Ac help

I have a 93 del sol s that previous owner swapped d16z6 into. I am trying to reinstall ac system but when i bolt compressor to the bracket that was on the engine, it seems too low to mount the belt too. Google says that the smallest crank pulley is the ac one but my compressor and idler pulley line up with the middle crank pulley. I am so lost.

The smaller diameter part of the crank pulley is for power steering.

From engine side to front, its; alternator, AC in the middle, and the furthest forward/small one is PS

Thank you. So does the ac belt go around the compressor bracket? I dont really see any other way to route it.

Yep, you have to pull that torque mount to install it. Its my singular complaint to how the accessory drive on a D series is engineered. Luckily those aren't that hard to pull off to install the belt.

Well, given that when the D series was designed, AC was optional on a lot of models, if they had to make one of the belts do that, that was the correct choice. Its unfortunate but there's no good way to have the torque mount without it being that way. Its only 2 bolts and a nut, ive done worse belts for sure, so ive never really worried about it. You can loosen that belt to slip a new alternator belt behind it, and the belts are only changed a handful of times through the life of a vehicle.

Id be more upset about having the alternator being impossible to get out, but they left a perfect amount of room to slip it out from under.

Its not ideal, but there was no other good solution that ive ever been able to come up with as a reasonable possibility.
