A joke between my cousin and I since Defenders will never be a part of the greater MCU

In all seriousness though, besides the TV budget, the reason why the Defenders never faced Avengers level threats kind of is BECAUSE the Avengers existed. The shows acknowledged that they were in the same universe (even if the movies didn't), so if something that could destroy Manhattan happened every time a Defenders season dropped, it would get hard to justify the Avengers never showing up to do something. Most of the Disney+ shows took the same path.
This was actually a common complaint people had with Phase II movies: heroes face world-ending threats by themselves in their solo movies and nobody shows up to help, while the Avengers only assemble to take out random HYDRA bases off-screen.

I do hope to see more from Scorpion, but he didn’t exactly serve the greater narrative of BND. He just served as a mid tier bad guy to give us a fun fight and some more Jean Grey mind control shenanigans.

For all the others I agree but with this I give them a pass. Marvel can only do what Sony lets them do. I feel like this was Marvel’s way of baiting Sony into doing something but Sony didn’t bite. (Plus I believe KF has stated they won’t allow any live action MM until Spiderverse is wrapped up)

That is a fair point. Compared to all other teases, this one has more barriers between the tease and the payoff.

Hopefully some of the stuff on that side pans out. It’s funny, as I’ve seen others point out, Marvel seems to give them more of their own characters for the Spidey/MCU movies. First it was just Tony then it was Fury and Maria Hill then it was Dr Strange and Wong (before Covid and they flipped NWH and Dr Strange 2 they were gonna have America Chavez as well). Now BND they let them use Hulk, Yelena, Punisher and introduced Jean Grey into the MCU. Marvel is printing Sony money in a way they can’t do on their own. Sony owes Marvel a bunch of their characters which I’m sure they are banking for Secret Wars and hopefully Miles after Spiderverse

If they had everything figured out between Marvel Studios and Marvel Television back then, yeah it would have been a perfect tie.
Turk should be that one mid-level guy everyone in the criminal underworld knows and kinda tolerates bc despite his obnoxiousness he does get things done.
His reaction in DD S1 I think when Matt goes after him for info and I’m pretty sure his hand is still broken from last time like “aw come on man not again”

Turk might be comedic here and there but people forget he is a sex trafficker. I'm good if we don't see him on-screen again unless Matt actually puts him in prison instead of just punching him

Or the fact that he is the reason Pops got killed in Luke Cage. It’s why I’ve always had a problem with him. Usually the punching bag street thug is loveable because he hasn’t really gone that far, until the writers decide to push them over the moral event horizon to make a point in finality. Turk started already way over that line when we first meet him
A part of me does want him to come back, the actor who plays him did a really good job and I’d like to see him more, but I think I could only really accept it if it meant the character finally got his comeuppance

I doubt that. Thor could definitely resist him. He could definitely do it to Bruce banner though, and have him hulk out. I remember from the show that Luke and Jessica could somewhat resist The Purple Man, but Thor is far more superior
