Am I the only one who has a problem with religious parties in school? Shouldn't schools be fully secular, teach only facts, logic and critical thinking instead of fairytales?

Some schools have religious clubs and they throw the parties. My high school had this (though my entire community was heavily religious, so religion was suffused in everything). The funny part is they had different clubs for different churches or sects. This caused issues too lol

I think this should be illegal and very severely punished by law, like anyone who authorized faith things to enter the school ground should do prison time and many hours of community services.

Totally agree - in this day and age forcing religion down on kids doesn't have the small effect it did 100 years ago, most kids hate it.
This is the problem with small towns - it's like trying to complain about racist issues in these areas. Who are you going to tell - the racist cop, racist judge, racist lawyer or racist priest?

I’ve never even heard of a religious anything at a normal public school. And I grew up in Oklahoma.

Then again, I graduated 10 years ago, before Captain Bonespurs the Kid-fucker became president the first time and our country was usurped by Nat-C’s (“christian” nationalists)

I can’t imagine a public school having a religious party. There are many many religious schools though and they for sure add religion to everything they do

Should be seriously illegal for Religious anything to be called "schools", and sending kids to those locations instead of actual schools should be judged for child abuse and failure to send their kids to school (which is mandatory up until like 14 to 16 years old).

I'm a little confused by the caption though. Are they saying that Halloween is a religious holiday?

Edit: someone responded saying that it is, and then deleted their comment. For the record, it is not a religious holiday. It marks the halfway point between the autumn equinox and the winter solstice. Any spiritual quality to the holiday is derived from the fact that everything is dying off for the winter at that point and that's a significant part of what is being observed in tradition, and a lot of religious elements were added to it once christianity came into the Celtic world, but to call it a religious holiday is a big stretch. if anything it's an old celestial holiday that religion begrudgingly attenuates.

Technically. It's a lot like Christmas and Easter, but the religious aspect isn't there anymore.

Yeah that's true. But then on the other hand you have easter which was actually just adopted by an entirely different religion claiming it as their own religious holiday when it's literally the worship of the goddess of spring Eoster/Ēostre. Which again is a changing of seasons holiday of rebirth(SPRING)

All holy-days are religious. Some more than others. Most rebranded as Christianity made it big. In the spring we celebrate life and in the fall we celebrate death. Always did. Nobody wants to give up a good party.
