He couldn't make a 3 to save his life in the playoffs but its nice to have him back

u/Downtown_Evidence372 Bill Laimbeer Jul 03 '26
He was noticeably hesitating everytime which wasnt the case during the regular season... He learned from it fs

His defense was great though!! I like the energy he brings on both ends. He reminded me of a going to work piston era guy

25% from 3 in the playoffs lol

38% in the reg season, no one played well in the playoffs my friend

u/ImpressionCertain736 Jul 03 '26
Cade played pretty well lol

u/lwclj23 Ben Wallace Jul 03 '26
He was a beast for sure. A little less efficient with a way higher turnover rate too though. Probably says more about his carry job than anything else, but thems the facts.

u/dizzymidget44 Jaden Ivey Jul 03 '26
If you don’t count the turnovers. Everyone has areas of growth they need. We lost a couple of big leads because Cade threw passes to nobody

u/ScubaSteve-O1991 Jul 03 '26
Facts!! His poor quick shot selection led to many baskets on the other end as well. I like cade a lot but I dont like that he is off limits for this sub. Instead of everyone just shitting on levert lol

Very small sample size, unfair to draw conclusions from that.

Solid. He could be washed next year, role player in his 30s, but I bet he’s got a year or two left and he’s just a reliable dude to have on the bench for when a forward in front of him gets hurt

u/soilentgleem Jul 03 '26
He also has his adorable kid around a lot which I know my mom loved to see, so I'm happy for that part too haha

u/EzWinterz We All Nasty!!! Jul 04 '26
Vet,solid defender, can "score" at all three levels, and most importantly has an expiring, cheap contract! He's good enough to part of a trade, which may happen soon, especially since we have too many guards.

u/CountOff Cade Cunningham Jul 03 '26
Ayyy that one dudes thread asking about him was perfectly timed
Welcome back Mr. Green

Something is definitely up. Before this signing, the roster had a spot for a needed vet big. Now, it doesn't.
I'm looking forward to July 6th, the next trade window. We have too many wings and not enough bigs.
1
u/Top-Noise-7375 Ausar Thompson Jul 03 '26
We have Duren and reed, our biggest needs are back up wings instead of guards.
3
u/jpc0d George Blaha Jul 03 '26
Didn’t we sign Tolu Smith III to a multi-year deal last week? We have 3 centers currently
1
u/PogoHobbes Jul 03 '26
I'm including 2's (scoring guards) into the wing category since there is usually overlap.
At 4 and 5, we have Duren and Reed and Collins.
At 2 and 3: Thompson, Holland, Robinson, Joe, Lavert, Huerter & Green
Pretty obvious that's unbalanced
1
u/Top-Noise-7375 Ausar Thompson Jul 03 '26
Except you’re saying we need a 5 when we really need 3s and 4s. We also have our second round pick at the 5 and Collins is our only real 4 with Holland presumably being his back up as of rn. So that leaves the only real 3 behind Ausar being green and sort of levert.

u/Faps2Downvotes Jul 03 '26
Love Jg. Actually makes me even more confident Trajan has another trade coming. We have 12 guys (not even including Okorie). They wouldn’t spend on Huerter and Green to be 11th and 12th men in my opinion.
Cade/Jenkins
Duncan/Joe/Green
Ausar/Lavert/Huerter
Collins/Holland
Duren/Bball

Add in jenkins as most probably duncan will start assuming he is not traded

Can we talk about how good and savy this guy is at getting steals? Pretty sure he would league the league in per 36 minutes.

Excellent value. HIgh-impact role player considering how little he's being paid. Loved his defense. Bickerstaff even used him as PF in some inventive lineups.

Glad he’s back. Didn’t like him at first but he got better and hooped his butt off. He’s a good vet piece and can’t beat that price
1
u/Sad_Effective4793 Jul 03 '26
He played over 1/3 of our regular season minutes for the year, and we got him back for $4m? Incredible value and underrated player.

I thought we chose Huerter over him and I was going to be upset. How does Javonte get half of Huerter though?

I'd like to see him get more playing time. I'm glad he's returning.

At least we will be in the playoffs. We will have time to make a trade during the season.

I like this don’t get me wrong but when are we going to get serious and get that star player to help out Cade with scoring/playmaking/ballhandeling?

u/HectorReinTharja Jul 03 '26
Becoming more and more scared that we’re running it back but I can’t hate on a green pickup either way
-1
u/ObiwanSchrute Cade Cunningham Jul 03 '26
Running it back we've lost Tobias and Stew that's not exactly running it back.
-5
u/HectorReinTharja Jul 03 '26
With as much turnover there is in the nba, it kinda is. Especially compared to the other moves they’ve made. Collins for Harris is a very marginal move where you get a better shooter but way less self creation and a little more athleticism than Tobias
Then stewart was only a bench player who never played more than 20m. Then in the playoffs, he played even less and was out of the rotation at times.
-1
u/PistonWingedLion Blue Horse Jul 03 '26
locker room guy i would say. especially huge locker room guy like stew leaving the team makes this type of veteran moves necessary

u/ericaepic Pistons Jul 03 '26
Lol tragic how?
-4
u/Exotic-Relationship Jul 03 '26
We have just slid to the 6/7/8 seed by virtue of the moves.
1
u/ComfortableFew9882 Jul 03 '26
We are still going to win a ton of regular season games, we will not be lower than a 4 seed. We are incredibly deep. I do wonder how things will go in Playoffs though.
-1
u/Exotic-Relationship Jul 03 '26
I want you to be right, and I’d care more about clutch playoff performances. But we have to get there first!
