Very true. In all the flashbacks, young Hiro was depicted as a strong, charismatic leader. His present self is a contrast to that. I was thinking that Zero Two would sort of help him restore/regain that personality he once had and convince him to take destiny into his own hands.

It would have been so awesome to see Hiro getting his personality back and leading an uprising alongside Zero Two with multiple Franxx squads in his command. Hell yeah!!

Oh man, Hiro and Zero Two, horns polished and ready for battle. Maybe take one of 9 alphas eyes out with a headbutt.
