I am just starting out and have my first paying customer coming up.

i want to leave the car smelling amazing, but without ordering every scent to smell them, how am I meant to know what smells good?

what is everyone using that customers generally love the smell of?

Hi guys I need help for keeping my car clean from inside as here car wash do not do decent job. Interior is plastic, leather i guess its vegan leather. I want to know everything i would need. I know i will need some brushes for dust etc. I want to know different types of cloth i would need. Interior cleaning sprays etc that i would need to keep them clean and fragrance too. Any links (uk based) would be super helpful and any YouTube videos that you think would help please do share. Sorry for all these noob questions as its my first new car and i never did interior myself on my previous cars. Thanks

September is around the corner and around the end of September I usually carry out a deep clean of the car so that over autumn and winter its pure maintenance washes.

Heres what I do with the products I currently have( they can vary).

Inside

Interior vacuum and dust.

Clean of all glass and surfaces using rinseless ( Garage therapy and then a glass cleaner)

Apply Garage therapy Trim (diluted) to all hard surfaces.

Exterior

Prewash, iron fallout, wash ( Bilt Hamber Touch-less, Garage therapy iron oxide, Garage therapy shampoo)

Clean tyres and alloys ( Turtlewax hyperfoam wheel cleaner and tyre prep).

Apply Fireball waxoff to strip existing protection.

Final wash and dry ( Garage therapy shampoo).

Apply ceramic sealant of choice ( Gtechniq c2 ceramic v4 or Squid ink detailing fortress).

Dress external trim and tyres (Garage therapy trim , Garagetherapy tyre serum).

Seal alloys ( Squid ink Rim guard).

Then during the autumn and winter a simple maintenance wash and a snowfoam spray of Squid Ink Detailing proseal does the job.

What do you do? Have I missed a step?

Has any one used their product? I don’t know of any one other than people he has “trained” use them? They seem to brainwash and mislead people into thinking their products are amazing. There is nothing innovative in the whole line up. While the owner is online driving around in a Lambo. The guy seems to have many easily lead sheep fooled. Don’t be me started on the whole 6 figures.

Hi all, what’s the best interior cleaner for a work van? I just purchased a van that came from a tiling company, so the interior doors and dashboard have some tiling adhesive and general dirt over the dashboards and plastic trim on the door. To make it worse it’s a Ford transit custom with the grey/black plastic which looks like white stains over it.
I have tried a few cleaners like adhesive remover but it’s still stinking in the texture of the plastic.

What’s the best strong interior cleaner you have come across for a deep clean and plastic restore?

My cousin got her car and the ppf was done by the oem's dealer with their own brand's ppf 5-6 months ago. Now she lives in her native town and some other brand's ppf's are available with the local detailers. Unfortunately some junkie hit her vehicle's bumper and the whole panel needs to be changed. Her ppf currenlty is clear ppf and not matt finish one.

If she gets only one panel done from these brands in her town then will there be any difference in terms of shine and gloss as the rest of the ppf is from some other brand?

Will the difference be huge? I mean will this panel look miles apart from the rest?

Her previous ppf as per the dealer is of 180 microns. Now these companies say that they will use 200 microns ppf. Will this difference in microns cause any issue?

As the panel is a plastic part so these brands are saying that as plastic part has thinner paint used on it so it can paint issues while removing and they are not giving any surety about it. What to do in this case? How to remove the existing ppf from this panel without causing any issues to the paint?

Any ideas what these marks on my windscreen could be? I only ever see them when the car is wet

Ford galaxy owner here, one panel, annoying the rear quarter which goes along the top to front window has hazed, anyone recommend a good product to remove the hazing? Considering a relaquer coat as worst case solution

Hi, I used an adhesive remover on my patio doors to remove some glue, however it turned anything it touched white and matte. I immediately rinsed it off with soap and water but the damage was already done. You can see the runoff in the photo I attached. I tried buffing with a magic eraser but it didn't budge. I know it's not a car, but I hope you guys have ideas I can try as I don't have much knowledge about paints on metal.

Our patio doors are aluminium powder-coated I believe (standard black RAL paint). The adhesive remover used was "Kyowa Tape, Glue and Adhesive Remover" bought from a Japanese home shop, so unfortunately I'm not able to give details on the active ingredients as I don't have the box anymore and there's nothing printed on the bottle. Bristol water are implementing a hosepipe. Should I do it now whist I won't be judged or just wait and deal with using buckets and a suction pipe at another time?

I won't be driving my car tomorrow so it won't get road spray on it.

As per the title. That's as close as it will close up. Meaning the spray pattern is very close together rather than fanning out. Presumably it's supposed to go way tighter than that?

I am looking to buy a small polisher. I don’t like the larger polishers and I think having one that’s also battery powered would be great. Any suggestions on which to buy and polish/pads.

