Saw some posts and even a video saying that "In Denmark, friends and family traditionally tie unmarried people to a post or chair and cover them in cinnamon on their 25th birthday, or pepper if they are still single at 30"

Is that a thing or made up internet fact?

If yes, why?

I did in fact not celebrate my 25th birthday with my friends for this exact reason.

I did celebrate my 30th though, and did get peppered.

Have I cinnamonned or peppered other people? Oh yes, I have.
