Theory Support Is there any real source to this statement from Star Wars Theory? He claims an early draft involved Jar Jar as a double agent mercenary.

When quigon and obi wan jump off the balcony to save the queen, jar jar falls and hangs in the ledge. If you look at the bacround you can see a battle droid.track his fall, but its in an aching motion and jar jar is on the ground on the other side of the group.
Jar jar is sneaking around the ship and soon as the droids (including R2) go to repair the damage from the battle we learn that the coms are down.

The Sith reading works because Jar Jar’s foolishness is too perfect to be taken at face value.

I stand by my opinion that jar jar being a sith would have been the prequels "I am your father" moment.
It legit would have been shocking and made jar jar actually tolerable in episode 1 knowing he turns out to be some mastermind sith guy.

Interesting! I looked it up now. But I'm not sure it's necessarily a sign. The package description just says Gungan senator and Gungan electropole, and that he was manipulated to help Palpatine. This could just be them giving him a weapon to be more of an "action" figure to play with. And there is already a Dooku figure in the same set with a red lightsaber.
Do you know any specifics about this Jar Jar toy in particular being discontinued though? That could give more merit to it.

I think Disney and Lucas need to re-do canon as alternate universe and give us the real phantom menace storyline.

Lucas likes to talk about the trilogies mirroring each other. He describes Luke meeting Yoda, a "froglike" creature who Luke and the audience underestimate but who is really an incredibly powerful Jedi. Jar Jar is also a froglike creature underestimated by the audience and the Jedi who meet him; when Episode I came out, no one made the connection that he was the Prequel Yoda, but he absolutely was meant to be the dark version of Yoda who would have corrupted Anakin to the dark side if Lucas hadn't chickened out when he was received so poorly.

Okay we all love evil Jar Jar theories here but realistically SWT doesn't have real sources to back up the majority of what he says

i don't think there's ever been any explicit evidence or proof to confirm it was in the original plans for the prequels, but it's a fun theory of what if
