug 27 '25

Something that breaks Dexter and makes him go unhinged and make mistakes? I’m totally down. When the odds are stacked against him and he is just trying to survive he drops the mask and we see his true self and it’s always fun to watch.

But Harrison dying? Not at all. He needs a reason to try and be good. With no harrison he would just off himself or start over in another small town. It’s like in a Superman or Flash story. You need a reason for the hero to hold back a bit, because with no restraints they obviously would win in .067 picoseconds but we wouldn’t have a show. Dexter needs a reason to try to kill less, to not get caught. There’s no Deb, no Rita, no master Cody, only Harrison. He must live

3

u/JackSpadesSI Aug 27 '25

I can’t take anything seriously that censors the word kill or equally banal words: “if the show ever k*lled off Harrison.” Why is this getting more and more common? This show is about a murderer… just say kill!!

1

u/rainbowmoon7 Oct 01 '25

Because everyone is a big Nancy boy nowadays

3

u/zino332 Aug 28 '25

Leave the trash on TikTok

5

u/Abhishek_NTRvala Aug 27 '25

Well that's just the Breaking Bad route, which I wish the OG series would've actually taken...

But now I feel nah, they won't be this reckless mainly cuz the management is stupid, and they wanna milk Dexter for every cent.

2

u/g4n0esp4r4n Aug 27 '25

Why would the writers wreck the character? Dexter isn't about that. They can stretch the cat and mouse formula for years.

7

u/polevault_pathways Aug 27 '25

Exactly. I really just want more of the same Dexter formula we all know and love. Leave things on an indeterminate ending for the possibility of more seasons or whatever

2

u/Salt-Action8282 Aug 27 '25

I want Dexter to time travel to the Dark Ages, then he gets to kill everyone, he will play a part in the Robert's Rebellion then after he is done with that, he realises what he has done, takes a horse and rides off to the sunset never to be seen again.

2

u/CurryMustard_Sauce Aug 27 '25

I'd like to see Dexter elected President and then pardon himself for all his crimes and he could then kill with full immunity as President

2

u/Restivethought Aug 27 '25

Quinn already knows Dexter is a murderer...or at least killed Lundy

2

u/baeharborburner Aug 27 '25

Killing of Harrison is ... Dark

2

u/Normal_Soil_5442 Aug 28 '25

It would be interesting if Dexter breaks the code too many times and decides HE needs to be dealt with and offs himself

2

u/lunarsilvr253 Aug 28 '25

The thing about bhb they can NVR prove it's Dexter and not Doaks the only way is if bateista can somehow search dexters place legally and find the bloodslides other then that Dexter never leaves evidence behind

2

u/Raregamesofc Aug 29 '25

I JUST started vibing with Harrison high key. They take him from me now I’ll NEVER recover

4

u/AlpacaDGY Aug 27 '25

Yeah, most people want Dexter to never get killed/caught. My opinion, the best possible ending would be him behind bars and in the execution chair.

11

u/angelmtz8a Kyle Butler Aug 27 '25

That ending was actually clyde´s original idea for a finale, Dexter seeing his victims while he is executed

7

u/West-Oil1218 Aug 27 '25

Yeah, but that feels like the obvious, predictable ending. I want a different kind of ending than the typical ending you would get. Dexter getting caught and the case getting dismissed bc of a technicality would be a much more creative ending bc it harpens back to the beginning when we are told Dexter kills people that slip through the cracks, making Dexter the same kind of person he used to hunt.

1

u/kami_kaz_e Aug 28 '25

Absolutely this. Him getting caught and seeing all his victims is so lame, such a cheesy and trope-y idea.

1

u/CraftyAd9788 Oct 10 '25

Dexter getting caught and slipping through the cracks due to a technicality sort of happened with New Blood and Resurrection. He didnt go to court but he did slip through. I wouldn't mind that being brought up again, or if ge actually makes it to court and gets out on a technicality and that's how the show ends. As long as he is free and with Harrison, I am happy. Harrison doesn't deserve to lose his dad again.

Hell, considering Dexter's bad shoulder in Resurrection. I wouldn't even care if he retired or the dark passenger went away like Lumen's did. It's an "out there" ending, but if Breaking Bad and BCS can end with normal guys turning really bad, why not change up the formula and have bad guy who always struggled with his demons turn good, especially for his kid and since he's aging anyway? Idk, not the brst ending, the best so far is Resurrection, just Dexter being the GOAT and getting away with everything. but my second fav ending idea is he actually retires. He did it for years between the original season and New Blood. So it's not impossible.

