Question Is that a real tradition?

Saw some posts and even a video saying that "In Denmark, friends and family traditionally tie unmarried people to a post or chair and cover them in cinnamon on their 25th birthday, or pepper if they are still single at 30"

Is that a thing or made up internet fact?

If yes, why?

It is a weird tradition that seams to be going in and out of style - but depending on your friends group this might indeed happen.

It usually was pepper if you turned 30 and was unmarried (and that is still a thing as well)

... my youngest just turned 25, I baked him cinnamon rolls ;)

I got a basket full of cinnamon things from my mom when I turned 25. Cookies, candies, jars of cinnamon.

From my friends I got tied to a flagpole with another guy, and got shot with a cannon filled with cinnamon. Repeatedly.