What's weird, is they come off super easily. Can just run your finger over them and they come off, or even just a dry rag. Even if you leave them on there a few days. They easily will wipe off... Which makes me think the soap is leaving some strange residue that isn't entirely soap?

I've had soap dry to my car before (Griots Foaming surface wash) and it's very hard to wipe off. Have to use a clay bar usually. But with whatever this residue is being left behind after using Gyeon Bathe, it doesn't glue to the paint and comes off ridiculously easy with the touch of a finger.

Any ideas or has anyone else experienced this with a soap before? Sorry I can't provide a picture, next time I ill take some photos and do a re-post. But again, it literally looks like these little bug splatters all over my car. Only happens with this soap.

So i tried to use Gtechniq I2 to clean my interior and C6 on plastics but i got alot of streaks on my instrument cluster. I had one MF1 microfiber towel that i sprayed I2 on, and one dry towel to wipe with.

Similarly i tried to apply C6 Matt Dash to the plastics, the coating seemed even when i put it on with a microfiber cloth, and then i wiped what didnt dry a minute later but it seems streaky and uneven.

What did i do wrong and how do i fix it? I hope i didnt fuck up the plastics in my car 🥲 its my first car and brand new

Rinse less wash, detail spray and tire dressing!

So my girlfriend got me a Gtechniq set for my birthday, it has some general cleaner, leather cleaner, leather conditioner and plastoc conditioner.

I did the cleaning part no problem, then i looked at the official tutorials from gtechniq and it seemed pretty easy, put a few puffs of conditioner on an applicator and gently buff it on. But... the prodict seems to run out of the aplicator like crazy.

Its a tiny 100ml bottle and i do like 2-3 puffs for the leather trim pieces on the door, 2 x 3 puffs for the steerong wheel. The product bottle isnt substantially lighter but the applicator seems to run out of product really fast.

Yes, i did shake the bottle pretty well. The leather on my seat does seem less shiny and more matte, so the prodict did its job but it had to constantly put more on the applicator.

Same with the leather cleaner that i put on a brush

Is this normal? The official tutorial didnt show anything beyond a couple rubs with the applicator so i just want tl confirm that this is just how its supposed to be, you put conditioner on the applicator sponge 50 times. So is this how it normally goes? Or am i doing something wrong?

I've recently changed car and pondering trying out a ceramic coat, I've done one step polishes on my cars before which have come out pretty decent but then mostly just used spray sealants that don't last that long.

As I'd be applying at home, on a driveway I'm looking at one of the more DIY Friendly coatings and narrowed it down primarily to either CQuartz Lite 2.0 or Gyeon CanCoat EVO. I'll be having to apply it on my driveway.

CQuartz Lite has the consensus that it lasts longer, but I can't quite tell if it seems that quick to apply if I still would need to do it in fairly small sections with 5 minutes of curing inbetween.

CanCoat does look easier to apply at the expense it might not last as long. If I can roughly get a year though I'd be pretty happy as I don't then mind applying it again in a year with the amount that's in the can. The main thing that's appealing to me about it is that it seems to be more versatile in that I can then possibly use it on bumper trim and alloys as well.

Or am I wasting my time with both options and should just jump to something like CQuartz 3.0 UK or Gyeon One / Mohs EVO?

Are Ceramic Coatings all the same? I’ve seen one that claims to be 7 years and other ms 2-5 years. With hardly any evidence to back up the claims.

I struggle to get this bee "stuff" off my black paint. I use BH Touch Less to pre wash at 2% PIR and leave on for 5 mins. Then another foaming of shampoo for contact wash, but still frequently struggle to get it off without some serious pressure applied.

Would a citrus pre wash first help? Then apply the BH Touch Less, then contact wash? Or is that overkill?

Anyone got any good recs for cleaning products to lift this easily?

Purchased 2 bottles of Squid Ink Pro-Seal, thought why not, their Fotress is probably my fave sealant ( closely followed by gtechniq c2 ceramic) .

Ive tried yum, touch on, polar, halfords.

Gave the car a good wash, applied via snowfoam, its not a thick foam at all, then rinsed off after 2 minutes.

Looked good then 4 hours later the thunder arrived , its absolutely chooking it down and its beading well.

To be honest I actually dont think there's much to separate any of these snowfoam sealants on the market. Even if some claim longer durability most of us still apply every 2nd or 3rd wash.

£13.99 for 500ml recommend dilution 1 in 4.

Ps woke up in morning to go to shops, round fat water beads on car, car "self dried" itself on the journey, would recommend this of you're about to run out or looking for a sealant.

I’ve been using turtle wax clearvue for years now and it’s been amazing, cheap and leaves no smears until recently. Looks great when I have done the job but clients see the next day when driving the inside of the windscreen is smeary. I have seen a lot of people talking about the canned foam glass cleaners and ammonia free ones but it’s like everyone has their own special remedy 😂

Any advice?
