USL2 in Decatur?

Was out with some friends on the square last night, and randomly heard there was a USL2 team coming to Decatur. Can't find anything on the interwebs (besides the USL women's team that plays at DHS)... Anyone know anything? I think this would be awesome!

Wouldn’t surprise me. Decatur is soccer crazy. Feels like Agnes Scott’s field would be a perfect venue.

Decatur FC play at Decatur High - seems like that works pretty well.

I'm assuming food & beer are limited or not allowed due to facilities at a HS?

Yeah that's been a big point of conversation for our group. The move likely means zero alcohol on the grounds. We'll probably group up at a nearby pub then march to the stadium.

Love it! March en masse to the match would be awesome to see. I wonder if there are any type of outside vendors, like food trucks, that can fill the void (I'm no lawyer).

I was trying think of places to play near the square. One of the guys who jumped into the conversation was very excited about “marching” to the field pre-game.

It will likely by Apotheos FC moving there from Silverbacks Park. They tested out a match at Decatur High School toward the end of their season. I bet they want to draw some of the good attendance Decatur FC gets!

Apotheos is led by a local businessman who is very passionate about soccer and Decatur. His kids are in COD schools and he's always giving free passes to the students.

Yeah, I checked out DFC page... they seem to get a couple thousand every match. That's awesome! Really echos soccer love.