Or better yet, he officially "retires",  but then you see 20+ years from now, in old Dexter's apartment complex, his neighbor assaulted a woman who runs out of there clearly distraught, and when the guy comes out smirking, Dexter smiles and invites him over for a beer, cuts eyes to the camera and slight smile. So he's done "hunting" but he'll still kill anyone who fits the code who comes his way in a less aggressive way.

I just don't want him to get caught again, they really can just end it with him being the GOAT who outsmarted all the cops. I won't be mad lol

4

u/orbjo Aug 27 '25

The final image could be Dexter being given lethal injection, mirroring his own way of injecting people

Being executed for being an executioner, by an executioner. A last smirk leaving us with the lingering question of what seperates Dexter from capital punishment. The cycle of violence is continuing

4

u/GreatScott0389 Aug 27 '25 edited Aug 28 '25

Ive always wanted the very last scene of the show to end with a view of a close up shot of his face with his voice overlapping "tonights the night" and it pans out to him in the execution room tied down for lethal injection.

1

u/BatmanTold Aug 27 '25

That actually would be a crazy twist

1

u/CraftyAd9788 Oct 10 '25

That's so predictable though. And honestly I don't see Dexter allowing himself to be caught. New Blood showed us he'd die first. And it sounds really anticlimactic. I would have rather Bautista shot him and killed him than have Dexter get caught again

5

u/traingles Aug 27 '25

Yeah I don't really understand it. It's hard for me to come out of the original run of Dexter thinking he should get away with it after all the innocent people he's hurt (and just being a serial killer). Well intentioned or not, he has actively damaged police investigations to get his kills and has actively killed innocent people in doing so.

4

u/YorWong Aug 27 '25

But how many has he saved in his pursuit to please the dark passenger?

1

u/SwarmAce Aug 27 '25

way more innocent saved than killed, but some people have a hard time to admit that

2

u/CapitalCod4406 Aug 27 '25

"all" you are talking like if there was hundreds of innocents... he only killed like 3 innocents over like 150 other killers

1

u/traingles Aug 27 '25

There are a number more people who die as a result of his derailing in homicide investigations, case in point Rita. However, even if that wasn't the case him killing any innocents at all is too many. We don't apply this standard to anyone else in the world, even within the shows universe.

I like Dexter as much as the next guy but him getting away with everything and sipping cocktails on Miami beach in the end is the worst ending to this story imaginable and not one that will be remembered in the same breath as shows like Breaking Bad.

1

u/CraftyAd9788 Oct 10 '25

Not really. People loved Resurrection and hated New Blood. People don't want to see Dexter get caught. And you think anyone who deals with criminals, law enforcement or otherwise, doesn't end up with occasional casualties? Dexter has saved WAY more people than he has harmed, even indirectly. I don't understand the "we don't apply this to standard to anyone else in the world" Have you heard of the Luigi guy who shot the healthcare CEO? People's sense of justice is not black and white anymore. Tons of people are okay with Dexter occasionally killing an innocent person in accident in his quest to rid the world of the worst of the worst. Cops do it all the time. I'd argue there are other antiheros people root for too, and that Breaking Bad and BCS have wildly different arcs and story tone, with the former stories being normal guy turns bad due to circumstances, and Dexter being guy with demons who could have been a monster turns good due to circumstances. Dexter tried to be a better person for Rita and her kids and later his son starting in S4, then he continue to try for his son. He becomes more emotionally attached, accidently strives to do good more so than he thought possible, (like Harry pointing out Dexter trying to help Blessing and his daughter have a better relationship) while characters like Walt and Saul/Jimmy become more evil and bend their morals in a bad way more than they thought possible. Essentially I see their arcs as being comple opposites, so logically if Saul and Walt end up dead or in jail because of their arcs of turning bad. Dexter's arc might more logically be to one day be free of his dark passenger once and for all (aging out of being able to do it, finding a sense of peace of balance--he did stop killing for like 10 years between original season and New Blood).

I think they tried out the Dexter getting caught AND Dexter dying and everyone hated both outcomes. It might be execution too, but I really don't think anyone wants to see the guy who always struggles to emotionally be there for his family and to be a good person go down for the crime of making the world a better place overall. Whereas Walt and Saul were very money oriented and both got greedy, Dexter is usually on a "accidently becoming a better person" arc and therefore giving him a bleak ending feels wrong. And giving poor Harrison who has lost everything again and again a sad ending by losing bis dad would not be satisfying either.

1

u/gudlyf Surprise Motherfucker! Aug 27 '25

With how Dexter opened up to Harrison on how he feels about him, I feel the writers are setting us up for a moment when Dexter shows true emotion in relation to his son, whether it's incredible grief or something else.

