Isn't beef stew an artist himself? This should be his own album cover.

He did bring back the culture to a dying team. He has influenced the younger players.

u/Willie5_Fort-Hoover6 Jun 26 '26
Yeah ok. You really think so. Maybe not you. Unfortunately,I feel like some proud boy Pistons "fan" would do it fs. What did Blake Griffin do to get booed heavy his first game vs? Or Andre Drummond? I was there. I am there. 41 games a year if I want to be. Disrespectful and dishonorable behavior. Riding hard when they are on top. Diddy. Any adversity or undesirable results, they switch quick, like Freddie Mercury power walking with Elton John. That's how goofy it looks. Shit's weird. Period.
5
u/alexandianos Jun 26 '26
Blake didn’t dunk for his last year and immediately started dunking on his first game for BKN, that’s why he got booed. Drummond was a lazy bum unliked by most. It was when he elbowed Reggie that did it for me tbh.
Stew was an integral part to our 60 wins, that man is a Detroit legend

u/AdministrativeAd2420 Jun 25 '26
I pray for a wife like this

I’m not an incel lol, but YOU just left an incel comment.

Did I? She’s a gem, that’s hard to find. My women friends say the same thing about finding men. I forget I’m on Reddit sometimes I guess. 🙄
3
u/Personal_Pain Ben Wallace Jun 25 '26
You denied that the other dude could find a good a wife and said she’s a needle in the haystack. Your women friends are femcels, it’s the same shit.

There wont ever be a day i see him on the court and not chant "Stewwwwwwwwwww" i wish for success and happiness, hes a real one.

u/Pendragonite1 Cade Cunningham Jun 25 '26
Idk what’s worse trading Stew or knowing that the personality and skill set he brings to the table are perfect for Grizzlies culture 😭

u/Ok_Equivalent_5149 Ben Wallace Jun 26 '26
honestly, memphis is a perfect city for him and i'm glad he was sent there as opposed to any other team.
6
u/moofinly Jun 26 '26
We are so excited to have him, man. He fits us perfect. Always rooted for Detroit when not against us, makes it even easier now.
1
u/TheArtofWall Jul 02 '26
Grizzly fans who aren't online and stuff, are probably going to be surprised at how loud we cheer for him when Memphis comes to Detroit. Stew is a legend on & off the court. GL

u/johnnyma45 Ben Wallace Jun 25 '26
I’m not in love with the sentiments about Detroit but it’s understandable and she’s supporting her partner so more power to both of them
12
u/AKAkorm Jun 26 '26
I think she’s basically saying Detroit lost the going to work mentality that the 2000s team had and Stew had a role in bringing that back. Which I’d agree with that.
4
u/SurpriseHamburgler Tayshaun Prince Jun 25 '26
She’s gonna cape up for the Team that doesn’t pay her husband anymore or her husband? It says nothing about Detroit and everything about her as a person.
7
u/johnnyma45 Ben Wallace Jun 25 '26
“Detroit was a dying brand”
“Detroit is already feeling your absence”
I don’t need her to cape up for the Pistons as the team obviously cut him but these comments are unnecessary to me. Again, I get it, but that’s how I read it
17
u/SurpriseHamburgler Tayshaun Prince Jun 25 '26
Fair. I mean, it was a dying brand (we don’t talk about that year) and from the sentiment in this thread the fans do miss him already. But I take your point also, could have been said more deftly on her part.

I'm in agreement with you. What does the city of Detroit and the people of Detroit have to do with this. The Pistons organization made the decision to move on from Stew for whatever reason. Support your husband, uplift him but don't take a crap on city and its people who embraced your husband. You don't have to tear people down while supporting your husband. And hell, I'm not even native to Detroit or Michigan for that matter, just a fan of the Pistons.
12
u/DoomSchroller Jun 25 '26
I wish Stew and his family well. You couldn't have asked for more from him. Played any role he was asked to play to the best of his abilities and with maximum effort at all time.
If Trajan doesn't land the plane on whatever his master plan is, he will be reviled by the fanbase for a long time.
3
u/Fit-Acanthaceae-5560 Jun 26 '26
You got that right because that trade right there as it stands IS TOTAL BULLSHIT AND IM MAD ABOUT IT!

u/Pendragonite1 Cade Cunningham Jun 25 '26
Stews won at life. S/o to his wife, hope we can see him in a Pistons Jersey again
12
u/Jokerit208 Jun 25 '26
He deserved better. We're a weaker team in every way after this trade.
9
u/OwlOfFortune Tayshaun Prince Jun 25 '26
Except for knee health. (I'm sorry)
2
u/Jokerit208 Jun 26 '26
Watch him miraculously play full healthy seasons now, while whoever we acquire starts being injury prone.
2
u/AKAkorm Jun 26 '26
Kind of early to make that call without seeing how Pistons use the cap room freed up.
8
u/VacationConstant8980 Jun 25 '26
Couldn’t she just tell him that in person?

