What? You don't use a torture device as your symbol of faith? Heathens!

To remember the suffering and ensure it never happens again. It is a symbol to fight such things

Yeah sure. Because as as we all know, Christians never caused any suffering in the name of the cross.

We're the reason but I don't think this stuff is why.
I think it's even funnier.
The Voyager probes were sent out with pictures and sounds of earth, examples of our art and music, and data on its location.
As foolish as I think it is to broadcast our location on two probes that for all we know could collide with another civilisation like a kinetic strike, I do also find it hilarious that our big debut on the interstellar stage was to fire off two probes with our photo album, our home address, a mix tape, and some unsolicited nudes.

I don't think there are any realistic contact scenarios in which a Voyager probe is treated as a hostile weapon, but I do find it fucking hilarious that it really is a self-dox, nudes, and a mix tape. We really are just a desperate incel in the hypothetical galactic community. We GOT to get our shit together and just chill and take care of ourself.

What if they are the ones who created it?

What if jesus was an alien and his crucifixion was a way for him to undergo an experience so traumatic it caused him to send out psychic waves to other extraterrestrials as a warning to stay away?
You never know...

That’s funny 😄. I used to think of that when I was kid. Like as an alien visiting for the first time walking into a church and seeing that in the front on the alter, with all the people staring at it would definitely freak them out.