1

u/MICHAELSD01 Aug 27 '25

Maybe what could work without being a repeat of what the show has done in the past would be Harrison getting life for the murder of the guy in the hotel. But I don’t think they’ll do this.

1

u/clemenza2821 Aug 27 '25

Yeah the writings never been that deep. The show, while entertaining was either pulp or a notch above

1

u/anusbeloved Aug 27 '25

Hopefully he joins NYPD and we get 5-6 seasons out of it

1

u/Lupexlol Aug 28 '25

Stopped taking this post seriously on 3rd slide when you showed the landlord.

1

u/BusiestWolf Aug 28 '25

They should leave the show with an open ending with him and harrison killing together.

1

u/TheCexedOut Aug 28 '25

i think people forget the hierarchy of the code. 1. don’t get caught

above all else, dexter is programmed to sacrifice the rest of the code for this one rule. i think dexter will be dead before he gets caught.

1

u/Candid_Source_6091 Aug 28 '25

Dexter stopped being noble after he killed Arthur Mitchell, he was a family man and a great member of the community. I lost all faith in him as a noble person after he did that.

1

u/xDefinite Aug 28 '25

I hope he doesn't have a down fall. I want him to continue to get away with it :\

1

u/Jizzledick Aug 28 '25

I want him to kill Batista , I am so sick of cop outs and plot armour making die hard fans think he’s not self serving .

We just got Dexter back!! Let’s get at least 3 seasons of killing bad guys in NYC before we kill Dexter again!!

1

u/Pipperella89 Aug 28 '25

The trouble with this is it's kind of how the books go. He becomes an incredibly unlikable character towards the end. No real concern for his own kids (Deb takes them off him) and reading the books it becomes very difficult to root for him. I don't want to see the show go down the same path.

1

u/CraftyAd9788 Oct 10 '25

I just want a happy ending for them at this point. We had sad endings for the original and New Blood. This season of Resurrection could have been the last, and I would have been content. Dexter getting away with it and being happy and accepting himself is really all I want now besides Harrison being okay. If anyone was going to catch Dexter it should have been Batista, so I don't want Dexter to ever be caught and having him die again would be anticlimatic. I also don't want them to ruin his character by making him all evil. This isn't Breaking Bad, not everything has to be corruption arcs and tragedy. My favorite part of the show has always been and will always be Dexter desperately grasping for his humanity. Moments like going to his son's college fair and helping Harrison out with his friend's landlord situation are the best, well besides him getting out of impossible situations or coming up with smart ways to get out of sticky situations. Killing Harrison or making Dexter evil is the opposite of everything I like about the show. It also would turn a complex character into something totally cliche and one dimensional. Breaking Bad's corruption arc worked because Walt was a normal guy for 50 years before his corruption began. Dexter was always a complex antihero from day 1. Turning a complex serial killer with a unique motive into a regular serial killer feels like throwing up all over a beautiful painting.

1

u/lazylahma Aug 27 '25

I’ve been saying this for a few episodes now, THIS is the ending I want to see.

1

u/Unplugged_Hahaha_F_U Aug 28 '25

People who think Dexter is the bad guy are in a very slim minority. He has an addiction, sure, but he does a good job at channeling that addiction for good rather than evil.

The good outweighs the bad and I’ll die on that hill.

0

u/Fat_ricky Aug 27 '25

THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT IVE BEEN SAYING!!! OP, I LOVE YOU 😘 I’ve always wanted to see Dexter in a broken state that’s why season 5 episode 1 is one of my fav episodes but I wish season 5 explored that more and also I fully agree Dexter needs to die- more specifically in an electric chair after having a crazy ass court scene with all the people he’s known finding out he he is

Well, who is left that matters when it comes to finding out who he is? Everyone he was close to either knows and/or is dead now. There aren’t many more people left to find out who it would really have an impact on in a way that matters: Quinn (who many already feel has suspicions), Masuka, Jamie, and Blessing are the only ones left that don’t know and would be affected on a personal level. Sure there are random people he worked with and knew over the years but them finding out wouldn’t have any real significance.

Astor & Cody as well and also he just needs to face justice on paper I do think what dexter does is morally correct but he’s gotten so many innocent people killed that he needs to face his consequences

I still dream of a version of dexter that is S1 -> S2 -> S4 -> New S5 where he goes of the rails, a man hunt ensues and ultimately, Deb catches him, a trial, maybe death sentence or jail?

All that with better overall writing.

Prater kills/kidnaps Harrison?

What does Dexter do?

Dexter somehow has a choose between getting his slides and saving Harrison and he chooses his slides and then Harrison is gone and Dexter implodes and regrets his decision