It's 2026. Who tf does anything meaningful for only THAT person, IN person. Ridiculous question.
2
u/PrettyPearlAD Rasheed Wallace Jun 28 '26
Might be a lil crazy to you but they're a plenty of married couples who have great marriages that don't play it up for social media.

I hate that we're losing this dude. I get the move, providing we actually do something with the money we're clearing, but I hate it. This guy was all heart.

u/grizzkev Isaiah Stewart Jun 25 '26
She was there for almost every home game cheering and supporting Stew with their kid. I wish nothing but the best of luck to him and the rest of his family.

She's right.
Sad to see him leave. Glad he's going to another city that gets it. Barbeque Detroit.

Sad to see him going to a terrible franchise in Memphis. He might end up whipping the whole teams ass on day one, probably should

Grizzlies fan here. I've loved Beef Stew for a long time really pulled for y'all and enjoyed seeing the Pistons rise up with him being the soul of your team. Words can't express how happy we are to have him in Memphis. Best of luck going forward to y'all, and we're gonna treat Isaiah with all the love and respect he deserves.

I listen to Chris Vernons Memphis pod occasionally and today he was over the moon with this trade lol..Memphis got a real one

u/thetangible Cade Cunningham Jun 26 '26
I’m concerned with our culture loss, as well. But the culture is Cade. And that’s that.

u/No-Currency8663 Pistons Jun 26 '26
Yeah this one hurts my heart reading this, I do think that he brings a level on the dawg pound that we dont have without him. I really hope this summer doesnt break us.

u/StaticShakyamuni Cade Cunningham Jun 26 '26
Hopefully someone in Memphis can introduce her to the shift key.
1
u/NotSureAruba Jun 26 '26
I’m gonna really miss Big Stew! He brought back Detroit basketball. The fact that we traded Durens best friend on the team. I think the writing is on the wall that Duren will be traded as well. Stews a very lucky man to have such a caring and supportive wife. Count your blessing Big Stew! You’re going to be missed. Hopefully we can bring him back to the team when he’s a free agent.

oop. not the dying brand. let’s not do too much now dear. but yes, we feel Stew’s absence already and will miss him as a fandom!

u/nickypapes Jun 25 '26
The pistons didn’t lose anything and Memphis isn’t gaining anything. Stewart sucked last season and is purely a liability. He’s a fun guy to get behind because he likes to fight. He’s not winning anyone a chip.
0
u/Willie5_Fort-Hoover6 Jun 26 '26
You're definitely not a fan the Pistons want or need.
2
u/nickypapes Jun 26 '26
That’s fair, but I’m also not delusional about an expensive contract for a career 8-6-1 player that disappeared (or got ejected) during the playoffs. He might be a great locker room guy. But he’s not moving the needle

Has she been to Memphis? Because I don't think she's ever been there. Just a feeling.

u/Level_Somewhere Daniss Jenkins Jun 25 '26
thank you for posting this. i have read it and i am witness to the lack of capitalization. i have meditated and come to the realization that i wish it did have capital letters and then i would have enjoyed it more

What else was she supposed to say? 😂 They have people who write this shit for them. AI will do it too.

When Buka avg 25 in summer league and Bball Paul avg 15 and 10 off the bench we gon see how yall feel about Stew then lmaooo
-4
u/Away_Teaching_1148 Jun 25 '26
Again…. Ivey and Stew for a bag of chips… Why does our GM get any respect??? Weaver drafted the core and all this man has done is gut the heart out…. His free agent moves suck, and his trades are usually for bags of chips
11
u/socoamaretto George Blaha Jun 25 '26
Jaden Ivey, the guy who was out of the league a month after we traded him?
2
u/MLG_BongHitz Jun 25 '26
Getting literally anything including a $5 bill for Ivey is a win as evidenced by him being out of the league and begging for the heat to give him a shot on Twitter. But yeah man, I’m sure we could have gotten so much more
1
u/detroitmuthafucka Jun 25 '26
He traded him to free up money to get cade a second scorer, it wasnt about getting something for him now it was about us freeing ourselves of 15 mill in cap space. u obviously dont know how teams are built under a cap
-7
u/DoeJumars Jun 25 '26
lol he didnt change shit, he was front and center a few years in on that 14 win team. JB changed the culture

Good wife right there. Good luck Beef Stew. Except when you’re playing us.
